My budget is in the $1K-$1.2K range TOPs and that would have to include a waterblock or bought separately. In this stage of the game, you're basically paying for a slight OC with a massive air cooler (2 1/2 or 3 slot) and software development for $250+ more from reference design priced at $1K. Those under custom liquid cooling could careless about the air cooler. The thing is, they usually charge more for a Hydro Copper series GPU on top of the already existing pricing scheme so this worries me that we'll be seeing Hydro Copper's in the $1350-$1500 range. The question I have is this. Can you still get high OC's from a reference GPU with less power phases versus one in the higher ups with more phases? I would believe you could if you got lucky with the lotto but I can't recall if this was happening before at that level, meaning someone with a reference beating someone who spent for a FTW3 for example. Obviously this would exclude a Kingpin. Edit: They didn't add much info or I must've missed about NV-Link and if it's the same capabilities of combining the VRAM on these new GPUs. Can someone verify this because I didn't see anything of the type on the EVGA site when it talked about the NV-Link but said it was the new high bandwidth link. The reason why I'm asking is because I'm thinking maybe I can grab two 2070s and slap them together for a possibly total of 16GB of VRAM and hope the performance is enough to beat a 2080 Ti for less and still pay almost the same amount for x2 GPUs with WB's included. Edit#2: I will post lots of different information here so people aren't running around searching for info they might miss.

IIRC, the only part the 2070 was brought up was because of its price point and in comparison the TitanXp to which they went back to the talk about the greatness on the 2080 Ti. They kinda danced around the higher price points of the higher ups while still displaying the pricing on those GPUs prior to ending the event. lol

I'm glad there is finally a replacement on the horizon for my aging 980Ti. I too WC, will probably go with a Ti, but just depends what blocks come out, but like OP waiting with baited breath for some benchmarks, so can get a decent comparison.

I don't believe the RTX 2070 will have NVLink. Its not listed on the specs for that card.

This made me laugh. I wouldn't jump on SLI right away anyway as there are still a fair amount of unknown (probably for the better) with how SLI will be implemented using NVLINK.

Glad I made you laugh today. I think SLI/NVLink will be fine if it combines VRAM, giving devs more room for w/e even though some might argue they don't need that much. I'm starting to have my doubts and why the RTX 2070 was pushed 1-2 months after the RTX 2080 Ti and 2080 are released. It will be a while to see it's benchmarks while the other's are already released. I'm starting to be suspicious that compared to the pricey silicon versus the 2070s $499 price tag, that it could bring too much heat on the upper SKUs therefore it was pushed back. I'm not sure what to think anymore but my suspicions were raised when the whole event was all about Ray Tracing (think of Phsyx and the likes), "20xx series from $499!" and not about RAW performance versus the previous gens. The comparison from the 2070 to the Titan Xp was most likely based on Ray Tracing performance and NOT RAW performance. So much to think about.

I posted this elsewhere and I'll post this here. Interesting perspective here. Source Source Maybe I'm wrong here but I believe the inflation numbers calculated here seem off. The inflation numbers are usually on a rise, never lower. We're constantly losing buying power. I just wanted to show the non adjusted regular Price from early 2000s till now.

Very nice, thanks for the info. It makes sense that a $500 card sold in 2012 costs less in 2017 dollars than a $500 card sold in 2000. The compounded inflation is less the closer you get to the present time.

Ok well that freakin sucks! No NV-Link for 2070 because it would have been the better deal and most of us could afford. Instead, they want you to pull out a mortgage and grab two for any of the higher two premiums. Thanks Nvidia! SourceI guess I'll be getting either the 2080 or most likely the 2080 Ti and call it a freakin day. Still waiting on benchmarks before I pull any triggers.

Perhaps a lot of driver optimization and game patches are due, but early performance numbers for real-time ray-tracing on NVIDIA's thousand-dollar GeForce RTX 2080 Ti don't look encouraging. German tech publication PCGH tested the enthusiast-segment graphics card on "Shadow of the Tomb Raider," one of the poster-boys of NVIDIA's upcoming ray-tracing acceleration, and found that with all its eye-candy cranked up, the card barely manages 30 to 60 frames per second at Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels).
NVIDIA and Eidos (developers of "Shadow of the Tomb Raider") were quick to respond to the PCGH story. They stated that the build of the game demoed at Gamescom is pre-release, and the studio is still optimizing it for NVIDIA GeForce RTX series; and that the GeForce RTX hardware is running on pre-launch beta drivers that are yet to pack "Game Ready" optimization for SOTR. Catch PCGH's video presentation in the source link below.

I guess you'll like this video I'm about to post. Probably the best news so far. n the demo above, called Infiltrator, which I videoed at the technical seminar today in Cologne, Germany, in otherwise identical systems, an RTX 2080 Ti using DLSS (on the right) to similar effect as TAA, was twice as fast as a GTX 1080 Ti using TAA (left). You'd expect the new GPU to be faster, but using Nvidia's own numbers, the performance boost over the GTX 1080 Ti is typically up to 50% in games.

GeForce RTX will be amazing gaming cards. This so much advanced hardware and Graphic Processor compare to Vega... I'm sure I will stay with Intel and NVIDIA for gaming and iPhone cell phones. They make me happy... OK sometimes I 'm very angry... when Intel exclude me from i7-8086K chance.

$1200 for a TI? Doesn't that anger you when you see a ridiculous price like this? And who here feels that these cards are nothing more than a place holder for 7nm? If true, then this would be a perfect example of a Cash Grab.

Everyone has the right to be upset or happy. Here, preorder this and we'll give you more information on the product after you purchased it, clock speeds, etc. See how that sounds? I think they dropped the ball and created the big hype first instead of letting the real data create the hype naturally. Again, I hope this is uber successful as I'm planning on getting one but not till I see benches. Speaking of which, we should get the reviews and much needed benchmarks we've been waiting for all this time in the coming days. I'm kinda of excited for them. lol We'll see how I feel after.

The 2080Ti has 21% more cores than the 1080Ti, excluding Tesla cores for ray tracing, yet it costs 100% more than 1080Ti's since the cheapest is £599 in the UK. I'm sure the GDDR6 will boost the performance more than the 21% increase in core count, but enough to justify the premium price tag for ray tracing that is rumoured to only be playable in 1080p? Only time will tell.
