Well the one benefit here to folks wanting the card is that mining is less profitable, the price point on the 3080 Ti is pretty absurd insuring less folks sign up, so both the flipping potential and the ability to mine on it is compromised. 
 
 I expect far less people to be interested in signing up for the notify for the 3080 Ti.
 

Oh, I think it's going to be an all time crap show. This is who will be pounding on their keyboard when the 3080ti launches.....
 
- Almost everyone who is currently a mile away in one of the 3080 queues. That's a lot of people right there.
- Scalpers. Lots and lots of scalpers.
- Those like me who have been patiently waiting for the 3080ti.
- Those who want to upgrade from a card that they bought two months ago just because it was all they could get at the time.
- Those who can't really afford it, but have yet to convince themselves. They will fret about it until they get the email and then wet their pants over the cost. This is why we have straggler drops. 
 
Don't expect cost to hold back too many people though, even if they can't really afford it. That's what credit cards are for and we are talking about a $1300 item. With tax and shipping figure somewhere around $1420. I would imagine that most people these days have credit cards that can eat an amount like that. If they were already looking at buying a 3080 it's only a few hundred more. If they get a better time stamp than the lump of **** that they are currently holding, of course they will opt for the 3080ti.

Technically it is the morning of an EVGA work day somewhere, so here is the very early update. NVIDIA announced the 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti models at 10 pm PT last night. The 3080 Founder’s Edition is priced at $1199 and the 3070 Ti Founder’s Edition at $599. No news yet on what EVGA will price their models at, but I would imagine the 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra is in the ballpark of $1350 or so (before the Associate’s Code 3% discount). EVGA’s models will include air-cooled, hybrid and hydro copper versions (both FTW3 and XC3) of the 3080 Ti and air-cooled versions of the 3070 Ti (FTW3 and XC3). 
 
A few other notes coming out of tonight’s news: 
     -  I’ve gone ahead and added the EVGA model names to the chart below...and hopefully we will have SKU numbers soon (as that will aid in getting a direct link to the “auto-notify” registration page for the F5 battles to come).
     -  We do not know for certain if all of the 3080 Ti models will drop on June 3, but I doubt it. I anticipate that the 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra and 3080 Ti XC3 Ultras will drop on June 3, with the Hybrids and HCs to drop at a later date. In my mind it would be a bit crazy for the 3080 Ti XC3 HC to drop before the 3080 XC3 HC has dropped...With tonight’s news, I doubt we will ever see the 3080 XC3 HC in the wild. 
     -  EVGA Elite members will get first crack (i.e., a 24 hour head start) at the new queues, so if you need to secure “Elite membership”, please pursue it through either watching EVGA Twitch channel streams (watching generates points which you can use for the membership) or by registering a previously purchased EVGA product through EVGA’s website.    
 
June 3rd at 6 am PT will likely be another F5 battle, so prepare accordingly. If you miss on June 3, there is always the 3070 Ti launch on June 10 (so book your physical therapy appointments now for the week between the launches...the number of PTs who specialize in F5 injuries is extremely limited these days). 
 
For those in the United States, I hope you had a peaceful and reflective Memorial Day. I was able to hug one of my brothers and share a meal with his family for the first time in over a year...and it was good.

Happy Queuesday from the Midwest! Nvidia's announcement wasn't particularly exciting for me with the exception of the 3080 Ti. Just glad I didn't miss the queue opening or anything lol Let's hope the drops are solid this week in anticipation of the new launches although more SKUs has me doubting..

I don't think we need any 3080 Ti or 3070 Ti now at all, the current line is perfectly fine for us gamers, BUT nVidia got other say in it..

Agree, I am not too happy to spend that amount of money on GC but might have to, these are strange days, I am waiting for a card more than six months.... :(
Nvidia is masterful in taking few more bucks from our pockets....

It really depends on how much stock EVGA has on their hands and the number of people in front of you, who managed to sign up early.
 
Though totally irrelevant (given the facts above) and purely for reference, during the 3070 launch the 6:02 AM PST sign ups didn't get served their emails until November 10th or 11th (3070 launched October 29th).
 
Again, how quickly they move down the queue will ultimately depend on how much stock they have.

Thanks! At the time of the launch does the website become really unresponsive? Do we have to constantly press F5 or wait for the page to load? Just trying to be prepared :)
