Just received my x570 dark in Australia. I'm too excited lol. One question though can bios be updated without a cpu etc installed? Waiting for the 5800x3d and or other models if they get released

The 5800X3D will likely be April/May. Silly buying a board and waiting that long.

Is it worth me waiting for the 5800x3d or bite the bullet for a 5900x or 5950x? I mainly game at 1440p soon to be 4k while I do other tasks as well. I also worked out i could update the bios without a cpu installed which is pretty handy. Just waiting on a gpu now and sucks we can't get the kingpin cards here anymore and online elsewhere they're ridiculously priced so may wait for a 3090 ti or hold on for 4090 etc

5800X for gaming unless you need the extra cores. Sell the latter when the 5800x3d comes out. It will be the best gaming cpu when it comes out.
 
I do like the AMD innovation as opposed to intels.
