Looks like we only have a few drops left before they close for the holidays (and then reopen on the 4th of January)

brrraddd2 Nvidia isn't the only one struggling to meet demand. The latest AMD products are all out of stock. Xbox and Playstation are unavailable as well.
As I've explained earlier in the thread, AMD is seeing knock-on effects because nVidia isn't remotely able to meet demand. For those of us who have no other alternative and need a new GPU now, and our preferred vendor (nVidia) cannot supply those needs, then we're more likely to go to a competitor if we're unable to wait. This surge demand isn't really able to be planned for, only reacted to, and AMD is in the rough spot of needing to both compete in the gaming desktop market, as well as make enough APUs and GPUs to satisfy their console clients. As for game console launches, that's not a fair comparison: with rare exception, new game console launches never meet demand, though console makers typically do their best to meet as much Xmas demand as they can (since they know every single system will sell). Game consoles also have different manufacturing cycles compared to GPUs, with final cosmetic designs sometimes not being finalized until a quarter before launch (though it's easier and quicker to build cases than boards). So yeah, no need to defend nVidia by comparing their screwups to demand issues elsewhere. Their demand issues started well before the holiday season in earnest, the launch was a complete debacle, and they're stuck being unable to meet actual demand because they simply never prepared for it in the first place. Everyone else is suffering for nVidia's screwup.

On game consoles, absolutely. In all my years building PCs, though, I've never seen it this bad for GPUs. Just shows how bad nVidia was at estimating demand. Oh, and I managed to get a PS5 somehow today. Quod erat demonstratum.

evgaboyd Nintendo did it, who's to say Microsoft, Sony, Nvidia, AMD aren't. I guess I'm just not a true believer.
A few things... Nintendo doesn't produce their chips. They buy them either from AMD or to Nvidia. Nintendo only makes the console. Nintendo doesn't use the highest tech or the newest node for their consoles, unlike Sony and Microsoft. Newest nodes and tech are always more sought by enthusiasts and gamers on PC. As well as high end computational stuff like AI research and digital currency MINERS.

Thanks! I was on the Best Buy F5 train earlier today (ugh...) and missed one, but followed the ResetEra thread a little longer and got clued into a Wally World drop. Won't be here in time for Xmas, but their URLs helped me snag one without any serious F5'ing. I'll send them your way, in case you want to keep them on hand. Though wow, having worked several console launches on the front lines (including the Wii), this really does show how bad nVidia screwed up. Never thought in a million year's I'd get a PS5 in the launch window from online ordering; thought for sure my queue number would pop or I'd grab a 3090 from BB long before then. At least EVGA gives me a queue to sit in, even though I'm still not satisfied with how certain SKU queues have been handled.

patrickisfrench unless you value GPU temps over CPU then having GPU rad as intake will allow coolest air to the GPU giving you better overclocking headroom there
If you have the GPU radiator as intake, yeah you're going to get slightly cooler intake temps for the GPU radiator, but you're going to have higher temps on the entire rest of your system from venting demon-air exhaust from the GPU radiator in to your case. Having the GPU radiator top mounted as exhaust is going to be much better for people that have small cases & can only do 1 radiator at the front as intake and the other at the top as exhaust. The CPU radiator (unless you have a Threadripper or HEDT Intel CPU with high core count, as I said before) is never going to be putting out as much heat as the GPU radiator if they're both under load, because regular gaming-grade CPUs like the 9900K & similar, top out in the 170-200W of heat/wattage output - GPUs range from 320W (if you're running an XC3 3080 Hybrid) to 420-500W (3090 Hybrids). With AIO/Hybrid cooling, the GPU radiator will always be the warmer of the two, so having it setup as exhaust is better for the rest of your system, and having system air as intake isn't going to raise your GPU temperatures THAT much. You might idle a degree or two warmer, and load temps might be 2-4C higher than they would be with fresh intake air... but is that worth your M.2s, CPU, RAM, and the rest of your system being 5-10C+ warmer? I've measured the temperature coming out of a Hybrid cooler radiator before with my 1080 Ti, had a thermocouple sensor that connects to my motherboard setup to read the temperature coming out of the Hybrid Radiator, then used that temperature to control the "push" fan on the GPU radiator's speed, thusly increasing fan speed only when the GPU was under load. I saw that air temp get up to 34-38C at times. Imagine how hot the rest of your system will be running if your intake-case ambient air is 34-38C. That's why I recommend folks do GPU radiator as exhaust & CPU radiator as intake if they only have room to do a setup in that way. This is making me wanna shut down & rewire one of my thermocouples in to read the exhaust temp on this new GPU radiator. I'm gonna go do that :-P

