If you were looking for pictures on the Z77 ITX, I've already asked.  The board is in the layout stages and is too early for pics.  The production release is forecast for July/August.  It's gonna be a long 60 days.  So in the mean time, I'm just saving up the EVGA bucks and plan out the build.

Patiences, it will come.  Try going outside and ride a bicycle.  Or smash some zombie heads on a video game.  Just find a way to pass the time so its not so painful.

A GTX670 is really pushing the phyiscal limit of the case.  I know a GTX560 Ti 384core will fit, barely.  Maybe on the GTX670 with the power connectors on the side will give the extra 1/2" that it needs to fit.  With that in mind, I'm 90% sure that it could work.  The PSU thats included (450W countious 80% bronze) can power a GTX560 Ti and 2600k while folding.  Just becomes louder and a heater to boot.
 
I'm waiting on EVGA to release thier new ITX board.  The ASRock board that is in that photo doesn't do overclocking at all.  It can, but it won't hold it.  ASRock tech support says that is normal.  So I'm going to use thier board in a lesser, more compact rig for my dad.  I'm also hoping the EVGA's ITX design moves the CPU socket away from the PCIe slot.  This way I can use the Zalman 120mm heatsink and use the PCIe for a double slot GPU (can only do one slot with the ribbon).

This wait is killing me to see any pictures ... even prototype designs would be nice to see ...

August is when about it shall be upon us.

Glad the ASRock Z77 version is working for you.  The Z68 ITX is a flop for me.  But I can wait to see what EVGA is bringing to the table.

The EVGA board will have a single 8pin with 8 power phases.

Yea, I looked at that one too and decided against it. It only had a 4pin cpu power connector which led me to believe that it has little to no overclocking ability, and they didnt clearly specify the power handling or phases on that board. Most of the reviews on it said the power handling on it was limited to about 4.1Ghz. Only good thing about that board was the price. If I was getting a Non "K" Version cpu it wouldnt be too bad.

From what I could see on it for chips, it is a 4 phase power.  And ya, no major OC ability.  My 2600k has a speed limit of 3.4GHz.  It can go faster, but the board doesn't support it for long-term when I need it to fold.
 
8-pin, 8-power phase for the EVGA board.  That should allow the 2600k to finally stretch its legs and really shine.  How about the CPU socket, is it moved away from the PCI-e?  Thats one of my biggest factors.

So? x8 is more than enough bandwidth, particularly at 3.0 speeds.

I don't know why you're trying to make the case that dual slots is a bad idea or people are foolish for wanting it. There is really no good reason why an enthusiast-class Mini-ITX board shouldn't get bumped up slightly to Mini-DTX size and include a second high-bandwidth expansion slot.

I like the mITX boards for their size and now options to use mainstream CPU's.  I'm going in both directions for the mITX builds.  One is a small form factor that has the power of a full size PC (Quartz rig).  And my next build is to go as compact as possible and give good everyday use power for some light gaming, also to be energy efficent and stay around 100W with a GPU card (Mercury rig).

If you're going to presume someone else's perogatives to make a point, then I'll do the same and we'll both be right:  30 months after 8800GT debuted with the PCIe 2.0 spec, GTX480 was able to reach x8 2.0.  If I got a system with PCIe 3.0, I expect it to last much longer than 30 months, so x8 wouldn't be enough bandwidth.

None of those other cards require the real estate wasted on a mini board by having an additional full physical x16, per the rendering you refered to.

If you don't want to use a single-slot [graphics] cards, that doesn't mean the slot is "inaccessible in any standard chassis"; it's just you.   Give Axiomtek credit, they didn't make a board on the hunch it will sell with slots no one can use except with creative chassis'. 
 
It happens to be a legacy configuration that boards had for many years, before most PCIe cards became dual-slot.  Even both the Shuttle Z77 barebone and Zotac's Atom based setup use-- like I said, either their customers have no choice or just want to use it.  Consider that Zotac didn't bother expanding their lineup with more mini-DTX boards shows us the demand hasn't grown large enough for those other products, all of their newer LGA1155 mini boards are still mini-ITX.

If you see my criticism that way, then you're not hearing me out.  I've seen people like you every once in a while, you all get upset when the stuff you like isn't more common or obvious to anyone else (like those wanting higher Vram to be standard on GK104), but somehow the simplest conclusion still evades:  There aren't enough people like you to make money from.  These companies aren't stupid driving a conspiracy against the best ideas, but someone needs to pay for them and usually a few thousand orders are needed to make it worth the company's money to start.
