Got my Kingpin Hybrid installed yesterday and I have to say, I'm not all that impressed.
It looks nice and the monitoring display is nice. The unit itself is extremely efficient, getting great timespy scores at lower clock speed than my 3090 FTW.
But not better scores. I'm confused why I cannot OC the Kingpin to the same stable OC that I had before, best I can do is fully 100 mhz LESS than my XOC FTW.
I was able to score 18900 on the FTW card, but only 18713 on the Kingpin.
Either I got a really great FTW before, or I have a dud Kingpin now. Or I'm missing something.
We are in the same boat. I'm experiencing significant disappointment with the Kingpin Hybrid. I installed the "Vince Bios" and had some moderate improvements though
How do I get that bios?
If you email vince with your Serial Number and Name he will send it to you along with the Classified tool vince@kingpincooling.com

Same feeling I had with my 980ti kingpin and that was with an Asic more geared towards water cooling. I'll never buy another till they figure out how to make them perform better on water (doubtful), just not worth it imo especially the completely pointless hybrid design with less than a cup of water for coolant lol. BTW Is there a classy tool or anything that works with the 3080 FTW3 Ultra GPU?

It's quite possible EVGA used whatever gpus they had available to sell the top tier cards instead of cherry picking gpus like they used to. Although many people have said that the hydrocopper bios and hybrid bios are different. The HC bios is supposed to be better. You might want to consider flashing the HC bios to your hybrid
I don't think he can install the HC bios as the hybrid bios has support for the fan on the GPU and the HC one does not.
Nomoss - whats the power draw look like when you are benchmarking?
Average is about 440 watts. I've seen it go up to 460 watts regularly, sometimes hits 490.

There isn't much of a binning process if there is one but the cooler and PCB is better. The LN2 BIOS on the card is 520w should be able to flip the switch on it, Id add active rear VRAM cooling to any 3090

Tis a good point. The less informed need to know that bios flashing is inherently risky especially without a switch. Risk goes up exponentially if you start trying to flash bios' from other manufacturers.

I actually think it was far fewer than that. Based on the number of reports I found online, I would say on a four point scale it was -- at best -- a 2 (4 being best). I think the timeline moved as far as it did because there were very few folks that clicked the auto-notify button in the last few days before the queue announcement was made on 10/5. 500+ cards in my book...that is a 5 on a 4 point scale.

EVGA drops invite to purchase emails to the North American queues Monday through Friday (excluding EVGA holidays). Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays tend to have the biggest drops...some days have zero drops. Best of luck on your watch!
