Primary use is gaming and internet. If so, what is best processor for it and what case? Probably just air cool cause I'm not big into oc. Thanks Ordered mine this morning. Woot! Two things, as fate would have it-I was just about to finish my ASRock MiniITX build, but now that board is coming out. I was literally about to check the cabling, put the side panels back on and POST it to install Win7-not gonna happen. Secondly, its freaking Thanksgiving week-ugh. I ordred 2nd day, but I probably won't see it until Monday. Now I have to wait over the effing weekend. The horror. I would get a Silverstone FT03 Mini ($$) or Bitfenix Prodgy ($) and as far as CPU? I'd maybe get a Xeon e3-1240 if the board accepts it, or a Core i7 3770K, and slap some G.Skill Trident X 16gb (2x8gb) in that bad boy , and you're golden.

If you are not going to Overclock, you do not really need any enthusiast board. Unless you plan to upgrade to a higher end 600 series video card, you dont need PCI 3.0 or a new CPU. The 570 bottle necks at around a 6x (doesnt really exist, just saying that 8x or 16x PCI 2.0 wont bottle neck it.) And your CPU is not the bottleneck when you run a single 570. a 690 Will not bottleneck at 16x PCI 2.0 either. More than 8GB Ram isnt really needed for standard gaming and internet purposes. You are probably good with what you have to be honest. You are in one of those cases where you will be basically be buying an entirely new PC. Which most people would probably agree, for your purposes, if you want a M-ITX build, get a case like the Silverstone SG08 or something equivalent, the EVGA Stinger Board if you must, a 3570K, and a 670 FTW 4GB, any pretty much any ram, your 8GB whatever you have is probably fine, and your SSD is probably fine too.

I noticed on the back of the IO plate above the mini HDMI is what looks like two wifi ports, maybe not so much a port. But two holes and the symbol for wifi?

Those are for external antenas for the WiFi. The AsRock and the Asus come with that external antenna. It doesnt appear that the EVGA comes with that card. So it may just be open for expansion if you buy the card later. I think its a mini PCI slot that you plug it in to, but I dont see the mount for it, so it may just not have it. From the pic it looks just like a usb wifi.

Has anyone else had their order marked as shipped? I ordered two day, canceled and switched to next day but it looks like they aren't going to actually ship it until Wednesday which makes it Monday anyway. Yay for me wasting my money.

Status of my order is "Processing". I'm not in that much of a rush to build it anyways, so I choose the standard ground shipping.

Thanks for the reply. I oc a little bit but not crazy enough to water cool. I like the idea of the mitx size so I could transport it easily. I am planning on getting one of the next batch of graphics cards and I just thought now that I have an ssd I might as well upgrade to sata 6 and USB 3 now that I have things to utilize those features. And will the DDR ram in x58 work with stinger? Thanks again One more thing...is the display port/ HDMI port useless since I have a graphics card already? Or can they run a seperate monitor in conjunction with graphics card?

Vlada011 Some cases for Z77 Stinger ...And many others... I can understand some folks just like putting more in their system, but few cases use their volume efficiently and people end up with chassis' that might as well fit a microATX board. It comes off as an insult to the miniITX form factor; why get a smaller board at all? I know of a website called CappuccinoPC.com with dozens of miniITX cases, miniPC types, some small enough that you could mod a tiny liquid radiator like this 2x40mm variant and do what you need in half the space as bigger chassis. But one could always make their own; I intend to for my next build as I can't find anything that I consider acceptable with wasted volume and too many fans, etc.

The memory dimms for a X58 board will work with the Z77 Stinger. Since they both require DDR3 dimms. As for the display ports, I believe you can use both GPU's (intergrated & seperate) for displays. That is how I had Quartz setup for folding. The card GPU was used solely for folding while the Intel 3000 iGPU was used for monitor.

Probably these cases from SilverStone Tek http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=261&area=en http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=317&area=en
LearJetMinako is correct. I have done the research as I did this build if you go back a page i have pics of the AsRock M-ITX Z77 and a 690, its set up for watercooling. The Silverstone Sugo SG07 and 08 are the only options if you want to cram it all in there and not have wasted space. Its the only case I have come across with an adequate PSU. Its the smallest sized ATX PSU you can get, and I only found 1 other PSU that will fit in there, but the PSU cables are too long and there isnt room for them (It was the Corsair CX600). The PSU in the SG07 and 08, are 600 Watt Bronze, but they actually bench test at 700Watts, and passed Silver Rating Specs. My system with a 3770K and 690, both OC is pulling close to 450W from the wall at full load (Closer to 400W at the PSU). So there is still room and PSU shouldnt die (Mine hasnt yet and I have folded on it for about 6 months in between gaming. You will find lots of other M-ITX cases that are nice, but they dont come with big enough PSUs, yes you can add an aftermarket one, but like I said above, you will run in to the cables being to long. If you are good at soldering you could shorten them up I am sure. But the Silverstones ones are ready to go out of the box.

so what processor? I know the 3770 is OVERKILL, but that is the one I have been looking at...but which? The 3770, 3770S or 3770K? all on newegg. and crezno...do you think i can run your setup on air? obviously not overclock it like you did, but how do you think the 690 or 700 series (whenever it comes out) will do in that small of an area? and have you seen all the new mitx cases lian-li has? i think they are 2 small though...not enough room for power supply

Well each one is geared towards a different purpose. The 3770K has an unlocked multiplier and is meant for overclocking. The 3770 is the standard i7 with a locked multiplier which means you cant go higher than the turboboost clock. The 3770S is a low power version (has lower base clock) It would defeat the purpose of buying a Z77 motherboard if you went any CPU that wasnt unlocked (a K CPU). Personally I would go with the i5-3570k since it will be just as good as the i7 for gaming and still packs a punch for other CPU heavy tasks, also runs slightly cooler which helps in the small mITX form factor.

Being it's a new board they don't have a listing over at Crucial.com, so i just looked up what some ddr3 memory would be. I'm not sure if i'm looking at this wrong but.... The board can hold a maximum of 16 gigs of ram, and i was looking up DDR3-2133. The kit listed for 16 gigs comes as a 4 stick kit, but the mobo only has 2 slots. There is no way to get 16 gigs of ram on two slots.....

Just got my UPS Shipping notification, but it won't be here until next Thursday (east coast). This is my first EVGA board since my 759 Classy back in '09. But is anyone else worried this board may not be good? I keep hearing about issues with EVGA boards these days (BIOS issues and stability problems). I'm very happy with my rock stable Asrock Z77 ITX (going to my NAS build), aside from its CPU socket placement, not to mention that it cost much less. I plan to use this EVGA board until next gen; hopefully Asus launches an ROG ITX for Haswell and EVGA makes a Classified ITX board as well. Regarding the memory, they sell 2x8GB (16GB total) DDR3 kits for under $50.00, so it's possible to have 16GB in ITX format, no problem... http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007611%20600006072&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=100

Now for the crazy, insane question that has no real world application other than pure S&G's: Can you stick 2 16gb ECC sticks in there and get it to run... *hrm* Useless? Yes. Pointless? Yep. No real need? Sure thing. But would be really cool none the less. :)

The cables have threaded ends with nuts. You just push the threaded end through and then on the other side apply the nut. Hello, I can't find anywhere, what's the audio software support for this ALC889 chipset on this board? On Realtek's site there are many "optional" features, from Dolby to EAX. To my knowledge, motherboard manufacturers need to pay additional sums for these features. I don't see any listed, that's why i'm asking here. Thx.
