Good to see EVGA is a more niche card maker. Let's pump out more hybrids for the 3080. It's not like people in September queued before those in December.

According to the spreadsheet The ftw3 ultra has been out almost 3 months ahead of the ftw3 ultra hybrid.

Yet the air cooled ftw3 confirmed purchases are over TEN TIMES that of the hybrid card. Saying "evga is a more niche card maker" is factually inaccurate and down right preposterous.

Good luck hopefully you get your card soon. We're all tired of waiting.

The 3898 has moved not even 6 mins since it launched in December, 3897 has moved 5 days since it's launch in September. 3898 gets one drop every month or so, 3897 drops every week. Don't blame EVGA for allocating like 5% of the 3080 FTW3s to hybrids but more so your late queue spot.
 
I understand everyone is tired of waiting and wants their specific card to drop more but we're all in this together waiting. Let's not go down this road of prioritizes your card over others.

Again, it burns to have queued in September to see someone that queued in December get a card that is basically the card I've waied 3 months longer for but with a radiator.

The lesson here is, queue for every single card the moment it is released. And, be kind to each other here. No one likes waiting but we can at least try to be happy for each other when there are small successes.

It's not an opinion though. There has been a lot more product dropped for 3897 than the 3898. I see you complaining about 3898 every couple pages though, so it seems like you're just looking for something to be upset about. The queues are all moving at different paces and we just have to live with that and be patient.
 
Also, if 3898 had been released I would have joined the queue in September, too.

I have an 11900K waiting on the Dark - can't see needing this mobo (picked the wrong combo).  I guess I could use it while waiting for the Dark release, just won't have PCIE 4.0.

Apparently the card itself needs better thermal pads to be a good card, but works great with a little TLC.

Do I buy this for a friend's build (he wants EVGA but could be months)?  Do I buy it and resell locally?  Do I go full evil scalper and ebay it for $2000?  I'd end up with a free motherboard to put in my daughter's computer I guess.
Moral dilemma time!

enewt, this probably dosnt matter much but it will to some so your 3898 should end at 58 seconds, as that was my time, 2 seconds may help at least someone out knowing to pay attention tomorrow for straggler

First congrats...  Second, there is a way to pass along your good fortune and not sell your soul.  Like someone said above it is up to you, but it's a pretty good feeling to play Robin Hood, taking from the bots/scalpers/miners and giving to the poor gamers and creators. 
 
I have stayed in the card hunt to continue to do my part to help gamers get cards, I could have made a ton, but that's not what I am about.  Gained nothing but seeing the genuine excitement when people get a card they thought was impossible.  I cannot fault people either way, there's a market value, so it is what it is.

That’s my plan Drewski. I’m reaching out to friends now to see if anyone wants it or wants a new build around it. I can use the motherboard after all for a few weeks so finding a build buyer would be perfect so I could get a little something for labor and not feel like I was scamming anyone.

It’s not that it’s weird I just didn’t think I’d be so close. I can’t seem to find where that queue is in time relation. But we will see haha.
