Despite it being part of the title in the forum, on the release page in the notes for the version it no longer says "Please note this version ONLY supports GeForce RTX graphics cards. GeForce GTX support coming soon." which was seen on all other versions to date. However, it does still say RTX only in the system requirements

I guess it's still RTX only, just not quite as much as before?

I can't get any profiles to save.

Auto fan control disabling itself at random seems to be fixed though, which is nice. Almost cooked my 2080 with 0.2.9 because of that bug, haha. Thankfully I caught it pretty quick, it hit 87c at peak, oof.

I can't get OSD to work at all..... Can someone help me? I'd like to display my FPS, Core/MEM Clock speeds, and my GPU temp. I've tried everything and can't get it to work.  Running a 2080Ti XC Ultra, FWIW. Thanks!

Okay the auto fan control is still bugged, my fans are locked at 42%, I didn't even touch anything in the OC interface I was just using hardware monitor to keep an eye on things while gaming.

And now I can't get silent mode to work, the fans are stuck on. Great.

Just to ensure everyone is aware, there should be no reason why you need to use Precision. The card should work properly all day, every day out of the box without Precision. Secondly, any other software you have installed and running could cause compatibility issues and glitches, particularly with fan controls. Thirdly, MSI Afterburner is an option to try if Precision isn't working for you. Like usual, if you make a change, its's best to uninstall Precision, reboot, and re-install the video card driver -- using the clean install option -- before re-trying with Precision OR (not at the same time, please) MSI Afterburner.

I installed Precision to change the RGB LED color and for the hardware monitoring. Literally nothing else I have installed touches the GPU's settings.

Cool, then it sounds like you don't have any reason why you would need to use Precision any more. Once the LED lighting preference is made, it doesn't need to be opened again. Other software is able to monitor. GPU-Z and MSI Afterburner are options.

Good improvement in this version for me. OSD is working along with FPS and Frame time. Not really sure what's the deal with the profile saving now (can't right click to save profile it seems) but I don't really need different profiles so no skin off my back.

Yeah, I uninstalled Precision X1. I'll check out GPU-Z, thanks.

Its kind of pathetic to send out a whole newsletter (got it few hours ago on my mail) about Precision X1 when at this point, all it supports, are RTX cards.

It's like rubbing it off in the face of all GTX owners. Maybe finish your software first, before spreading the news about it?

Just to ensure everyone is aware, there should be no reason why you need to use Precision. The card should work properly all day, every day out of the box without Precision.

Yeah it isn't necessarily a need to use Precision or any GPU tools for the hardware to work on it's own, but the tools do give some advantages for the more experienced users.

Unfortunately Precision has (had? I haven't tested X1) quite some bugs that can make the end user experience worse than required, which is why good software is just as important as good hardware if there aren't 3rd party solutions to fully utilize every aspect of the videocard such as the independent fan control. (or all 2/3 fans for that matter)

Personally I've always ran PrecisionX 4.2.1 in the past and it was pretty much close to flawless, but it was mainly to keep the fans running higher than manufacters default bios because they very often allow them to run much hotter in favor for more silence.
And it isn't rare those videocards start to run pretty hot in a temperature zone most people would get uncomfortable with on the default bios curves. (let alone the possible lifespan decrease)

It gets a bit more problematic now than in the past because GPU boost is depending on the temperature headroom and clocks are no longer static per profile, so people are either forced to use a 2nd bios with an aggressive curve if available or use software to get more performance.

Plus not every chip/card is of the same quality level, so where one needs less power to achieve the same the other may be hitting powerlimit early on, and when the powerlimit is hit there is often a noticeable small lag bump ingame because of throttling.

Personally I only use Precision XOC for fan curves and recently the powerlimit because the latter does give me a slight noticeable increase in perceived smoothness and less or no small lag bumps from powerlimit throttles.

The only drawback is when a program polls many sensors it can actually cause small lag bumps itself.

    Edit:
Warning for those who use GPU-Z, I just updated from 2.11 to 2.12 and the system freezed completely three times in a row, with or without antivirus/gpu tools or much background tasks.
The kind of freeze where the reset button doesn't even respond for a while until it goes into poweroff and starts up again.
