RGB no longer working on my Z20. Checked on 2 machines. Firmware shows 1.38, thought I saw that this was supposed to upgrade it to 1.40?

Do you have an EVGA mouse? When I open the program it shows me the mouse and will update the mouse firmware. When I go to the tan for the keyboard it will check and update that firmware. I would also try unplugging and plugging the keyboard in again to see if the RGB comes back. Finally make sue nothing dimmed the RGB lighting to be off in the settings. I have a cat that walks across my desk so sometimes random settings are changed by two paws pressing keys down.

No mouse. I tried unplugging the keyboard on both machines with no luck. I backed off a version on my main machine but RGB did not come back until I powered it down and back up. Will experiment some more tonight.

Upgraded back to 1.0.25 and everything is working fine. Firmware still at 1.38, not planning on reboot again any time soon...

This morning all RGB was dead once more. If I hit FN I get the indicators showing what keys are available but I can't get anything to take any settings at all. Firmware still at 1.38, how do you force it to 1.40?

The software version was updated recently. Not sure where you saw there was an update to the firmware? Have you tried uninstalling the software and manually deleting any leftover folders/files pertaining to the Unleash software in the Program files (x86)? If not, give it a try and reinstall the latest verion or any other version you wish. See if that helps. Do you have fast startup in Windows enabled? Or Fast boot in the BIOS enabled? If yes to either, disable them and see if that fixes things. A reboot after disabling fast startup would be needed.

When I originally Googled this problem I saw references to a 1.40 firmware but on closer inspection it appears that's for the Z15 :-( I have done a clean install of the software, both the previous version and the current one. I'll check out fast boot settings, I do believe it's enabled (and always has been).

Ok, that clears up the firmware issue. As far as uninstalling the software. A clean install is not likely to remove all the settings stored in your local folders. After you uninstall the software, go in the File Explorer and change the view to show "hidden items". Now go to "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\EVGA_Co.,_Ltd" and delete the UnleashRGB folder. Then go to "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\EVGA" and delete the Unleash RGB folder here as well. Now you have a clean uninstall and you're ready to install the software again. Make sure to reboot before installing the software again for good measure.

Might want to update the title of this thread - it lists the version as 1.0.24.0 instead of 1.0.25.0.

Time to contact EVGA support. Possibly RMA time.

I just cancelled the RMA. This morning I woke the system up (I have things setup to put it to sleep at midnight) and keyboard RGB was back and working. I have a feeling it's going to need an RMA sooner or later but I still have well over a year before the warranty is up, so I'll give it a couple more strikes before I give up on it. What a pain....
