gamernskater Man the list for 9/17 is likely huge. Mine isn't until 9/17 10pm PST for 3080 FTW3 Ultra. I honestly don't think they have enough in stock to get past 9/17 this week. Maybe not even next week.
Here's the list from the spreadsheet of UNFULFILLED orders for the FTW3 Ultra on the 17th alone. I'm sure there are many more not even on the spreadsheet yet. Please just offer the link. A wall of text is not the best idea.
Right, 9/17-9/18 will take weeks. Unless they really have 20,000+ units of them.

I wonder what the average amount of cards they produce per week for the queue is? I know they have stock that they ship out to retailers as well.

EVGA_RobB I know we don't often mention this, but we have been working exhaustively with our programming teams to make this happen. Hats off to them really!
Please give them my thanks. They've been very agile and responsive during all of this. If I had one wish, it would be the ability to remove notifications for cards I'm no longer interested in. I'd like to free up those spots. But otherwise, the programming teams are awesome!

rahimdamji29 It seems like everyone wants a 3080 and no one has them. Very likely it could take months. Regardless. Evga is really thinking about the enthusiast.... And not bottom dollar. I think it's excellent. I already gave my word, I will only buy evga parts for all my pcs for future if they come thru and allow me to buy a card
No they are thinking about the dollar. All companies think about the dollar otherwise they won't exist long. The way they are doing it basically "locks" a customer into a decision to buy evga product. Its a mental thing. If a customer knows that their number will come up eventually they will stop looking at other vendors and stores. They will watch people post happily about getting their order in. This has a psychological effect on people to think "oh they are getting their card, I'm SOOO close, just hang on a little longer". As soon as the customer gets a little impatient a post here reminds them that their turn is coming, all you need to do is hang on a little longer. Now there is a limit to this. People won't wait forever. If EVGA can't fill these orders before other stores start showing readily available cards from other vendors they'll be in trouble because then folks will start thinking, "why should I keep waiting now when I can get my card right now from someone else?" Only the die-hards will stick around and a company can't survive simply on die-hards. Right now though and probably a 2 more weeks maybe, they have the momentum, but beyond that people might start getting annoyed if enough progress isn't made through the list and the days don't start ticking off.

This EVGA system is how releases should be handled. I'm looking for the FTW Ultra 3080 and a similar model from another brand. I at least know I'm in the que and should be able to order mine here within a few weeks. For all I know, it could be months before I get the other model from a different brand.

Not only is the notify queue the best idea around, the step up program is awesome as well. My time stamp for an XC3 black is 9/18/2020 5:22:55 PM Think you just made a return customer for life.

Just want to say again, this is excellent! best way to handle such a high demand in as fair a way as possible. A suggestions to improve, could be two ways I think, either: 1.) It would be great if there was a way to release my notifies, I had signed up for all them, I have my card so I'm all set - but I'll be in queue for other cards as they come up... would be a "nice to have" for me to give those back to the queue. 2.) when I get notified, maybe a second link in the email that will let me immediately release the card back to the pool if I don't want to purchase. again, fantastic work on this system!

You're clueless if you think the 3080s are going to become more readily available in 2-weeks. And sure, some people are impatient and don't like to wait, but what's the alternative? Go back to F5'ing? There's peace of mind and really no stress if people can be patient with EVGA's queue system. You make what EVGA is doing sound like some kind of scam tricking consumers into buying their cards. What they are actually doing, is showing they give a *REMOVED LANGUAGE* about their customers, whether you're too cynical to see it or not. There's nothing wrong with a company working hard to earn their customers. And that's exactly what EVGA is doing.

Oh I agree completely. I actually suggested this on day one here and on reddit that they use the notify me link to create a queue system with a unique purchase link. I should find the post and request a free card for the suggestion :)

Its not a scam, this is actually a good move and how it should have been done week one, but to think that companies do things for anything but making money is not realistic. They do things to increase profits, granted most of the time that means making customers happy means more money, they sometimes go hand in hand but no one should fool themselves into thinking that ANY company does things just to make people happy. If you truely think that they are doing this to make YOU happy and not to sell more cards then believe what you want, but it all boils down to sales. I never said supply of 3080s will stabilize in 2 weeks, but people have limits and it is a delicate balance. Some will reach those limits and some people will wait forever and not realize how long they have been waiting. Its human nature.

for this week that's probably true because a lot of people signed up for every card when the product pages showed up and the fever hit a high during week 1 & 2... So there will be this initial flushing of the queue period. But this happens release fast... So take scenario that 100 cards come into stock - 30 get bought, 70 release in 5 hours, then 50 release in 10th hour, then 30 release in 15th hour, then 20 release in 20th hour, then 5 release in 25th hour.... that still means the 100 cards all got sold within 24 hours. it's not like thousands of cards are going to be building up in the warehouse because of the queue system... it's just more of a consistent daily flow out the door and instead of a big 7 minute bang, it's taking 1-2 days to work through the stock.

Of course companies want to make money. But they can also want to please their customers as well. Those two are not mutually exclusive. Look at a company like EA that would sell you the steering wheel and tires as DLC in a racing game if they could get away with it. They are always among the most hated companies in the world. They have no respect for their customers seeing them as walking dollar signs to exploit in any way possible. And if you can't accept that comparison, look no further than Nvidia and Jensen Huang. He wouldn't care if scalpers bought every last one of these cards and sold them for double or more - because he's getting his money regardless. It's not a problem to him. EVGA could've adopted the same attitude, but they didn't. They are making an effort to get cards in the hands of the people who actually want to keep and use them. They didn't have to do any of that and still could've sold out of their entire stock until next year. So yeah, they want money like every other company. But they go that extra mile and there's nothing wrong with that. They deserve all the wealth and success they get.

I mean I would guess a higher percentage will buy a card through EVGA if they get an email from the notify system because anyone that clicked that probably wants a card and almost no one has ome yet and even if you do you can sell it for 2x+

Might be a good idea to include in the emails a link to 'release card' if you don't want it, that way it's not held for 8 hours unnecessarily.

Brilliant idea. I am on the list for a 3090 Ti FTW3, but had also hit auto-notify earlier on a 3080 of the same. I am not going to go with 3080, going to hold out for the 3090 card.

Has anyone on the list for a 3090 been notified yet? I'm sure they expect to sell fewer 3090s than 3080s so production runs will be less frequent. I'm just curious if anyone has seen an email yet.

gamernskater Man the list for 9/17 is likely huge.
I hope they are not really worrying about sending out to other retailers and focusing on that queue. After all, those are largely going to be guaranteed sales plus amazing PR. If I manage to get a card in the next 2 weeks despite signing up on 10/5 for a 3090, they'll have a lifelong loyalist. So, it would make sense to just roll along on the queue, and given a TON of them are likely scalpers trying to game the system or people no longer interested, 20k cards could go a LONG way in fulfilling the demand. It's a bit of hopeful thinking, but at least for the 3090 I can't imagine the REAL demand could be that high and the bots are clearly getting slapped around given the number of card going back into the queue.
