I'm sticking with good old SZ2C, which is almost a year old now (from April 2009). The most stable and OC friendly BIOS so far on my rock-stable E758+i920 setup. I tried one of the latest BIOS revisions and I could barely boot my OS and when I did, I kept getting random freeze-ups. Going back to SZ2C fixed everything. EVGA

You know one thing I have always wanted to see in a pc bios is to have a option to shut the pc down from within the bios, sometimes I want to go play with a few options in the bios and then shut the pc down, instead of having to save and restart the pc and have to load up windows and shut it down from windows,be nice to see a option called save and shut down.

Hmm. Your attitude towards his avatar offends me. Please stop posting. - I'm joking of course ..just trying to inject some sense of perspective. p.s. "f I am at this page and my 2 yr old daughter or my boss walks in, they don't know that its official nvidia demo and its just graphics and not real image of a woman not wearing much." Your boss may not be too impressed you're reading EVGA forums in business hours, regardless of someone's avatar image, and secondly, I believe it is the responsibility of the parent to monitor what their children have access to. Sorry to butt in, but one person telling others what they should do kind of bothers me. If you want to be democratic about it, start a new thread with a poll asking users to vote whether the avatar is acceptable or not. If the majority says it is unacceptable, then it should go. I believe this image, being an official NVidia demo image in particular, falls within the TOS restrictions for these forums. Of course a MOD has the final say. "Its between me and him. And please let it be like that!" If you feel comfortable expressing your opinion on a public forum, you should not be condemning others for doing the same. For the record, this is the avatar image being discussed:

lam-das: If you find the avatar possibly offensive to your children then make sure that your children do not have the ability to view it while you are online. It is not rwood's place to have to protect your children. It is your's. You yourself stated it does not offend you. That being the case then why run a double standard with your children. If it possibly offends them or you think it may offend them, then it shouldn't matter if it offends you or not. It's what affect it has on them that matters. That being the case then you need to man up and disable the viewing of avatars all together because again, it's not his responsibility. It's yours. As for your boss not liking seeing it, that again is on you. First off it's again not rwood's concern if your boss is offended. If you think he would be then here's a good quick way to avoid that possibility. Do not surf the web or come to forums while you are at work. You're there to work and not play. If anything your boos will be more pissed you are burning up worktime and his money coming to the forums. I doubt the avatar would even be noticed. Lastly, if EVGA Forum MODs and Admin do not deem the avatar as offensive then rwood has no reason to remove it. Again to prevent viewing the responsibity falls on you. So either block the viewing of avatars or suck it up and deal with it. If you look around, you'll find many, many more avatars and signitures that would be more offensive than rwood's avatar. Are you going to police them also? With that, everyone get back to original topic.

I just noticed something: The changelog on BIOS page says 49 Updates: - Removes shutdown action when enabling Virtualization Technology
- Enables CXE Function by Default
- Sets ICH Voltage to 1.1v as Default
whereas this thread seems to indicate that "Enabled CXE Function by Default" wasn't a change. This change may be what some folks have been seeing and cribbing about?? may be? It certainly changes voltage requirements of the CPU.

Got tired of playing this waiting game and upgraded from the beta bios (43) to 49 (reports as 50 like others said). VT works fine for me under Linux. Haven't tested in Windows yet. S3 issues linger on! Documenting again: 1. If I use manual vcore, for BCLK 200, the third resume from S3 sleep just reboots the machine. 2. If I use Auto vcore, for any BCLK, the sixth resume from S3 sleep gives huge temperatures (20-30C higher than normal) on "SYS" and "VREG" AT IDLE. The interesting bit is that 3rd resume doesn't fail with Auto vcore even if BCLK is 200. I can resume 190 as good as 200. The story is same at sixth resume for both BCLK 190 and 200. So, its definitely not the clock generator. Its a different matter that I can't make the BCLK 200 stable with Auto vcore. I need manual vcore for that. But resume behavior is same as 190 for Auto vcore.
