I cant get ram back to 1600 its stuck on 2:8 no matter what i do. Edit: I disabled the new "Turbo Performance" option after reading it fixed the issue on the classy board forums and it fixed the issue with my board as well. only thing i could figure is with "Turbo Performance" enabled it locks you to a 2:8 ratio for higher QPI clocks but maybe its just a glitch idk

I have not updated my bios since I installed the motherboard over the summer. Can anyone tell me if this update would fix the problem of the 20+ second delay I get from the time I press the power button and when I see signs of life on my screen? Once there is video feed to my screen and I see the bois splash screen I boot to my desktop in about 40 seconds. This delay while only 20 some seconds has always annoyed me. Also do you lose the saved configurations when you flash the bois? I would have to fish around and figure out what I had changed from default seven months ago to get my bios back to where it is now if I have to reset it to default.

Installed this bios yesterday and I'm running fine at 200 bclock. I run my RAM on the 2/8 ratio for 1600Mhz. Turbo is disabled on my CPU but as for the new turbo offered in this bios I don't see any difference in performance with the turbo mode on or off. Performance is the same. So far so good, no problems to report.

I finished building my X58 SLI system this Monday, and the first thing I did when I got it running was flash the BIOS, but even on the first startup, there was no 20 second wait. I didn't take note of what BIOS version it came with, but it's one of the new boards with gray/black slots.

I haven't flashed the BIOS to 44 (I'm running Beta BIOS 43) but with this BIOS - once the computer is turned on, after a couple seconds, it immediately sounds like it's turning off then it comes back on and sounds like it goes through a series of tests (I hear the PC speaker making a few ticking noises). Then, the fans slow down and I get the startup POST beep and it goes through the series of data displays as per usual (JMicron SATA connections, etc.). I imagine this is what happens as well with BIOS 44 - no quicker vs the above?

I updated to this BIOS.............running windows 7 with 6 GB DDR3 Patriot RAM . While checking out any changes with windows experience update......my ram score went from 7.8 to 5.5 .....thought not right.....then noticed all my RAM was not showing up! Looking under Computer>Properties it says 6.00GB (1.99 Usable) .......never had problems like this. 6Gb shows on boot post screen. Could not find any settings for this issue in BIOS (Ram mapping..etc). I have Win 7 backed up under WHS so I am going to try a fresh Win 7 reinstall and see if anything changes. Any ideas anyone ? ******** UPDATE *********** (1 hour later) Before I tried a Win 7 reinstall I decided to give something else a shot....... Whenever I reset or update my BIOS (loading defaults before updating) I load my OC profile afterwards. This has never caused me problems before. By fixing this I reset again by loading defaults and entered all my settings manually without loading a profile........THIS FIXED MY PROBLEM. For some reason loading my previous profile did not work on this BIOS update, but it has worked on previous Bios updates. Entered all my settings manually and saved a new profile, now all RAM is recognized in Win 7, and all is well.

My system is running at stock speed, and like I said, it's less than a week old. The only time mine does anything similar is if the power supply or the power strip is turned all the way off, then it does the "double pump" - turns on, runs a few seconds, powers off, then comes back on and starts normally. If I just shut it down in Windows, then turn it on later, it starts up with no double pump. Are you turning your power supply, or power strip, totally off?

If some settings options change you might end up with a setting "off." Also, I have read in a separate thread that the new BIOS changes the default Vtt from 1.1 to 1.2, so you might want to check on whether you need to adjust how much you add to your Vtt. I think you did the right thing by re-entering all your changes.

Why was this not documented in the CHANGELOG? This will destabilize some machines because higher VTT some times leads to instability. May be this was the cause of my recent lockup...[:-(] I am hating Evga for not doing a good job with BIOS releases and not fixing serious issues.

This is where I read this: http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=176541 I have not seen anyone confirm this from EVGA, but I agree that if it was indeed changed it should have been documented. Since this thread is more read, maybe others will chime in on whether the Vtt changed for them. I have yet to upgrade to this BIOS. I am just not sure I would gain anything.

lam_das Jacob, two questions: 1. What's the difference between 43 Beta and 44 final version? Is it worth updating? 2. When are we going to see a fix for S3 issues? +1 Along with all the usual S3 resume issue i am also wondering why do my USB devices sometimes stop working after the S3 resume? Does this new bios fix any of these issues? Good job EVGA not fixing problems but providing more features. yet again.

The last time I heard, they were unable to reproduce these issues; don't shoot the messenger. It's pretty hard to fix something they can't reproduce.

Anyone else having sleep/hibernation issues with this BIOS? My last BIOS I think it was SZ2R maybe, everything worked perfectly. Now when I click my mouse to wake my computer I just get a blinking cursor on a black screen and I have to reboot by flipping the switch. =(

Hey, sylon. Not a nice sig. You arent aware of the fact that they are doing a heck of a lot better than Nvidia, aren't you... Also, i must add, the ethernet ports will not always show up after this flash AND with the update from windows.

EVGA got the E758 wrong. but they did it right with the classified. Did I / we who own the E758 get screwed? Yes we did.

EVGA got the E758 wrong. but they did it right with the classified. Did I / we who own the E758 get screwed? Yes we did. I still believe the S3 issue is not this simple. I have a E758 1.0 board and my S3 works flawlessly. I put it to sleep every day and I think I may have had a problem resuming once or twice. I believe if EVGA had isolated the cause of people's issues with S3 they would fix it. I believe there is some bizarre combination of factors that must lead to it. I have never regretted my purchase of the E758 board. If I had to to it over I would probably have splurged for the Classified, but it was a lot more at the time and the size of the board worried me for my case. I do not feel like I have a beta board at all. I do hope EVGA is able to isolate the S3 problem at some point though, as it is obviously not just a few people with the problem.

Did I / we who own the E758 get screwed? Yes we did. Right... and by that logic, the 790i was the beta for the 758, and the Classified was the beta for the P55, and the P55 beta for the dual socket board... I'm happy with my 758 board - yes I am. It seems clear that EVGA were out to get you personally.

I knew going in that getting a 758 board that would succesfully sleep would probably be a crap shoot. But that is not a deal breaker for me - the advantages of this mb far outweight the disadvantage of not being able to sleep it , at least for me personally. I did get a revision 1.1 758 board, and was hopefully mine would sleep successfully, but it was not to be. It will for 3 or 4 times sometimes, then boom major freeze or bsod. May be related to my X-Fi soundcard drivers, I have read they have caused sleep issues, but who knows. Sleep just ain't that important for me, and thankfully Windows 7 is pretty darn quick on booting up. Other than the sleep issue, this mb rocks for me, and is solid as can be, and an excellent board for overclocking.

jasonanderson lam_das jasonanderson Also, I have read in a separate thread that the new BIOS changes the default Vtt from 1.1 to 1.2, so you might want to check on whether you need to adjust how much you add to your Vtt. Just flashed to 44, and yes, with CMOS cleared / BIOS reset to defaults, although E-leet shows 1.1V on the 'Voltages' tab, the 'Monitoring' tab shows CPU VTT as 1.2V, as does Everest Ultimate. Now I need to start clocking from scratch, but I'm too damn tired lol.
