Well, hopefully it'll move decently today. I did look at the forecast for Taipei yesterday, and they should be getting some good rain this week. Maybe that'll help them break their drought and help us with the GPU shortage.
Be and Do in equal measure. Yes, that includes being patient on getting the new computer rig completed. Independent superheroines ftw! viperp12 Why is there only one 3080 hybrid on the sheet for the 14th? I would imagine there would be more...
I question that entry too because the same user also entered a 3897 the same day and messed up that sheet. It has since been fixed. But I am not sure I trust that lone entry.

For anyone waiting to gather up components after securing a GPU, it looks like micro center is setting aside “system integrator” cards for their in house builds. My local MC apparently had 5 cards for retail and some extra for system builds this morning.
When I asked “what is the cheapest build I can get with a 3090?”, he said, “we don’t do that anymore, you can’t get a 3090 with a Pentium, or an i3, it has to be a ‘legitimate’ system build.” Which is at least a Ryzen 5, 16 Gb memory and a B550 MB. Roughly +$1200-$1400 on top of the card you choose, and it can be ready within 2-3 days. You just have to go to “build your PC” desk and ask them ‘if they had any <insert your card of choice here> for in store builds’.
So, if you do not have components, and are ready to go semi-prebuilt, going the above route might be your quickest way to get what you want, or at least something as close as you can build yourself (i.e., you’re limited to what they sell, and have in stock). That boat has definitely sailed for me, but had I known about this several months ago, I’d have definitely taken advantage of it.

Not much is going on over here in the enewt household. Soccer practice for the little one and the really little one (the cat) is starting day 3 of transitioning to a new cat food. Exciting, right? Such is the existence on day 220+ of our watch.... Oh, and my daughter and I have started a new podcast... Wondery's Business Wars. Some of their multi-episode stories uses bad language or has some adult themes (so I prescreen the stories), but when you find a good one, little enewt jr. just loves it. So we are on the second listen through of Hersey's vs. Mars (episodes posted October 28, 2019 through November 28, 2019). My favorite (and bitter-sweet) moment: I had just said, "I remember that" upon hearing about the introduction of the "whatchamacallit", and my daughter responded, "wow, you're ancient." Yup, I am putting that one in the vault. Next up, I am going to try to fast forward over the limited bad words and adult themes (definitely prescreen) in KFC vs. Chick-fil-A (Mar 24, 2021 - April 14, 2021). Yup, that's what we've got going on over here. Hopefully, ya'll or doing something a bit more meaningful and exciting. Best of luck today! darky404 The question is how do the stores on amazon or amazon manage to sell GPUs and companies like EVGA do not.
Where do you think they get the gpus from lol. EVGA has other obligations besides their own store.
If I helped you in some way, or you just think I'm awesome.. please use my associate code! It gives you a discount

Tbf HWU reported distributors are tying the hands of many retailers by forcing component bundles. Not sure how much of that applied to newegg. Not rly liking newegg anyway tho.

I'm beginning to think the queue may be my only hope, despite not signing up until 11/29 for all the air-cooled 3080s (I hadn't originally planned on upgrading, but my 980 SC has started to flake randomly). I've tried for months to get a card from BB & Amazon drops. I have multiple stock alerts set up, but despite getting to the site immediately after getting an alert and being able to add a card to my cart, I have yet to be able to checkout without the card being removed from my cart. I've avoided Newegg just out of principle. They mark the EVGA cards up $50 over MSRP, and then on top of that, force you to buy a bundle. It's just scummy, and I don't want to reward their greed (I know it doesn't matter to them, since someone else will buy it). I was hoping that once I got vaccinated, that I'd be able to go line up at Micro Center at 3 or 4 am, and get a card that way, but now that I'm finally vaccinated, the market demand kept increasing and people had started camping out at noon the day before. My local MC implemented a policy that anyone lining up before 6am would be trespassed, but the campers just moved to the abandoned store next door where MC has no say. So now, to discourage campers, they're not even doing morning drops anymore; instead, they're just randomly stocking the shelves throughout the day. So it's either buy a pre-built to get one of the cards they're reserving for builds, or loiter around the store for hours everyday on the off chance they'll put out the card you want and you're lucky enough to get to it before one of the other lurkers. I've recently expanded my options by deciding that I'm okay with paying for a 3090, since it's still cheaper than a scalped 3080, but so far, that hasn't made getting a card any easier. So now I'm left to just wait and wonder which of these will happen first... Get vaccinatedGet queue notification from 11/29/20 for 3080 Get queue notification from 4/8/21 for 3090 Get card from BB or Amazon Get card from Micro Center Get queue notification from [Day One] for hypothetical 3080 Ti

Get vaccinated
This is seems to be me exactly as well. The EVGA queue is the the Obi-Wan Kenobi of the GPU fiasco for me. There simply is no way to get a GPU without it. Stock Alerts only alert you to the fact that a high dollar bot has purchased a GPU somewhere. Slowly, the queue marches on. Slowly.

Hopefully they launch the 3070 and 3080 TI cards soon and we can get into those queues. I'm getting closer in the 3060 queue, but it's a disappointing chip that i would never consider in normal circumstances.

Get vaccinated Get queue notification from 11/29/20 for 3080 Get queue notification from 4/8/21 for 3090 Get card from BB or Amazon Get card from Micro Center Get queue notification from [Day One] for hypothetical 3080 Ti
Same here (except for camping out at Microcenter - not an option for me). For what it's worth, I haven't seen Newegg force bundles on EVGA cards. Unfortunately they have them very rarely. The most common stock they get are Gigabyte (ALWAYS bundled with other Gigabyte products - might be forced on them by the distributor) and Asus (sometimes but not always bundled). They also tend to force bundles on 3080's more often than 3070's, for example. Sigh. Still, worth a click to enter if/when you see a card offered by itself at a non-scalper markup. Just know that everyone else is also entering the shuffle for that one too so odds are tragically low. I'm still thinking my best shot at a card this year will be entering the EVA queue on day one for the 3070ti or 3080ti. If I get in early enough I might get it by xmas, judging by how the other queues are going. Good luck to all of us.

Wow, that sucks. It's unfortunate that the campers chose to ignore MC policies and got themselves cut, though I can't say I'm surprised. A friend of mine lurked at the Tustin MC for weeks trying to get a card and told me about some of the creatures he met in line. A few of them didn't know what they were getting and probably didn't even own a computer. They answered an ad for a quick job. So, it sounds like scalpers are paying people to wait in line and buy a card in exchange for reimbursement + $200. Less if they don't get anything. I guess MC did what they had to do, but all it does is shift the problem inside the store. Hopefully there will be some kind of order to the whole process so nobody gets dog piled as they reach for the black box.
