Pretty awesome that they extended the cutoff date, seems like they are trying to make something decent out of a bad situation.

I was hoping they did it because they have a huge influx of cards coming for the que. 

I'm hoping so too! Perhaps they just didn't ship as many pre-tariff cards as they were hoping, so they bumped it out a month. I totally see them making a decision like that trying to take care of at least a minimum of early notify subscribers.

Honestly, EVGA is as classy as they come. This kind of customer care is so rare these days. The longer this goes on and the more little things I see EVGA do to help how they can, the happier I am to send my money to EVGA instead of a competitor.

My hope is that this implies more cards are actually going to be released into the queue to make pushing the date back matter.  If the next four weeks are like the last two weeks, it doesn't matter if they've pushed the date or not.  In that case, I'd rather pay an extra $70 for the card today than spend another month of dry drops (not that we have the option).
 
(To be clear, I think it's swell that they're extending it, they don't have to do so, yadda yadda.  Just hard to get excited about it when nothing's on the horizon anyway and the last couple weeks have been dispiriting)

Zero movement in 203 days for the card I'm signed up for. I'm not expecting EVGA to come through for me. They've made no effort to do so in 203 days; no reason to start now. Was a loyal customer for over a decade. I'm pretty sure Asus is going to come through on a STRIX OC that I'm in a queue for first (they show some movement). I don't care that EVGA moved the date out to May 14th... they don't have any intention of even trying to get a card in my hands by then (will be 234 days in the queue on May 14th).

This queue is an absolute joke. 6 months on a waiting list and it hasn't moved a day. Talk about dangling a carrot 

So I just registered for Elite status and got to spin the prize wheel as a new Elite member.  I hope this isn't some kind of late Aprils Fools joke but I spun the 30% discount on a single product purchase.  Now, if this is correct, it looks like the 3898 might only cost me about $530?  Somehow this sounds too good to be true, but I'm hoping!!!

Now, I just need about 6 minutes of movement on the 3898 queue so I can find out.

I was just about to say “is there an Asus queue!?!?” Then I found about it was not. Interesting. Didn’t know about any resellers setting a queue.

The reseller isn't well known, but is well established. You can check them out here, but anyone getting in on the queue would be really late in the game on there now.

It is not a joke. The only catch: you have to purchase card before you 30% discount code expired. Because you so close, I hope you will be able to. Also you can use combination of 30% discount code + associate code to get even bigger discount.

Major news for Elite Members. Elite members will have priority for the first 24 hours for new products/launches to buy or enter the queue system. This should cut a majority of people for the future 3080 ti and HydroCopper KP queues when released.

The change probably won't help as much as one might think. There are a LOT of Elite members.
 
If you look at the day of launch signups, I'll bet you find that a high percentage are Elite members. And that is probably more so, with the higher power/  price cards.
 
Hopefully, by the time of the next launch, there will be adequate availability and exact time of signup will be meaningless.

So two bits of good news dropped after last night's summary update:
 
     (1) The 2020 grandfathered prices will remain in effect for folks in the applicable queue prior to January 11, 2021 for another month (through May 14). To be clear the prices that are currently listed on the EVGA.com website the current 2021 prices (grandfathered sales will get a discount at checkout of approximately $50-70 off those prices) which is in addition to the Associate’s Code discount of 3% at checkout; and
     (2) Going forward, "Elite" EVGA members will get first crack at new EVGA products available through their queue system (i.e., Elite members can register for a queue 24-hours before the general public can). Becoming an Elite member is free, but there are some hurdles you may have to jump through (information can be found here: https://www.evga.com/member/elite/).  (Please avoid spamming the EVGA forums to hit 100 posts...choose a different approach).  
 
That is it...that's the intro for Tuesday...hopefully the rest of today will be devoid of additional sodium chloride...the EVGA forums this morning already dispensed with more than enough salt to satisfy my daily requirements.
