Do we have any idea how many people registered for 3080 ti the day of launch? How many people have actually received cards? Even though there has been some lucky people reporting, it could be in the thousands. Lets hope not but that's wishful thinking.

Oh goodness...I don't think I have laughed so hard in weeks...you win today's posting competition. I am crying.
IKR!? We definite need a “post of the day” thread.
I've been saying this for a while, but I wish we had a "like" button. Some of you guys are HILARIOUS. Keeps me from going insane in this thread sometimes. FloodControl Any estimated times on a self-reporting site are going to be inherently unreliable for weeks, if not months. As far as we can tell, all 3080 ti SKUs have only been released from the initial launch stock. Any reports after launch day were most likely stragglers from people that didn't redeem their notification within the time limit, and thus shifted to the next person in the queue. The inside baseball of the situation: What Element35's site is doing is taking the timestamps of notifications and plotting them against the number of orders reported as fulfilled. The problem with this kind of plot is that it ignores the batch release characteristic of these products, and as enewt has already pointed out is a very small sub-population of the total population of notifications. Over time, batch releases from EVGA will change in size based on supply from NVIDIA; this will throw off the initial estimated rate of fulfillment. As for the population problem, you have to deal with a non-uniform population density of the cohort that reports to the website compared to the population that is in the notification queue but did not register on the reporting site; pockets in either direction will drastically throw off estimated rate of fulfillment, as well. All told, trying to estimate your time based purely off of the sub-population on the reporting site is an unreliable metric and will swing about as much as a Windows XP file transfer time estimate. This is also where I promote enewt's summary method as the preferred queue method. We still deal with a sparse population of self-reporting, but by focusing on the notification time movement rather than total number of people within the population fulfilled, we better eliminate the population density factor. We still have no control or reliable estimate for EVGA's batch movement, but we at least have some indication of movement from Jacob's (EVGA employee Jacob Freeman) social media communication on incoming shipments of cards, sometimes even with confirmation on individual SKUs. TL;DR: Don't trust Element35's estimated notification time. While the site is meant with good intentions, there's too many unknown factors for it to be accurate. /rant
Well said, FloodControl. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I much rather prefer Enewt's approach to the timeline and especially his conservative estimate to prevent people from feeling skipped. Also, this was so eloquently written and factual that for a minute, I assumed it was SQ popping into the thread muzikvillain Had to call my bank because they flagged the transaction as fraud, but ya boy finally got the card.
I've seen a few people talking about their bank flagging transactions. I think that says a lot [of bad things] about my spending habits that I can just drops thousands on tech stuff or travel and my bank never questions it. XD

I do want to start a thread for it, but during the day (6:00 am ESt to 4:00-ish) im at work and on mobile (phone!) so even following the threads becomes a hard-to-do task provided that im not in/out of meetings the whole day. Managing a thread would be beyond my capabilities for sure. I agree though, having a “like” button would be a god send.

Well. Date you joined the forums doesn't mean much. It is an indicator, but I was joining queues months before I even realized there were forums to post to. That said, you seem green as hell - I at least read the forums for a few days before posting. Do some reading, get an idea of your wait times. Then come back and talk about waiting for your notifications and how soon you hope it happens. * Also, could we stop flagging as spam people who ask questions who are new? I get it, some of it is annoying as heck. Great! Thanks! Love this! Responses to nothing in particular are dumb. And it crowds up the forums when 100s of people are doing it just to hit that elite status. For this guy, he went from 4 posts to 9 in the time it took me to update this. He's probably got his spam gloves on. So what. At least he used full sentences. Give new people a little bit of a break. Save that spam button for random thumbs up posts or for people trying to share their art with others. Ya know, the worst of the worst.

FloodControl really nailed it with this description. What I will say for the new site is that at least over the first week they have had a lot fewer errors (but to be clear, they have had errors) where incorrect data entry has led to the appearance that some folks have been "skipped". To the managers' credit, they did correct the errors when members of the community pointed it out to them; that is a huge improvement over the self-reporting spreadsheets. But, I continue to object to the inclusion of the "queue position" and the projection functionality is inherently unreliable for all of the reasons stated so eloquently by FloodControl; given that the sample size is a small cohort and is of unknown percentage to the whole, those two elements are structurally designed to be overly optimistic. As an aside (and if I am going to rant for a moment), I also don't appreciate that one of the site founders actively encourages registrants to not report their invite to purchase emails back to the community. For example, this is a comment from a post created by u/Carmine100 today in the "r/EVGA" subreddit in which users were reporting successful receipt of invite to purchase emails: And, yes, I "downvoted" it. I don't appreciate folks trying to make this summary effort harder. Whatever...I'm over it...it's the weekend. Make it a good one everybody!
