dhall243 I don't think we should expect much on 7/7 with that 3000 stuff, the marketing team seemed to push the fact that the 3800x was on par with the 9900k in gaming, and if weve learned anything more cores doesn't help there, maybe in benchmarking they might shine again, but if we're still on monitor talk, I had an Acer Predator XB271HU, I loved it, it was the 165hz 1440p IPS panel.
We still don’t know if their IPC claims are true. That and we don’t know what memory latency will do in terms of performance, especially for gaming. Their chiplet and multiple die chips have always performed at a lower level for gaming. Their demo benchmarks were totally orchestrated as well. Even then, their new Navi card just barely beat out the 2070 in a benchmark that actually favors AMD hardware. I mention that because that PUBG demonstration is complete bunk. That game’s engine is trash to begin with and from what I’ve read it’s always heavily GPU bottlenecked (I’ve never played it because it’s garbage). So essentially it means nothing at this point in time. Their bench vs. the 9920X also means nothing for me personally considering that the 9900k beats many HEDT chips in gaming loads. I won’t be buying anything Cryzen or X570 anyway. Those chipset fans are an absolute pass for me - they sound like a nightmare in terms of RMA and I’m sure their acoustics are awful. Intel boards are almost always better in my eyes.

Not sure if your on any PC groups in facebook or not, but those guys will not shut up about how they're ol mighty god Lisa Su has put out a few powerpoint slides on how they beat intel, Im sure some of us here are old enough to remember the times AMD said they were smoking Nvidia at these big shows, and then they finally release their products and the hype isn't all so true. Not to mention, its took them how long to beat intels 14nm platform if they really have? As well as the 9900k will be almost a year old by the time the Ryzen 3000 chips come out.

Nope, don’t follow any of them at all and I don’t plan to. Their claims mean nothing at this point without third party benchmarks. Gamers Nexus data is all I need to draw my conclusions. In their review of the 9700k, they provide a long list of CPUs in the same modern benchmarks - even the 8700k at stock handily beats the R7 2700 overclocked. AMD claimed big numbers for IPC increases the last time around and it still turned out to be bunk. Hardware Unboxed found that the Radeon 7 was 7% worse than the 2080 at launch and AMD claimed it was because of driver immaturity and a rough launch. Well, months later it hasn’t changed and the 2080 is still 8% better in traditional rasterized performance and the Radeon 7 still has no RTX features to speak of. I don’t really care about RTX haters because in my mind RTX is a step in the right direction in terms of creating novel advances in computer graphics. They claim they can do it later with software based solutions but anyone who believes that is a fool. RTX can’t run worth a hoot on Pascal for example - it needs the dedicated RTX cores like on Turing. I couldn’t care less about what AMD is doing. The fact that the 8700k beats their second gen 8 core chips in gaming loads from both a raw FPS and frametime standpoint has me solidly with Intel in terms of the best raw gaming performance. And this is what’s gonna happen: AMD will put out something that pushes Intel to release a 10 core part, not unlike what they did with the 8700k. The next iteration after that on 10nm will be the true upgrade for those that already have a 9900k. And to make this post relevant to KPE: I guess we finally found out that the waterblocks are coming next week and I’m looking forward to snatching one up. Just as well, the Luxe2 finally has an August release date so I’m excited to get started on my first water cooled build featuring my Kingpin.

Nice! I run mine at +100 core / +1000 mem. Core clock around 2130-2145 ~1.05V. Is manually rising the core voltage the only way to get rid of Vrel power limiting?

@ dahll243 Alright! You have all the info you need in this thread and in AHowes thread "Anyone figure out the KingPin yet" to get you more than started. I think my card is higher than that. What's up with making loyal EVGA forum member customers guess when the WB is coming out. We are already committed to buying it. A little heads up when and a early notice by PM an hour before would not be asking for much considering the advertisement and sales we supply. I'm starting to think they are in it for the money. edit: correction...serials on mine are under 200

This. It is incredibly frustrating to have little to no response from EVGA here in THEIR forums regarding availability. This isn’t the EVGA I know and love.

@HawkOculus glad to see someone else is hyped about the Luxe2 as well! I have a custom loop in the Evolv X rn but the thermals can definitely improve. I look forward to a full blown, all out custom loop in the Luxe2. That distro plate for the back got me all excited too. Phanteks has really stepped it up imo in regards to their case designs and addressing their air flow issues

I think EVGA does this to counter possible scalpers. I'm sure some will slip through the cracks as these blocks will be a limited run. Just be patient and understand, the last thing EVGA wants to do is to get these in the hands of snake oil salesmen price gouging you to smithereens.
As I said this before, EVGA should implement a system with the Serials/Registered KPE owners and only they can purchase one. The only issue is people looking to gift someone wouldn't be able to like a lovely wife or something. (Insert joke here)

@GTXJackBauer agreed. It would be perfect if they could email all the KP card owners, which I would think if you have it registered on your account then it would be fairly easy to find the owners, and let them have first crack at the block before the scalpers.

Yeah got it from there too so I am patiently waiting for it. I need it in my life lol. Also do you get any buzzing from the card? Because I mentioned it before in the thread but I do. Pretty annoying but since my card is stable at 2175 in games (goes to 2145, on water it should stay 2160 below 43C) and +1300memory so I am reluctant to RMA it. It can do 2205 core and +1450memory in benchmarks, got into HOF with GPU score today in timespy (extreme and normal) and in port royal.

So while in games it can only get to 2175, at stock its 2070 +105mhz makes it 2175 boost, to get it to 2205 in benchmarks all I did was raise the core at 1093mV to 2205 and lock it at that voltage with afterburner(ctrl + L). I tried 2190 first which worked fine, tried 2205 and it works most of the time as long as I don't let it hit over 46C (crashes at that temp with that core speed sometimes). Push/pull at full speed took care of the temps, they never go above 42C now in benchmarks. Now my only problem is that annoying buzz, sure I can't hear it with heaphones (just putting them on is enough for it to be inaudible), it existing and being plenty audible when I don't use them is not that great. I also don't get as much score as other people do with the same OC since every card is different, probably if I used the program for voltages my score would go up but who knows (theres plenty of small tweaks I can do for better scores without that program too). For now I need to decide what to do with the damn buzzing. Port Royal: https://www.3dmark.com/pr/96799Timespy Extreme: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/7303810

I never looked at the scores for more than one card. I was thinking while I still have two cards here I would try it out, until I saw that everyone is using HEDT machines. Is it because of the pci lanes of those cpu's or because I can not use two cards at x16 on the Dark? Would Sajin's new non SLI system work for a two card Z390 board?

johnksss WTH! I hit refresh and the block is now 349.99!
Wrong thread. You're missing the fireworks. Unfortunately, many things have increased in price in recent months. I'm not sure how long this trade %$^% is going to last or if the final agreement will lower pricing. I'm looking at sourcing basic parts like a PS now for another system later this year.

GTXJackBauer I think EVGA does this to counter possible scalpers.
(Insert joke here)
Haha... show me a wife that wants to blow big kingpin cash on their husbands! Lol
Instant marry guys if ya can!
My wife told me to order mine, ive got facebook messages to prove it lol as far as jacking the price up to 350 for the WB, thats pretty messed up
