Right now it feels like anyone that signed up today is going to be waiting months

Why you say that?

Because in all likelihood that's true? I mean if there's a wait period of 5 hours before each card moves on to the next person, and there's going to be absolutely THOUSANDS of waitlisted people at this point, anyone who joined today is going to be waiting absolutely literally months anyway.

I think it's impossible to speculate on.  We have no clue what numbers they are dealing with.  We don't know how big their stock is/will be and we don't know how big the queue is.  We don't even have ballpark numbers.  No one's guess is worth anything.

Agreed. While many of appreciate the gesture, it's ultimately meaningless without some form of metrics. That's why I think if EVGA let us know what date they're up to on which cards, it gives us a better sense. Except, they likely won't do this...

I can tell you for fact the gesture is not "meaningless."
I got the email earlier today and ordered. Nothing meaningless about that. Just pure reality.

Your time will come. Spend it being miserable or reassured that you can 100% get the EVGA card that you want with no bots or other cheating getting in the way. Your choice.

cards are not released after the 8 hours, they are held until the next release of emails.

We all want to get the card of our choice and I know Evga wants to fill our cases with our wishes, but somethings are out of their control including have the cards on hand to sell, shipping is not so simple when there is a huge pond between us and the factories making the boards for the cards. Hang in the fellas and gals our time is coming soon enough. Till then save those pennies and enjoy some gaming till that email drops in your box

I think this is great, thanks EVGA!
I only regret clicking on all of ten of those auto-notify things a while back, can I quickly respond with "I'll wait for the 3090, thanks!" to open up my spot on the 3080 I auto-notified on? No reason for someone to wait five hours for me.

No need to brag. Of course if you requested a notification on September 16 you got your order in today. Nobody's disputing that. What I'm saying is if you're registering for a chance to get a card today you're not seeing one for months. I look forward to being proven wrong, but I'm guessing 2-3 months based on today's email sign-up. At minimum.

Hey, I received a notification that the gpu was in stock earlier in September. Does this kick me out of the system or will it notify me again for a second time when it's back in stock?

Can you provide some evidence of this?  It was purchased off of the EVGA.com website?  Pretty aggressive charge you are making here.

There are some 3080's listed today but I suspect they are NOT from this week, more like last weeks launch or so.

I put my orders in on 16th. All 3080 cards. Nothing today so the list is going pretty long it seems. And I believe in some of them I did it before the 9AM release day.

It is what it is. We will get them.

The seller explicitly admits in his listing that the card was bought today, the invoice shows 10/6/20 even though he tried to cross it out, and the part number on his invoice clearly shows that it was a “notify order.” Looks pretty conclusive to me.

Not bragging at all. That's your own interpretation based on your emotional state right now, instead of reading it as intended.

Anyway, I'm done trying to provide encouragement and positivity. I heard this news and it gave me great reassurance that the struggle was over. A guaranteed opportunity was coming at some point. Other people just hear what they want to hear and found more stuff to whine about.

Some of you only know how to be miserable, no matter what.

So be it.

What's strange is, my older brother and I both signed up for notifications at the same time, in fact I signed up BEFORE him. We were in voice chat on Discord when we did it.

He got his email hours ago, and ordered the card. (His isn't going on eBay, so that's good news.)

I haven't seen anything yet. Luck of the draw, perhaps.

You need to take it up with Memory Express.  EVGA has obligations to fulfill retailer/etailer orders, but in the order and priority it receives.  ME should have never done the pre-order anyways, but it is what it is. You can ask Jacob on twitter if he has any visibility of when ME orders will ship, but ME should be giving you a far better estimate since they are the ones ordering it.  There will always be allocation EVGA sets aside to sell on their own store, as it should.

I click the auto notify button but nothing happens?  Should I get some confirmation when I click Auto Notify?
Edit: I was able to use Incognito and not sign in but just manually enter my name and email and was able to sign up.

Yup it’s great. Can just sit back and wait for that email.

I’m pretty sure this is not the first time they done this system. I can remember that I got my current 1080 same way. Back when nobody could buy cards because of the bit coin crap 2 years ago.

Yep, they're all ending up on eBay.

Now 1 person means "they are all" going on ebay???

Focus on that one guy instead of all the other people saying how happy they are to finally get a card for themselves.
Speaks volumes.

Doame
What you do for people who order and already paid full price at Memory express and waiting to have it!
Do you give the card to people who just use notification first??? Becose we have preorder it since 17 September and wating for it!
EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING.
Do i need cancel order to have it faster? if its yes its so sad!

Thanks

That was a decision and commitment you made with an etailer/retailers. That has nothing to do with EVGA. You have to take up your choice/decision with them, not EVGA.

Also... As spoken to in many threads. EVGA does spread the love. But they also have this thing called "Shipping". So it is not unusual for them to ship to the etailers/retailers first. Then use the allocated portion for their own site.

Many times they have sent stock to etailer/retailers and waited for another shipment to come in for Step-ups, online orders ETC..
