No, you cannot gift slots in the queue.  Otherwise, it would be a whole new market for scalpers.

True. Not as lucrative for them as they can only get 1 slot per card but yeah I see what you mean "Sign up for all the things"....

Well, we shall just see what happens first. I ordered the last of my Noctua fans today and my 5800X was also delivered so this is the last piece of the puzzle. Next week my region opens up from lockdown and I'll be down at Canada Computers or Memory Express doing a backorder on the 3080 FTW Ultra

A business contact of mine worked at Canada Computers back in the day and told me these big chains (CC, BB, ME etc) have stock agreements with their major suppliers. Waiting times there might be much shorter. The downside is you gotta put your money on the table before they put you in the system.

Aren't the 3060s supposed to be like ~$330-$360?  Might grab one for my dad's computer, he's running on a 1060 & currently going back to school for computer programming, so he could probably use the extra... well, everything, a 3060 has compared to a 1060.

I believe it already there. Anyone can register many email accounts on any free email service. EVGA doesn't require account to stay in line - just an email. Which mean you can sell email account with EVGA notification and buyer can register EVGA account using this email with his name and address. And EVGA can do nothing about it.
I guess EVGA should send notification to all to force them to register account in order to stay in line. Registered account can't be sold, because if name or address changed EVGA can refuse to sell.

Use associate code to save 3% on your EVGA GPU purchase! And up to 10% on other products!

Getting old or just tired.  I almost left a piece of plastic inside my GPU's backplate area when I was modifying the thermal pads, luckily I took a picture that happened to have it in it & decided to edit said picture BEFORE doing a burn in test on the card.  Shut it down & got it outta there... it wasn't in an area that I think would've caused any damage, but still - usually I don't make such mistakes, but I'm running on a nap this morning, other than that I've been up since 4-5PM yesterday lul

That's the day the queue system launched, it will be extremely bogged down on all SKUs that were available at that time.

There is another bottleneck. A big one. It opens up a lot in between though. The rest of September should fall relatively quickly.

It could be that I'm an old man but I read this and think "..... or it could mean that the pace remains constant as less people opted to 'what do you mean I have to wait' and went for competitors cards that were available". Any additional load on production would be spaced out over time as people realized "damn it, I guess I have no choice".

Being in my late 40's I've been putting my new computer together over the last 4-5 months. A single part here, a single part there; usually when there was a sale. If capping it off with an EVGA card (having owned mostly EVGA over the years) means I have to wait? Then I can wait until I can get my hands on one. Whether it be here, or a chain.

Prior to October 5, everybody just thought the auto-notify button was to get notified that the card was back in stock (and likely the email would come well after it had already sold out again).  On October 5, EVGA announced that they were treating the auto-notify registrations as a formal queue system.  That announcement was publicized in online media on the afternoon of October 5 and the morning of October 6.  Anybody and everybody who had ignored the auto-notify buttons started hammering them...and, if anybody was going to try a scalping effort for EVGA cards, they likely started to spam auto-notify registrations on different emails.  October 5-6 for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra is going to be a doozy of a day and a half.

EVGA has one model for $389, and another that should be cheaper. No sign of reference edition links that I have found yet, even on Best Buy, Nvidia's reference model champion retailer.

All the other brands have decided that the 3060 is now suddenly worth $500-ish, so be warned!

Edit: Here's the link I would check if you want a reference model. If they decide to try to sell direct again, it will be here. If not, it will likely link to Best Buy, or another retailer of their choice. Says we will see some models starting at $329 so .... ?

I would like to see the lower price but with the current market I will pay more out of desperation. I need to finish my build...

From what I understood the 3060 will not get an FE model.

Edit: Yep https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-rtx-3060-release-date-specs-price-and-performance/ no FE for yew 3060 - guessing NVidia doesn't want to waste their production on such a low-profit unit's production :-P buncha a-holes.

If you want a guaranteed spot for a 3060 card, highly recommend getting in queue as soon as the site stops bogging down.  I don't know what other retailers will be doing them, but it's likely Newegg will do them via Shuffle, and most other retailers will sell out instantly.
At least with eVGA's site you get the 3% discount via Associate's Code, and you know if you get in queue within the first bit, you're likely to get your card pretty quickly.

Hopefully NVidia actually used their brain this time & built up a decent day one stockpile for the release... I doubt it though, they seem to be run by mostly braindead automatons.  Their Engineers & the like are the only reason they aren't out of business for boggling 2 launches in a row this badly.

Yeah, try to get in to queue as quickly as possible.

It's really going to depend on just how high demand for these are.  The 3090 FTW3 Hybrid had a lower queue amount because of the price of the card, I got in to queue 15 minutes after it opened up & got my card during the second post-queue opening drop of the cards.  Took like 2 weeks I think.

I'm not going for the 3060, but on behalf of those who are.... Could someone please post a direct link to the queue entry field right after you enter your info? Preferably someone who gets in quickly. It proved to be helpful when the hybrids launched. If the server gets bogged down it could save people here a couple of minutes, or even more. As many of us have noticed, a couple of minutes in a bottle necked queue could mean two more months of waiting.

Have this forum open when the auto-notify is supposed to go live. Watch for someone to post a link if the server bogs down and you get stuck. I would plan on that happening. If it doesn't, great, but based on how the other advertised-in-advance launches have gone it probably will.

With the 3060 coming out today and the queues moving slowly. Should we just wait for the 4k series when it gets released in 6 months.

Not going to enter the 3060 queue. I'm not going to buy 2 cards. Only 1. And the one I buy is the 3897 or maybe a future 3080 Ti if it comes at a good price.

Good luck to those who wants one.

If you enter the queue on multiple cards you don't have to actually buy them all right? So why not do it?

40-series won't be released in 6 months.  It'll be September or so in 2022.  30-series refresh MIGHT come out sometime between July & October.  With how bad supply is, NVidia may push that back though, who knows.

Because it takes a lot of effort to click over to each product page and click on the auto-notify button; at least 30 seconds on my three year old laptop.

In all seriousness, if it is a card that you would consider purchasing, you should register for its queue; if you would never buy that card under any circumstances, then as a courtesy to others who would, probably best not to register for it as you would only be creating a future "straggler" (assuming you don't later cancel the registration before your turn in that queue comes up).

Alright, I totally get that. The only ones I've registered for are ones I want to buy. But if by some craziness they all became available at once I would have to pass on a couple of them.

I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. Worst case is someone has to wait an extra day or two to get their notification. We're five months into waiting at this point. Another day isn't going to really hurt anyone.

Agreed, nobody should have an issue with that...register to get options...but if you would NEVER buy a particular card...then it really isn't an option, is it...?
