What Cover, do you have a photo or Link to what you are talking about? Or Could be thinking about the X299 Dark Motherboard?

The RGB LEDs were removed from the final version of the I/O shroud as well. Since there are two RGB headers it should be easy to mod them back in.

I would Wait on the Memory "Memory Compatibility " Coming Soon" CPU's" It took almost 2 week to find Memory for the X299 Dark MB. That was the reason I Created this Thread for Member who were waiting for that MB. Set the "Auto Notify" Up and check back every 30 minutes or so. It was the same way last year when the X299 Dark was released.

What are people's thoughts on the Classified using the Killer NIC? I'm tempted to get the Classified over the FTW because the FTW has been out of stock for months now, but I've read TERRIBLE things about the Killer NIC that really scare me away.

I may have overdone it with the all caps, but a quick google search of Killer ethernet on reddit leads to many threads of people saying how they currently have a Killer NIC and will not be getting one again given the chance in their next build due to memory leak issues and issues playing nice with Windows 10, which requires frequent driver updates. They also mention that Killer tends to come with bloatware. I'm no expert on the subject, so I figured I would ask for this board's opinion given the volume of comments on it elsewhere.

I have a question about the EVGA Z370 Classified K Motherboard after reading about Intel's HDR Support and 4K Blu-Ray playback. https ://communities.intel.com/thread/118311 When looking at the specification of the motherboard, it says HDMI 2.0 but nothing more. Is it just simply HDMI 2.0 or is it LSPCON HDMI 2.0a? Also, does the board support SGX? This motherboard was listed here by Intel: http ://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=13271422&postcount=108 It sure would be nice to get that HDR support for 4K Blu-Ray playback as I am trying to build the highest end PC I can with the appropriate support for 4K Blu-Ray on the Z370 platform and this looks like the motherboard to do it with. Thanks. (PS. I had to break up the links above because I am a new member and can't include URL's yet, sorry for the inconvenience. You'll have to remove the space before the colons in the links if you want to follow them to Intel's and blu-ray's websites.)

There have been complaints on and off for a few years now dealing with the Killer software. I had all kinds of issues with high latency, connection time outs and flat out network drops on my Alienware 17R4. The problems would occur on both wired and wireless connections. When the problem would crop up it was normally a constant problem until doing a complete wipe of Killer's software and doing a reinstall. That would cure it for several days or up to a couple of weeks before the problem reared it's head again. Sure that's just my personal anecdote but it mirrors many complaints I've seen on other forums. I finally had enough and just did away with the software completely.

I have a Killer Wireless NIC in my Dell XPS15 laptop, have never had an issue, first computer that I have owned that I could game on wireless and not be able to tell a difference between the wired and the wireless connection. I am very excited to see what these killer NICs can do on this motherboard. I plan on running another wire to my PC just to take full advantage of this solution.

Personally, I use an X99 FTW K with no issues using the Killer NIC. There have been some times, oddly, where I've had issues with my Intel port, but no issues with the Killer NIC. I don't know if I'd characterize the software as bloat, since the whole purpose of the software is to monitor traffic and provide a simplistic, yet effective, QoS for your network traffic. Motherboards with the E2500 Killer chip have even more flexibility with controlling traffic, including specific websites. I realize that most of us tend to prefer or dislike components or software based on our personal, anecdotal experiences, but I've generally advised people that I think this is a good feature for our motherboards. It certainly doesn't push aside the quality and performance of Intel's network components, but the Killer network chips are a pretty solid alternative - especially for people who want to use the QoS features of the Killer software.

Per our motherboard team, the Z370 Classified K does support HDMI 2.0a through a LSPCON chip. 4K UHD was confirmed to work on NETFLIX. Still waiting on an answer regarding SGX. Edit: Our Z370 and Z270 motherboards support SGX via "Software Controlled": https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/properly-detecting-intel-software-guard-extensions-in-your-applications

Got mine yesterday. Still fiddling with parts. Where did you find the cable set in stock? Is it black? I've been very impressed with the build quality.
