Installed the 2080 Ti on my EVGA Z87 Classified board tonight. When Windows 10 boots I get weird artifacts on the screen (Asus ROG Swift PG348Q Monitor). Drivers for the new card install but I get error code 43 in Device manager for the card. I can't change screen resolution without artifacts on screen and it says Windows has disabled the device. 2080 Ti has the latest FW and I installed the latest Driver package with Geforce Experience. Still not working.. Defective 2080 Ti Card? Tried two separate PCIe slots as well and all PCIe power cables. Reinstall the 1080 FTW I have and it all works fine.
Lot of $ to be this disapointed...

    What CPU are you running?
Did you uninstall the old Driver and run DDU before you installed the NEW Card?
Did you update your Motherboard Bios to the last one released?
Did you set the Bios to Force x16 and GEN3?
Are you using a 750 Watt PSU or Higher?
Are you using to Separate PCIe Power Cables to your Graphics Card?
What OS and OS Version are you running like Windows 10 1803 or 1709 and so on.

Get Rid of Geforce Experience. Use Driver 416.16 and Reset your Motherboard to the Default Settings NO OC on your MB.
Install only the Graphics Driver and PhysX Driver and now new the USB Driver. Nothing more.

Code 43 can mean a lot of things...

    #1 Fauly card.
    #2 Fauly pci-e slot.
    #3 Registry corruption.
#4 Card not receiving enough power.
    #5 Corrupt vbios.

Since you're getting artifacts it sounds like it's #1.

CPU Intel core i7 4790K no over clock
Removed old driver with latest DDU in safe mode
Installed newest driver pkg with GeForce Experience. No dice.. uninstalled it all again and tried just the stand alone driver pkg... Same issues.
Motherboard Bios is latest release. Older board but works fine. No issues and stable with GTX 1080 FTW.
I'll check Bios on Force x16 and Gen 3 not sure what it's set at.. I'll check tomorrow. Pretty sure it's set to Gen 3 though.
PSU is Corsair 1200 watt. Plenty of juice.
Separate cables from PSU to GFX card. Cables seem fine both are hooked up to my GTX 1080 FTW at the moment and that card works perfectly.
OS is Windows 10 latest release and up to date.
I tried two separate PCIe slots. Same issues in both slots. I uninstalled the driver, cleaned reg with ccleaner then reinstalled driver again in case of registry issue with old drivers. All the other drivers install and work fine audio, usbc etc. but video has lots of artifacts during boot and my native resolution isn't even an option. Setting it above what it boots at imediately shows weird artifacts on the screen. Have to revert back to it's previous resolution. I also downloaded the latest FW offered in the forums here for that card to make sure the vbios was up to date. That went through fine.
Tried to cover all my bases before posting for help.. *sigh*

a guy in reddit post stated that lowering gpu mem speed by 50mhz solved artefacting/crashing for him.
but the problem is that you cant apply mem/gpu clocks in windows using msi ab/xoc utility without working driver.
and changed clocks applied only at os/software startup, artifacts at boot mean that situation is fubar.

i wonder how tf these failed cards are passing double qc system?

     use evga associate code NQL8M9VKNY5EO99

Ya I saw the post on Reddit. Still I shouldn't have to under clock anything in my opinion for a gfx card that costs $1200+. Right? This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with an EVGA/Nvidia product. I sent it back to Newegg today for a replacement. Here's to hoping the new one works or I'm getting a refund.

take it for what you will. All this talk of dieing 2080ti cards is making me rethink the stepup program and keeping my 1080ti.

I received my new RTX 2080 Ti from Newegg yesterday. Removed all existing drivers. Shut down the PC, Inserted the new RTX and booted up the PC. No issues what so ever. Installed the newest Nvidia Driver and all is working as it should. I guess I just got a bad first batch card. Thanks to all for the help/suggestions from everyone. Now.. need some games with Ray Tracing to try out..
