Just noticed that the RTX 3090 XC3 Gaming got listed on NewEgg (US) so I decided to mess around with the pricing filters to estimate the price. I was able to deduce that it is priced at $1549.99 exactly.
 
XC3 Black: 1529.99 USD
XC3 Gaming: 1549.99 USD
XC3 Ultra: 1619.99 USD
FTW3 Gaming: 1729.99 USD
FTW3 Ultra: 1799.99 USD
 

about 50 over what I thought it would be.

$300 is quite a bit but not completely unexpected. I would hope the 10% rumor over the 3080 is false for such a premium. Either way, I doubt these will be in stock for more than a minute. Likely the same as with the 3080.

Wow. That is truly insane. $300 over a founders edition card. That FE cooler certainly costs more to produce than EVGA coolers. The 3080 FTW3 is ~$100 over MSRP, how can they justify $300 extra for the same cooler and same PCB. The 3080 FTW3 and 3090 FTW3 are literally the same card with a slightly different GPU. The cost to manufacture the cooler and PCB is the same. Just adding a tax on top of an already overpriced card just to take advantage. Just because the 3090 GPU costs more than the 3080 GPU doesn't mean the cooler has to cost 3 times more. It's the same thing! Not that long ago custom cards were only slightly more than MSRP. What happened in the last 2 generations? AIB prices are now just insane. The whole point of FE cards were that they were supposed to cost MORE than AIB cards. THE FE is supposed to be the top end price. If anyone remembers the 2080Ti launch the FE price was $1199 and the MSRP was supposed to be $999 but AIB partners just decided to charge the same as FE anyway and go up from there. (I know EVGA offered a $999 card but it was short lived and lesser silicon) This has gotten out of control. You want an extra $100 for the ugly rainbow cooler, fine, but $300!!! Come on EVGA

Completely agree, but this seems to be the new norm for the extreme high end unfortunately. I actually had a chance to try out a coworker's 3080 FE and with a case with good airflow (HAF X 942) at only 60% fan speed it topped out at 66C after an hour at full load. Quite impressed with nvidia this time around. The key thing EVGA (and some others) have going though is the potential for more voltage and higher power limits. The FE cards are more restricted in that regard.

Agreed.  I figured 1650-1700 for the FTW. $1800 for that seems excessive considering the competitors. Are these going to be a high stock clock? The gigabyte at that price has the Temp Display on the card.. What sort of material is that red smiley made out of?

The Titan Xp/X and I believe even the RTX Titan had optimized drivers that are normally only available for Quadros, with limited performance of course. 
 
So a Titan card would actually be worth it if someone does work on it.

  Wow that's a lot higher than I was expecting (3080 FTW3 is $789, same PCB). At that rate you might as well go with the $1800 Strix and be guaranteed to be able to put it under a water block right away. 
 
It took EKWB one year to make a block for 2080 Ti FTW3.

iCX3 sensors vs being able to put it under a block right away. No other real differences, other than the Asus board may be more reliable as they've automated their manufacturing process. We've yet to see the TDP of Asus Strix 3090. This time around the TDP of what card you go with will be of utmost importance as the boards vary so wildly from each other, there's no guarantee that vbios from one card will successfully flash to another.
