Earlier in this thread I said the issue is fixed on my machine, I was mistaken.
It's better now no doubt, with the newer versions of PX1 when the problem happens it corrects itself most of the time, but it keeps coming back.
Latest v1.3.3.0 of PX1 (also happened in previous versions, including the beta)
3080 FTW3 Ultra 10G-P5-3897-KR
VBIOS 94.02.42.80.31
Firmware 2.01.22
Driver 512.59
Windows 10 21H1
When I was using an EVGA z170 stinger mobo these issues never happened, using this same exact GPU.
I have an ASRock x570 steel legend mobo now;
the issue has happened ever since I started using this mobo. What I'm seeing:
1. PX1 controlled RGB LEDs randomly revert to rainbow wave, even though that does not match PX1 settings.
and/or...
2. The 3rd fan goes "off-profile" and runs at a high speed while the other two are not, all three should use the same fan curve.
3. There's a >95% chance it automatically resets back to saved settings. Sometimes in a flash, other times after a few minutes. <--- this seems to be what PX1 beta v1.2.6.3 added, the behavior appears the same in 1.3.3.0
- This cycle happens sometimes once a day, other times 10+ times a day. Seems to happen more when I don't interact with the system.
- Sometimes it won't reset itself successfully and will stay on rainbow wave for several minutes.
- I've also seen different LED "zones" get reverted to rainbow while others are still using their saved setting. EG the bar on the GPU goes to rainbow but the ARGB strip stays its set color and vice versa.
- It happens with PX1 in the foreground or minimized.
It's annoying that it keeps going back to rainbow wave, even if it does fix itself within a few seconds usually.
As well, on a cold boot it reverts to rainbow wave, the saved RGB settings aren't applied until PX1 is started in windows.
On a warm boot, (power cord not removed from the system) the saved settings are used before windows starts.
I think it's got to be motherboard related. Is there any information about what causes the problem, that I could take to my motherboard manufacturer's support department?
Or maybe some way could be created to allow the user to change the RGB
hardware default from rainbow wave to something else, so when the problem happens it's less annoying?
