Does anyone know how many GPUs are supported now?

4

I thought in the patch notes they said they increased the number of GPUs supported? Trying to find out what that number is. I have 12 GPUs and don't want to install it if that many are not supported.

6.2.3 only supports 4. The newer versions have been pulled.

Obviously both 6.2.4 and 6.2.5 need some more work and QC testing before released. We have pulled both these versions for now and apologize for the problems as we work to correct it.

I honestly believe this is the best action taken right now, thanks for keeping in touch.

We all fall and stand up to learn from mistakes, even companies.
Hopefully this is something that EVGA learns from.

Most passionate EVGA fans that come here regularly will see EVGA is trying their best and are less likely to leave the brand.
But if most regular costumers get in touch with software that is totally not functioning the way it was expected and is critical for steering the brand's hardware, that could mean high damages in imago and sales in the long term.
Trust arrives on foot but leaves on horseback.

Don't get me wrong EVGA, but your software is required to properly control the hardware.
It is just as important as making sure your hardware is built properly and durable.

Testing is simply expensive and time consuming, we all know it, but it is very much required if you want to make sure you put out a good product.
It will only become more expensive in the long run if you decide, as a company, to release software that isn't up par with what is expected from it from the usual end-users.
And it's never good if software malfunction can lead to damaged hardware and thus more costs.

Having to change your software after it is sent out to the world is more expensive than solving the issues during production, and it saves the imago of the company.
If software is not ready yet to be released because of such severe bugs it's probably best to wait a little longer and iron the most obvious things out.

I know some people would wonder where the updates are because they are used to more frequent updates, but it is no use to put out a product that malfunctions in aspects where it should never.

This post is not a rant but simply aimed to assist and inform.
I'll look forward to the next release with fixes.

Maybe release a "beta" version of the software, i'm sure some ppl from the community (me included) will be ready to install it and note any quirk.  That way you will avoid alot of negative feed back, and the ppl that want "release" version will have it.

Cheers!

Is there no longer a way to set colors to the HWM tray icon numbers? For instance setting fan speed to say "blue" or gpu temp to say "green." Or am I missing something?

The version check in 6.2.3 still alerted me to 6.2.4 and downloaded and installed it. Went to the page to find patch notes just to see that it wasn't listed. Then came here to find it had been pulled. You may have pulled the link from the site but the program itself still downloads it from the server without any warning that it had been removed for errors.

Might want to fix that.

Thanks for pulling it EVGA. Might want to make sure the app can't auto download it... I know you guys aren't a software company by any stretch of the imagination, but ya'll really need to get some basic industry best practices going. I'm hard on you because I'm not interested in switching brands, and I've been an EVGA advocate for.. a long time now - but this debacle is really giving me pause.

EVGA has gone from a world class support organization managing top tier Mobos, GPU's, and PSU's, and the software being okish could be overlooked to a company where the support is world class, the GPU's are mid tier, the mobo's are feature lacking and overpriced, the PSUs are still top of the line, the cases are a JOKE (DG-77 costing that much with those filters and no air flow? Seriously? You spend all your money on putting logos on the screws and that stupid sticker everyone told you they hated?) and the software is actually dangerous to use.

It's a shame watching another great company like EVGA go through the marketing takeover.

New graphical user interface indeed does not allow setting this individually.
Switch to Kingpin skin from settings menu -> interface, then open OSD settings which is the old menu used in 6.2.3.
If you set the colours there and switch back to default skin, tray icons will still be coloured seperately.

You're right, this is the location Precision XOC appears to fetch its update from:

Go in the settings and tell it "Never check for updates" until this issue gets resolved...

That obviously shouldn't be happening, I'm sorry to hear things severely messed up.
I don't think I've read about people having a totally messed up Windows installation from Precision, maybe it somehow conflicted with other software, really odd.
There's an infinite amount of possibilities when it comes to system configurations unfortunately.

Wow, am I ever glad/lucky I happened to notice Precision XOC was bugged and displaying power and memory temp at ambient.... otherwise I would have had no idea.

Very disappointed.

Not sure if anybody has reported that bug already -
but for me it seems like ALL OF MY temps - except for GPU1 - of my ftw3 are just fixed.
no matter if the card is in idle or on full load. every temperature except for GPU1 stays the same.

