So POCX 6.1.15 is causing a vertical flashing color bar on the left side of the screen for me when OSD is enabled in a couple games I tried (Rise of the Tomb Raider & CoD MW Remastered.  Is anyone else seeing anything like this?

Disabling fcat will stop that problem.

Thanks, that worked.  What is fcat for anyway?

And it appears that the OSD is not available in DirectX 12?

Precision has been known to have issues with its osd. The game you're playing may not be supported by evga's osd.

PLEASE can the next release support more than 4 GPUs? I have a 10 GPU system (and adding another 3 tomorrow) and it really bites that I can only tweak the first 4 cards :(

Just out of curiosity, what kind of motherboard supports a 10+ GPU setup?

Edit: i see my link wasn't showing:

13 GPU's supported: Asus H110 Pro BTC+

The 19 GPU board is about to be released.. Really need to be able to tweak more than just 4 GPUs :(

LOL I thought the same thing, based on one post etc. I thought it was a total troll.  Apparently boards do exist, something about a "mining rig".

The start of the build: 8 GPUs..

11 GPUS:

12 GPU's working! I'm short one 6 pin power connector for my 13th GPU.
So pretty please, daddy needs to be able to overclock all of them :D

Re: EVGA Precision XOC 6.1.15 Released 2017/09/01 03:08:02 (permalink)
Hello everyone,

I'm encountering a strange problem and I'm not sure if it's related to Precision, the driver, or the GPU itself. I'm running driver version 385.41 and Precision 6.1.15. My clocks between my 2 Titan X cards are not always synchronized.  I took a couple screen shots of Precision between the two cards as an example.

The same goes for in game too.  For instance, if I'm playing Overwatch, OSD will show the second card maintaining it's clock rate while the first card goes between the K boost rate and a lower clock.
I have the NVIDIA Control Panel setting for Power Management set to Prefer Maximum Performance as well, so there should not be any throttling.
This ends up causing instability and I have to reboot my PC in order to recover from it.

I'd love to hear any suggestions on how to fix this, or, if anything this can serve as a bug report.

4? I have it running with 8 Titan XP's and no issues.

And can you share details how run Precision at least with 6 cards? I have 1080Ti FTW3 and cant start Precision due 4 GPU limit. Thanks.

I call non-sense! I have 13 GPU's working perfectly and when Precision XOC starts up it specifically says "Too many GPUs".
Precision XOC 6.1.15 ***ONLY*** tweaks the first 4 GPUs and the rest operate at stock settings.

I would think that is the limit (4 GPUs) but contact EVGA tech support to be sure.

13 EVGA GPU's working perfectly.. Now if only their OC software would let me overclock the cards that would be great ;)

Thanks guys, tried it out last night.  I think I'll keep it around since I'm probably going to need it soon for a new 1080/Ti but yeah the OSD definitely falls flat for me.  That was actually a feature I used heavily from Afterburner and the nice single line layout was very attractive.  XOC requires at least 3 lines to display the same info and gets in the way because of that for some games like WoW where I have a lot of stuff displaying even in the corners of the screen.

Position the osd lower or another position. You will be able to see your info.

AS per usual, it's garbage.

I am running some mining programs. When I try to benchmark the program, the first thing it does is crash, black screen, then come back with most of the PXOC blacked out and sadisticallsy slashes my memory clocks by five hundred million cycles per second.
Then, it sadistically and megalomaniacally refuses to raise the memory clock until I stop everything and reboot the whole computer.

What an idiotic program.
Notice how, for demonstartion, my mem clock is cranked up 2000 MHz. But, what does PXOC deign to give me? the stock mem clock.

Wow. That is amazingly stupid.

Why would the slider exist? To be frustrating and useless?

Why don't you fix your program, EVGA? NO version you have ever put out has failed to do this, "punishment underclocking."

Here's a clever idea. let me know if I need to break it down further.
A. Make it so whatever changes we try are enacted immediately, not sometime after a reboot in June of next year.
B. If it causes instability, then PXOC restores settings to prior settings, not punish us by slamming the mem clock down below 3000 MHz.
C. Then, we can incrementally creep our settings up to optimal.
D. Make it so ALL presets do not lose ALL THEIR MEMORY OVERCLOCK SETTINGS WHEN YOU SADISTICALLY AND VICIOUSLY PUNISH US FOR TRYING TO OVERCLOCK, YET AGAIN.

You act like EVGA and Precision has any major control over what the NVIDIA drivers and Windows does. Hint: no, it doesn't.
Precision uses an NVIDIA API to manipulate features in NVIDIA's drivers. Unfortunately, the majority of what you requested is not in Precision's control. Precision can't keep GPU boost from doing what NVIDIA tells it to (although it sometimes tries hard) and can't in any way predict what sort of overclock will prove unstable nor control how NVIDIA's drivers and Windows reacts to the instability which causes a driver crash and driver reset into limp-mode. Like always has been the case with Precision or any other overclocking tool, it is your job to test for stability and adjust the overclock as necessary until stability is achieved.
Precision says: I want this frequency. NVIDIA's driver responds: too bad -- the card doesn't have enough load, or has too much load, or is too hot, or is being used for GPU compute which requires higher accuracy.... and therefore I will only give you THIS frequency. Precision says: well, I tried.
Same sort of "conversation" occurs if you overclock too high and the card becomes unstable and NVIDIA'a driver detects the instability/crashes.

No responses, so, oh well, looks like I'll be RMAing a $1200 card (or two) to play it safe.  I sure hope EVGA still has some Titan X Hydro Copper cards around.

The fact that I have to reboot the computer to get the PXOC to work semi-normally again does not indicate that Nvidia's drivers are at fault. I didn't get new drivers. I just rebooted.

Try with MSI Afterburner or any other NVIDIA overclocking tool and see the same result. ;) It is the reaction to NVIDIA's display driver timeout procedure via Windows' WDM which causes the driver to fall back into a limp-mode where the driver defaults to certain unchangeable settings in order to try to prevent the computer from locking up completely due to instability.
As you have experienced, the easiest way (and I think best way) to get out of that mode is to restart the computer.

I noticed that your power target are at 90% ! The voltage are at default. Don't expect to have a good overclock with that setting.

I'm having the same issue, getting no reports of the program crashing, but when I go to bring it up out of the tool bar it just disappears and i have to re open it, sometimes when i'm re opening the porgram i find that my card 1080ftw is running very hot, 90 degrees in some cases, the card is normally @ 60-70 even when at full load. Not to sure whats happening.

Hi, can you please explain how to setup precisionXOC for more than 4 cards? I'm running 7 and need it to control the fans of the 1080ti  elite gaming... because afterburner can only control 1 fan.

Thank you very much.
