Yes sir, same story different week. Cards will start to enter the supply chain the closer we get to RDNA2 launch time. It is becoming more evident that this shortage is deliberate and a calculated strategy to counter AMD new products. I would like to make it clear also that EVGA has no part in it as they can only take what Nvidia gives them.

I remember a recent story about how much cash Sony was going to be burning to air freight something like 5 million more PS5 units than they had originally planned. The logistics issues are real, and it's clearly adding to the GPU pain.

As more&more people are added to the list, my number on the queue gets further up... I know I'm not 153rd on queue, there must be hundreds more who are not on the list but it gets depressing.

I heard that the 3080 was coming out with new versions that have more memory. I was wondering why the pricing was so far apart between the 3080 and 3090. 10 gb is not really enough but 24 gb is overkill unless you need it now. By the time games come out to take advantage of the 24 gb the RTX 40 series will be available. Oh well you can't really win on this treadmill

I don't know why people complain about memory so much.  If you read any articles concerning GPU memory allocation, most games do not use all the memory that it allocates. It could allocate 10GB and use 5GB.  We don't have any solid numbers on how much is used. Having a RTX 3080 20GB will give you Zero performance increase in gaming and probably leave you with $150-200 lighter in your wallet. What would be better if they gave us a RTX 3080 12GB with full 384 bit bus. But it would way to close in performance to the 3090.

Currently yes especially at 1440P, but and 4K if more cards had more then 8GB then they may develop more games that can use 10gb+ plus. But likely a couple years out atleast or more for 1440P.

Investment stuck for 1 month just for shipping is not a good business and will hurt cash flow. So yeah items that are outdated fast and in high demand like latest phones, consoles, gpus are very likely shipped by Air. By the end of this month, I think most of the 17th would be covered.

To add to that, it literally takes approximately 2 weeks to fully load a ship, and cargo ships don't typically just travel directly back and forth between continents.  There a number of major ports where unloading and loading occur prior to embarking over sea's to the west coast USA.  But the ship is coming, no doubt.

Two weeks to *load* a ship? I should hope not! Usually within 24 hours to load/unload event the largest ships: https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-30696685

Hong Kong can manage 10 hours

I guess i googled the wrong info,... I wonder if that's typical use or were they trying to set a benchmarking record... Eitherway it takes a long time between visits.

It does take some time, that is true enough. Good shippers also need to be good at handling customs as well.

Seems like drop is over until maybe next week now.. and the lists did move for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra.. like 10-12? on the notify and 9? on the step up.

So its months, not weeks to get your card and likely not going to improve.  Even if Nvidia releases more product to partners during the big AMD launch demand is so high that I doubt your going to see it make a dent because EVGA will need to limit the cards provided to Notify and Step Up.. so maybe a 4 month wait turns into a 3 if there's more product in November..

I believe Jacob said more were coming today, as far as I can tell no emails have went out today.  You have to remember it wasn't until 5pm EST that they started sending emails yesterday and they sent out quite a good many yesterday.

Seems like drops are trickling in just enough to keep us curious. That is until Nvidia decides its time to open the gates late Oct/early Nov with AMD release

I am more interested in the AMD CPU launch next month.  When the 3950X was launched it was unavailable for 30 - 60 days then available at a $400 premium over list for like 7 months.  End result.. took 8 months to obtain at list.

I might bend that rule I have about paying over list to get a new CPU but I am not going to do that for a GPU.  My existing GPU and CPU will go into my "B" system which I am planning since my MB will accept a new 5000 series.
