I just thought about checking the progress now, it was so busy at work today i worked from 7:30am-9:40pm and not once thought about the EVGA queue, I'm glad i don't have to be disappointed today about the lack of 3080 XC3 drops today...

I am at 12/14/2020 at 9 something am and am sitting here watching people not getting their cards from back in September. This is just sad. I still wish Bitcoin would flop..... Maybe that would help us gamers get a decent card. Like I said before, I skipped on the 2080ti because my water-cooled evga 1080ti has an extreme oc on it and the fps difference wasn't worth it in my eyes for the price. But now... My card is getting dominated, and just my luck, I can't get one lol. Might go hang out at microcenter or best buy this morning and see if I have any luck. I absolutely refuse to give scalpers a dime.

Best Buy hasn't had a drop in over 2 weeks now. Also, they're doing online only so don't bother going there. Microcenter is your best shot. This $800 MSI 3070 performs really well. However, I still feel dirty for paying $800+ for a 3070 (MSRP too!!!). There is not much value, here. I really want a 3080 FE so I can FEEL the VALUE.

Things are getting worse. I've been specifically looking/waiting for a 3090 XC3 since I already have a waterblock for it but even on ebay the stock is almost nonexistent. While this is going to get worse I think it's going to extended past Q1. With chip shortages hitting every market at this point it's going to take alot more than just a large shipment of cards coming in to meet demand. I'll get my Covid shot before I see one of these 3080 cards. Best Buy drop checkout is terrible. Had item in cart and was sold out before shipping info could be entered due to having to wait for verification code to be sent to email before order proceeding. Was sold out in 5 minutes. Been buying EVGA cards since the 460 series. So much for customer loyalty.

Yet another BB drop that screwed me.
Same here. Had been periodically F5-ing all morning, so I had the page up and refreshed the instant my Discord notify went out, clicked "Add to Cart", waited forever for it to turn yellow, and then clicked "Add to Cart" once it did... "No longer available. Not added to your cart."  This is the way BB drops have gone for me for months. I have multiple stock watch notifications and Discord channels, and I always get to the page while "Add to Cart" is still available. Unfortunately, while I've managed to get a card in my cart once or twice, I usually can't even get a card in my cart, and I have yet to actually be able to check out even when I did. Same situation for Amazon drops.

Something else to keep in mind, BB will only ship/In store if they plan on shipping that card to a local (within 250 miles) to your location. If you live in an area like me, that has seen maybe 2-dozen 30 series cards in total shipped to, you'll never see it.

I don't know how accurate this is, as it could just be conjecture, but I've read several reports that say having your account logged into multiple tabs/windows triggers BB's bot protection, and it won't let you buy a card. Just in case, I've added multiple 3080s to my "Saved Items" list so I can see all of them at once without having to have multiple tabs open.

I don't know how accurate this is, as it could just be conjecture, but I've read several reports that say having your account logged into multiple tabs/windows triggers BB's bot protection, and it won't let you buy a card. Just in case, I've added multiple 3080s to my "Saved Items" list so I can see all of them at once without having to have multiple tabs open.

i guess one upside would be the newer gen cards have better performance and i would be more willing to shell out the cash for it. also id have another chance at a good spot in a queue.

Well the government can't fix it easily . But manufactors like evga,msi,pny,asus could do a better job than this. Unfortunately it would involve know your customer enrollment plans. Ie I send in my Drivers license or my passport with my needs to purchase. I do not think that will ever happen but it is the only way to beat scalpers. When and if mining tanks again the demand will lower as I wrote a miner will grab 10,20,20 or more cards at high prices and that kills it for us all.

From what I've read, saying "not available within 250 miles of your location" is one of the ways the bot protection prevents you from buying a card. I'm in the same place as you re: 3090s. I've actually had success getting all the way through checkout with a 3090, but couldn't justify the price enough to pull the trigger (even before the tariff price increases).
