I wonder what that means for the kingpin pricing, the 2080ti kingpin was priced well above that of the 2080 ti FTW ultra, so does that mean a $2200-$2500 kingpin?

Wow. That is truly insane. $300 over a founders edition card. That FE cooler certainly costs more to produce than EVGA coolers. The 3080 FTW3 is ~$100 over MSRP, how can they justify $300 extra for the same cooler and same PCB. The 3080 FTW3 and 3090 FTW3 are literally the same card with a slightly different GPU. The cost to manufacture the cooler and PCB is the same. Just adding a tax on top of an already overpriced card just to take advantage. Just because the 3090 GPU costs more than the 3080 GPU doesn't mean the cooler has to cost 3 times more. It's the same thing! Not that long ago custom cards were only slightly more than MSRP. What happened in the last 2 generations? AIB prices are now just insane. The whole point of FE cards were that they were supposed to cost MORE than AIB cards. THE FE is supposed to be the top end price. If anyone remembers the 2080Ti launch the FE price was $1199 and the MSRP was supposed to be $999 but AIB partners just decided to charge the same as FE anyway and go up from there. (I know EVGA offered a $999 card but it was short lived and lesser silicon) This has gotten out of control. You want an extra $100 for the ugly rainbow cooler, fine, but $300!!! Come on EVGA
Except the FTW3 has a bigger heat sink 
I was referring to the fact that the 3080 and 3090 coolers are the same for each type of card. FTW3 cooler is the same on each 3080 and 3090. Same with XC3. Obviously the FTW3 and XC3 coolers are a different size.

I'm thinking it's largely percentage based, 810 is about 15% more than 700, or a 15% premium for the FTW3 ultra over the base model, the difference between 1500 and 1800 is an extra 20%, so from that view point, it's not a huge gap.

I dont know... 100 over msrp I can get... 300 is a bit much. The difference between 3090 fe and ftw3 is an entire series s . It better bring some insane performance for that.

It could be a simple matter of yield. 3080 chips are 3090 chips that have sections locked out due to processing defects. I’d bet the days of Intel-like behavior and intentionally hobbling good cores for sales at lower tiers are long gone. Smaller features mean more defects are fatal to affected structures. 3090 chips are probably just significantly more rare. Premium 3090 chips with high overclockability are probably like hen’s teeth.
It may not be price gouging. It could be just yields on the best chips.

I would get the FTW3 Gaming personally (I still feel bitter after knowing the price) as it’s $70 less compared to Ultra and the only difference is an overclock that I can do myself anyways but Jacob said they’ll have more of the Ultra (of course they would) so I hope I find one in stock :(
I also hope they launch on Amazon (US). I got gift cards there to cover a large percentage of the cost so that’s my only option right now.

Are these at least binned? I'm expecting the best overclocking for this price tier. Forget cooling give use the best silicone Where is the content for the 3090 btw? Isn't this thing supposed to release in 2 days? Forget reviews we havent even seen unboxings. Do reviewers even have the card?

You’re right but the same was done with the RTX 3080 (also from Newegg) and the prices stayed the same. (Maybe the XC3 Black received a $20 discount but other than this others had the same prices). I hope the prices go lower a little bit specially for the FTW3/Ultra.

Yeah, I honestly can't stand the way EVGA and NVidia run things, (although I like EVGA over all the other manufacturers besides sometimes MSI) but I detest AMD products, and they unfortunately have me in an awkward position where I am willing to pay for this hardware to upgrade, but I'm going to complain about it the whole time. Not the 3090 mind you, but for the 3080, so they haven't lost my business.

Don't really understand why a gamer would want a 3090? Why pay more than double the money for MAYBE 10-15% better performance? That's just a stupid amount to pay for a few frames per second. Also, all of these cards will be obsolete and worthless in a year or two....it's just dumb.

There are two kinds of people. Those who want the absolute best of everything and don’t care about the true value. And those who also game but need something stronger for other tasks that require a GPU. I am personally the second. Gaming is important to me but that’s not what I spend most of my time on.

$1,800 for 1800MHz (boost). That's a huge price difference from the 3080. Having problems trying to legitimize spending that much, and a whole bunch more on top if I want to water cool it.. I could use the extra memory, but sheesh... Might have to wait for the 3080 Ti/Super.

I assume and hope the EVGA rtx 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming will clock better then the other cards out there otherwise it isn't really worth it. I heard somthing about 2,1 ghz for EVGA rtx 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming
