Now, if your want to talk about problematic launch. The new Halo was supposed to launch with the Series X...who knows when we will see that game?!?.and in what state...yikes!
I'm guessing that Studio 343 watched the flaming dumpster fire that has been Cyberpunk 2077 and is taking notes on how not to launch a game.

GrandestFinale Giving up on the 3070 bc I actually NEED a GPU now but I did just snag a 2060 non super new, with enemy's code! Not the biggest card ever but he'll it's better than nothing, it'll last me til 3080 Ti time at least. I'll be removing myself from the 3751 queue now. Thanks to everyone for helping me stick it through!
Congratulations on the 2060 card! Best of luck with the purportedly-soon-to-be-announced 3080 Ti (and resulting queue). For the record, I am a friend, not a foe....
You can thank my crappy autocorrect for that! Edited it out but not soon enough it seems. Might have 2 less vram GBs but I'm fairly certain this eats my old RX 580 alive anyways.

Fair point. I do wonder, however, whether the times have passed Halo by. I loved the original...finished it on co-op all the way through with one of my brothers. Played Halo 4 on PC a few weeks ago and found it...uninspiring. I hope 343 brings the metal!

Next fall is what they are shooting for. They released some new screenshots a week or two ago I believe. I'm guess the drops were small today for the hybrids?

justin_43 Yeah that's pretty rough. Unless I knew I had a real shot I don't think I'd wait at Microcenter for too long. EVGA queue and F5 from home is where it's at for me. No MC near me though. They really need to expand. EDIT: I don't know if they still have crazy CPU deals like they used to but I have driven to 2 different ones in NY just to score CPUs for myself and friends for super cheap in the past. Plus it's cool that a retail store would stock all the PC parts they do. Even the small stuff like fans and cables. It's just too far for me, like 2+ hours away.
I wonder if that line has to do with some redditor announcing that a MicroCenter rep told him they were getting a big batch of 3000 series cards in a few microcenters. The reddit specifically mentioned the Houston one. He mentioned a consistent drop thru the day.

I wonder if the hilarious blunder release of CyberPunk drove them off to delay. I heard that Ratchet and Clank was also delayed too. Thermionics I'm guessing that Studio 343 watched the flaming dumpster fire that has been Cyberpunk 2077 and is taking notes on how not to launch a game.

I really don't get why people are complaining so much about Cyberpunk - I haven't put a ton of hours in to it yet, but I've also had zero major issues that had to do directly with the game thus far. Only crashing issue I had was related to Afterburner randomly allowing my undervolt/OC to change my clock way too high resulting in the game hardlocking - fixed it by simply lowering the clock so that if it does "spontaneously shoot up" 30MHz the game doesn't bork. & that was with the 3080 - I've had no issues at all so far in the game with the 3090. I think part of the problem is, people are playing the game with their "supposedly stable" OCs that have never had problems in the past, but Cyberpunk 2077's engine/graphics etc are next level hardcore in terms of PC demands & that is resulting in crashes. This would be proven if people were more willing to "see if the crash happens when your system is at stock" but most people refuse to believe their "tested for over an hour" or whatever stability testing they've done on the CPU/RAM OCs are actually not 100% stable. Just my two cents - I know the game is having actual issues on AMD systems that have to do with drivers/optimization for AMD CPUs though, that's legit annoying for that crowd of people (which I'm close to becoming a member of with my planned 5900x upgrade next year).

The hybrids' queues were announced in advance so there is going to be a lot of congestion during the launch windows. What that means is that even if they have a sizable drop, the actual timeline may move just a little bit. It will start to accelerate once the queues get out of the first hour or so of the launch.

Not just that, but that the prices are still very high (like greater than 3xxx series equivalent MSRP) for the 2xxx series. That's the truly crazy thing.

I know that man. I got early times for once. Like minutes away for either 3080 hybrid. I'll just have to wait for your update today. I know the 3080 ftw3 hybrid didn't move today. Plus I had to pass on my notification today, after thinking it over. 24G-P5-3987-KR 10/7/2020 7:24:34 PM PT So someone should get a card tomorrow.

The latest hotfix has given me an improvement in performance, my 1080 Ti can now play at Ultra preset (1080p of course) with the same fps I had in high preset. An amazing GPU this, I will miss it.

I'm in the queue pretty early for one of the 3080 hybrids, since I really kind of want to return the FTW3 Ultra 3090 I have because of the expense. However, last night I loaded up a massive mod pack for Skyrim, about 1000 mods, and HWiNFO reports that it allocated 17.5 GB of VRAM (!), so now I am not sure about going with a 10GB card. I guess I'll have to decide soon, because my number for the 3080 will probably come up in the next couple weeks. I could grab the 3080 hybrid, then maybe step up to the 3080 Ti...but I kind of wonder if those top-of-the-line SKUs for the 3080 Ti are going to be $1300+ anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 12/16 drop had at least 200 3898's. Probably more. There were obviously a lot of people trying to get a time stamp. This is going to be one of those queues that moves an average of a minute per week if we're lucky. Early September: "Gee, I can't wait to get my 3080 later this month and be ready to play Cyberpunk when it comes out a few weeks after that. It's going to be the COOLEST GAME EVERRRRRR". Late December: "Gee, I can't wait to get my 3080 in March. Cyberpunk? Oh, I might pick it up later when the price drops".

I'd sell my 2080 but my brother is graduating from high school in March and I figured I'd just gift him the 2080 with a B550, 32 GB of RAM, an M.2 SSD and a PSU while I just go save up for a new build. Now that I think about it though, maybe I should just sell the 2080 and wait for GPU stocks to stabilize and get him a 3060 Ti or 3070 in March.

Well for me the 2070 Super was just a card I was going to use to Step Up to a 3080, but I got tired of waiting on the Step Up queue to ACTUALLY MOVE - since I signed up on 10/1 - so I just ditched it. Pretty much got my money back, just have to pay EBay fees, since I got it on sale for ~$549 shipped. And it was an XC Hybrid. New owner got a brand new card & I'm perfectly happy to RMA/warranty it for him if it breaks anytime in the next 2 years & change. Same applies for the person who bought my 3080. Here's hoping we get a big drop tomorrow folks, since it's the last chance we have for one before the long sleep. If the Kingpin doesn't hit tomorrow *insert shrug meme here* guess I'll just enjoy this card until January then - at least I'm not stuck on my ol 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid right now... which the new owner of that card is also enjoying it, local friend bought it for ~$400 in payments before the 3070 launched, he's only at 1080p so it's plenty for 99% of titles, even Cyberpunk isn't giving him any issues (granted, RT isn't possible but still). Tried to tell him to wait for me to get a 3070 for him but he didn't want to :-P Between the 1080 Ti, the 2070 Super & the resale of my 3080, this 3090 was basically "free" post purchase - maths checks out. lol

viper809 Shame someone had to buy a 2070 because everything is out of stock.
its crazy that is it has come down to that
Not just that, but that the prices are still very high (like greater than 3xxx series equivalent MSRP) for the 2xxx series. That's the truly crazy thing.
Agree, I've seen 2080S at the 800 USD or 1000 USD mark.. thats beyond insanity. Someone got my 2070 Super (used for only 2 weeks) for $550 shipped, yeeeeeet :-D
Its sad bro. for real. lol idk