Re: EVGA Precision XOC 6.2.4 Available Now 2018/04/14 12:13:08 (permalink)
Hey @EVGA_JacobF @EVGA, here's what I want fixed in XOC.  I'm currently on v6.2.3.

1.  THIS IS CRITICAL:  XOC has had a bug (memory leak I assume) that causes it to silently crash-exit after the computer has been running for a few days.  Like most, I S3 sleep my system instead of shutting down for like the last 20 years.  This means sometimes don't reboot for weeks at a time.  I have XOC set to auto-start with windows.  The KEY PROBLEM with this is that when XOC crashes it takes fan control with it.  This is bad.  I have a XOC custom to fan profile set my 1080 to stop the fans when the card is idle (keep dust out) and never let it exceed 60C when running.  This works great until XOC silently crashes.  Sometimes I run a game or do transcoding, whatever that hits the graphics card hard.  When XOC isn't running and has left the fan stopped I see GPU temps skyrocket (although impressively it doesn't seem to go over 80C or so even with the fan stopped, kudos for that).  This just happened BTW, it's why I'm here - to check for XOC updates in the (long held) hope you'd fix some bugs instead of layer on the LED control bling.  You guys need to both fix your XOC crash bug AND push the current fan profile into the card (if this is possible) so that even if XOC crashes the card doesn't lose fan control.  But DONT YOU DARE remove my ability to stop the fans.  I'd rather live with the current situation than crash.

2. Jesus, an unavoidable splash screen?  Am I reading this right?  What are you guys smoking?  Zero value.  I will skip updating XOC just to avoid this kind of ass-hattery.

3. Bling is nice and all, but some of us (most of us?) would prefer it if you went back to basics.  Stick your LED crap in another app for those who want it.  Go back to a standard UI.  Id suggest a simple default of graphing ONLY card into (load, voltage, temps, fan speed) over time.  Make the app robust.

Ok, /rant.

Make sure Hardware monitor is tracking the other sensors otherwise they are not updated in Precision XOC 6.2.5 and older, this also has effect on fan curves...
This is fixed in 6.2.5.1 BETA.

1) Interesting, did you also ever observe a bluescreen if the PC has been running in idle for a few days?
Since I've gotten my 1080Ti and have Precision XOC running I've had 2 or 3 times the past year that the PC would bluescreen and restart if it was running for like 20+ hours non-stop.
This was only observed so far with some older Precision XOC versions as I don't do this very often.

Not sure if it still happens and if it's related to Precision XOC or the new GPU in combination with newer drivers versus my older 780Ti and EVGA PrecisionX V4.2.1.
Running Win7 x64 SP1 Ultimate with 382.05 WHQL drivers, nothing else changed but the GPU and drivers and having Precision XOC.

Also I don't believe saving custom fan curves onto the hardware is currently supported, unfortunately.
You can however set static manual fan speeds that stick if Precision XOC is closed.

2) They added a function to 6.2.5.1 BETA to disable the splash screen when EVGA Precision XOC is set to run minimized.

Obviously both 6.2.4 and 6.2.5 need some more work and QC testing before released. We have pulled both these versions for now and apologize for the problems as we work to correct it.

So yes they have been pulled and instead a beta has been released but not meant for wide exposure.

Re: EVGA Precision XOC 6.2.4 Available Now 2018/04/15 06:05:26 (permalink)
I am using Precision XOC 6.2.4 with a Aorus GTX 1060 6gb the 9gbps memory version. Since the update I've had a reoccuring issue at start up where the fans don't automatically go into the custom fan curve I have set. The stock fan curves includes the fan off feature which I'm not overly fond of.

Unfortunately 6.2.4, 6.2.5 and 6.2.5.1 beta have issues with fan curves, try using version 6.2.3 instead.

Same here, HAVE SET FANS every freakin day to PREVENT overheating. Fans are not running at all, I have seen temps above 90C and no fans running in my 1070 system.

I  went back to 6.1.16

Look- some of my problem with Windows 10 may be that now the backup software ( acronis ) is acting more like a internet security program or the  real internet security program is getting in the act but some  times the newer P-XOC versions were not even loading at startup.

Let us at least have a list of know problems

and where we need to send a Logitech keyboard so the programmer has one to test.