I am not trying to fight you or win some argument with you, but honestly, how did they screw up in your mind if you still want to give them your business? The best way to stick it to the man is to take your money elsewhere. If you actually NEED a GPU you can find some older generations on ebay for a reasonable price until you can score a 3000 series. I am still rocking a 980 Ti Hybrid. While I can't take full advantage of my new 65" LG CX, I can play most games just fine with the graphics tweaked down a bit. Honestly, the longer I have to wait, the more time CDPR will have to iron out Cyberpunk. Who knows, maybe even some Ti's will be announced by then!

Jacob said there would be 3080 x3c ultras drops today and there's no confirmation yet?
Anyone here lurking that is close to the most recent drop time able to confirm the queue hasn't moved?
Looks like 9/18/2020 06:22:00 PST was last recorded drop.

For anyone looking at getting a Hybrid card of the 3080/3090 variety: Can confirm tube length from where it goes in to the card, to where it touches the fitting-ends on the radiator is right around or a bit longer than 400mm (can't get exactly exact measurement because of the curve in the lines with it installed).

Will you hurry it up. You two have to go before I can at 8:04AM. On a serious note, the xc3 drops have been sad the past two weeks. Like maybe 3 cards. I think we shouldn't call any of these drops unless there are 20+ cards. Would be interesting to see which models could still be called drops at that point. Maybe one of them. maybe.

Seriously considering trying to jump on the Hybrid queue that is opening back up tomorrow. However, I have 2 problems. 1. I'm honestly not sure that my case can support another 240mm rad. I'm really thinking about upgrading my case and simply moving my whole system over, just to get into a new 3000 series card. Kind of crazy... 2. Sadly, I actually have an appointment scheduled at 9AM PT tomorrow morning. I'm sure on my computer I could register in a few seconds once the button goes live. However, on my phone I'm sure I'll be screwed.

There are plenty of cases that would support both a CPU & GPU having an AIO on them that aren't too awfully expensive, so it's not really that crazy to be considering an upgrade on your case to suit your fancy new GPU. When the button goes live the site probably won't load for most people for several minutes, usually it's around 7-8 minutes for me before the page/even the 30-series product page list becomes viewable again to Auto Notify for a queue. Even if you don't get in that queue for say 30-60 minutes, you'll still be near enough to the beginning that you'll get a card much sooner than most of the other queues unless you're coming very close to the dates they're currently at.

brrraddd2 I am not trying to fight you or win some argument with you, but honestly, how did they screw up in your mind if you still want to give them your business? The best way to stick it to the man is to take your money elsewhere. If you actually NEED a GPU you can find some older generations on ebay for a reasonable price until you can score a 3000 series. I am still rocking a 980 Ti Hybrid. While I can't take full advantage of my new 65" LG CX, I can play most games just fine with the graphics tweaked down a bit. Honestly, the longer I have to wait, the more time CDPR will have to iron out Cyberpunk. Who knows, maybe even some Ti's will be announced by then!
I'm confused here. You start the argument complaining about the false and baseless "forced scarcity". Then you use Nintendo as a base to bolster your point. Then you complain that Nvidia and EVGA screwed the whole thing and how bad they are. THEN you're claiming the other person is "screwed" for still wanting to look into a new gpu. All while you somehow suggest the person to buy an older outdated gpu in a THREAD , about waiting for the newer 3000 series gpus. Not to mention that a few people already countered your arguments with facts. So, What is exactly your agenda or your point?

Dabadger84 For anyone looking at getting a Hybrid card of the 3080/3090 variety: Can confirm tube length from where it goes in to the card, to where it touches the fitting-ends on the radiator is right around or a bit longer than 400mm (can't get exactly exact measurement because of the curve in the lines with it installed).
Can you measure radiator fan and raditor thickness. Read that it was 52mm.

Jacob said in a tweet last week that it was approximately 55mm (fan + rad together). I hope that helps.

svnipp Seriously considering trying to jump on the Hybrid queue that is opening back up tomorrow.
Well... Looks like the case issue isn't actually an issue at all. I honestly thought my chassis would support another 240mm rad and yes indeed it will. I have a Phanteks Enthoo Luxe and I simply need to remove the drive cages and I can pop in a front mounted 240mm rad so I'm in good shape there. Now just to figure out getting into the queue...
