Found the chipped piece still on the screw in place on the bracket. If the screw was what broke we would like "stupid soft screws!" Followed by applying gorilla glue and moving on...

Make sure you create a  Service Ticket and add a Photo to show the damage in case you need to RMA the Card for the OLED or other.

That is correct. Can't have water running off the block straight into the pcie slot and all over the board.

No IMO it’s definitely not a high quality copper. Inspected it looks low grade and low quality polish as well

This block weighs about half of the K|ngP|n 1080 TI. The one made by Bitspower

It’s about the purity of the ore not necessarily correlates with weight. Low quality ores can contain “heavy” impurities. Also low purity copper ores can still be excellent conductors.

Just for the most expensive block I’ve ever seen it seems odd the choice of a low purity ore

How smooth is the part of the Block that covers the GPU Die?
Flat a Level?

Am I missing something or did someone actually test the copper for purity? Now that is something I wouldn't mind seeing.

I’ll take some pics. With the 500kb limit on the forum it is not going to be the best. Flat maybe. Not even close to the flatness of a lapping or the polish of an 2k grit. You can see the tooling and the seams. It looks like many vertical rectangular strips fused together, cnc’d and buffed.

As for purity testing Not that I know of. But it is typical of Chinese ore to be of low purity. You see it in all types of cabling, tubing, blocks ect, copper ware and I may be wrong about this but doubt it. It’s not just with copper either you see it across the composition of many metals...

Again for its use case it could be amazing as a thermal conductor regardless of my opinion of purity based on a brief visual inspection.

That size limit was killing me! even pictures below the limit and it was still complaining.

Well, no matter how it goes, I hope it's actually worth damn near 400 dollars! :D
But in the grand scheme of things...It's more than likely not even close to being worth it. Personal opinion only.

Looks like I will be opening and inspecting my HC block this evening before I go out of town for a week. I have had similar QC issues with EK's components lately even though I have pretty much been destroyed on r/Watercooling for even suggesting that EK could ship a bad product. I read somewhere that EK had moved some of its manufacturing to China. I know I'm reaching here but what are the chances that EVGA used the same "Undisclosed Manufacturer" as stated in the Bit-Tech video.

Honestly, I thought there was a layer of plastic on the bottom of my block and I must of spent 20 minutes trying to peel it off before I realized, "holy fracking moly - that's really the copper?!?!? And what is that horrible gray gunk all over it??"

Whatever - I posted my results in another thread - temps are good but you just know they could be so much better. Like my Hydro Copper for my 2080 Ti RTX Ultra... What a strange experience this has been with Evga...

Still, I can polish it myself and I'd have done anything to get the KP off the AIO.

TBH, I think these hydro coppers and from what I've experienced, are crap on top of the review warning of low flow restrictions.  My flow took a DIVE off of this regular block compared to TWO BLOCKS IN SLI (780 Classifieds Hydro Copper on Swiftech blocks IIRC).  Not to mention I added a few more angle fittings but the DIVE should not have been apart of that.  The fittings in general barely make such a dent but this new block did. lol....  Been in the business for quite a long time and haven't seen anything like this.  What threw the red flag for me is when EVGA admited their pricing on the block(s) were because they were coming from China which says it all at that point.  They should get their heads straight and go back to licensing with professional custom cooling companies like Swiftech OR EK like in the past and willing to make less with a more quality product.  FFS!

That's the part that scares me the most after using the 2080ti ftw3 copper block. I'm going to go from a single loop with a single 480 rad to now a single loop with 2 480 and 2 360 EK XE rads and preying using dual d5 pumps will be enough for all that rad and the KP and CPU block.

Have not started the build yet but I feel like I'll get it all together and then realise I'm screwed and need to buy a dual pump top for the d5 pumps or run for a dual DDC pump top for bigger head flow.

Room-in-case permitting; you could always just run a dual-loop setup.

Plenty of room as it's a thermaltake core p7.

Did dual loops last time and the time before. I plan to let all 4 rads eat all the heat from both the CPU and GPU this time since that would maximize the cooling as the gpu/cpu normally dont run on max load the same time. Drop the temps down as close to room temp as possible doing so.

here you can see that circular tooling a bit of the CNC tooling
you can feel to the touch the ridges

FOR XOC that may make a practical sense and you want a little bit of surface area for the Thermal compound to adhere. However at ambient this is not case and the HydroCopper is not for pushing the limits of thermal compound temperature thresholds. The flatter the surface and the better the interface contact between the die and the plate the better the thermal exchange...

Who knows.... This feels like a bad experience with Aliexpress. From the wait time after KPE release to the visual inspection of and reception of a DOA part that arrived physically damaged, structurally bad design due to what appears to be a last minute decision to ship with OLED  and not in alignment with the typically over engineered no compromise attitude of the rest of these products...

Even the Mirroring Looks Really Poor.
If I look at my CPU Water Block it is like looking at a Glass Mirror and yours looks like a plexiglass mirror with another piece of plexiglass on top.

I'll go find to find the currency exchange and trade some more USD $$$ for "EVGA benefit of the doubt" on this one. I have a lot of faith on TEAM K|NGT|N so really who knows... Maybe I got really unlucky...

I see what you mean. After carefully looking it over when i first pulled it out of the box, mine also had signs of swirl marks, but for the most part seems to be flat. I'll know when I take it apart later today to see how well it bonded to the core.

Maybe, but lets hop you get better luck on this next go round. :)

If I keep this KPE I think I'll wait a little while before getting a block, maybe EK or Bitspower will design a block. There was a BP block for the 1080Ti KPE so hopefully they do it again.
