EVGA has about 70 total full time employees. They aren't Asus and MSI with thousands of employees. Its not like EVGA can spare engineers to work full time on a BETA BIOS power draw issue when they still are working on new soon to be released products with a limited time frame between Nvidia releasing info to the manufacturers and the product release dates.
Hey man... you and others sit here and post like we don't have any options. Like "how dare we" question evga on their artificially limited cards!?!?!
Let me clue you in on how this works. EVGA burns its most demanding enthusiasts who are spending at the HIGHEST LEVELS... then goes full radio silent for a MONTH about it... and we will bail on them and spend AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS with some other company. Simple. ASUS and others, would love to have our cash. EVGA could have stopped this any time they wanted by being present. Instead, they want to treat us like mushrooms. Well, that has consequences.
We paid TOP MONEY for basically a reference card. They clowned us. If I'd have paid $1400, I wouldn't be upset.
I paid twice here in South America bro and this sounds to me that IF EVGA wants they will make another "Version" of the FTW3 and if so I can't return it, you guys can. Hope they find a solution to overcome this issue, with a BIOS + Guide or whatever, but yes the card is limited. For those who want a bit more stable clocks using the XOC bios try to be under or on 60C and cool the backplate on the caps part. As I told above I'm on Stock Card Air, the normal BIOS was moving much more up and down than the XOC one, after I cooled it good it's more stable. All the Best, Sergio!

xoc bios seems to pull less power and get lower fps for me, I went back with nvflash and it's back to normal. I hope they can fix this. I cancelled my tuf oc order for this one because of the 3 power pins. I was really hoping to put more juice into this thing.

As mentioned several times in the thread recently - if you have a card that doesn't perform as well with the XOC beta VBIOS, you can use the XC3 VBIOS and performance will noticeably increase over the stock (or beta) VBIOS. But I agree that a working XOC VBIOS for those of us who don't see an increase would be nice.

Dude, you (and others) are literally getting pissed off by 1-2% performance factor. Unless you just want bragging rights on 3DMark, that is utterly ridiculous. You will never notice the difference in your favorite game running at 200fps vs. 196fps. Think about it....

Yeah... and being put in a position of intentionally installing the bios FOR THE WRONG CARD because EVGA won't get in here and address this... is super fun. /S

With the XC3-BIOS i measure with clamp-amp-meter 10A, 13A and 14A on all 3 lines - in total 444Watts. PCIe - i dont know, but i think all 3 Lines and PCIe draws more than 500Watts. Thats without OC and Powerlimit-Regulator @ max. My new, best result in Timespy with cold air is 22.009 Points in Graphics-Score Timespy-ID 15323013 (swap with your ID in the TimeSpy-Link) BTW:Is it possible to buy „LDAT + PCAT“ from NVIDIA?And how much are these tools?

Tried the oc bios. Maxed out at 450w, 80w on the pcie. I just got a vga error on restart, code 98. Restarted again and it hung at msi logo, error code 27. Restarting again and everything was fine. Very weird..

I’ve seen power spikes that were close to 500w. But a proper 500w BIOS should allow you to run all the way up against the power limit at any time, not just during power spikes. I see yours says max next to the values, but will your card sit at 115-116% without dropping clocks or voltage? Anything over 109, or maybe it’s 107 (I’ve tried a couple different BIOS at this point) Will drop clocks And/or voltage To reduce power draw. No matter what BIOS I’m using.

Yes I have a GPU-Z File I can send over that has a 10 min GPU bench loop at 498 Watt avg with some spikes to 521. Feel free to PM me and ill be more then happy to send it over. This bios 100% works perfect for benches and gaming. Rock solid 2100mhz gaming 0 crashes and benches in the 2145-2160mhz range. My temps gaming can range from 60-72ish in games with fans at 77% (Aggressive fan curve pre set). One thing i did shy away from is the VF Curve tuner as that did see a substantial power drop for me. Try setting your card to a default Vf Curve and let her eat at +119% Power and + 91 gpu temp. I was able to get +1100 mem and +195 core with this Bios.

Can you share benchmark details you ran that got that result? Mypeak in Port Royale 8k is around 468w, and typically around 100% to 103%, even with power limit and voltage slider maxed.

Im using Precision X 1.1.1, I had 0 issues using the V curve but it seems to lower targeted power ratings for me and increase the +core. Maybe some people that are having the low power issue are using the built in Auto VF Power Curve Tuner?

The Picture in my original post is my best Port Royal bench I can not link the address here but its in the picture if you can read it. Also the 498 avg benchmark 10 minute loop I use is the MSI Kombustor 4 Benchmark tool and the test I used is the : (GL) Furmark - MSI. I saved the GPU-Z file if anyone wants it PM me directly and I can send it over.

The same damn thing happened with the 980 Classified cards and we all got screwed, those of us with the 2nd and 3rd rev., and EVGA never resolved the issue.
??? 3988 is just product code, theyve changed it from 3987 to 3988 for hydro-copper as its different product. Or am I misunderstanding something ?

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall that sequence of numbers was the revision number from back when I had the trouble with my 980s and the HydroCopper is 3989

cerealkeller What version of precisionX are you using, unless you’re using Afterburner. The voltage curve doesn’t work at all for me.
Im using Precision X 1.1.1, I had 0 issues using the V curve but it seems to lower targeted power ratings for me and increase the +core. Maybe some people that are having the low power issue are using the built in Auto VF Power Curve Tuner?
It’s weird that everything is working for you and not for some of us. What’s your part number, it’s on the box, and the card too I would assume. Mine is 24G P5-3987-KR Goddamn it! There has been a revision change!! The one listed on their website is 3988 now, whatever one Notchy has is the proper revision I think. The same damn thing happened with the 980 Classified cards and we all got screwed, those of us with the 2nd and 3rd rev., and EVGA never resolved the issue.
I am rocking a 24G- P5 - 3987 - KR, Same as you!

??? 3988 is just product code, theyve changed it from 3987 to 3988 for hydro-copper as its different product. Or am I misunderstanding something ?
I could be wrong, but I seem to recall that sequence of numbers was the revision number from back when I had the trouble with my 980s and the HydroCopper is 3989
Im sure product code has nothing to do with revisions, atleast in this case for sure, and yea I meant Hybrid, my bad.

Yes, I’m stupid, I should have been in bed two hours ago though, so sorry I tried to track down some of the threads where that issue came up previously, but the kingpin forums apparently don’t exist anymore

btw insider info: BZ will not respond/react to FTW3 situation for now as he unfortunately has no way of testing it for himself right now :/ We should all just wait for something official from evga

So here is a response from this chump at Frame Chasers to a user that did not agree with him: "One more stupid reply and your banned, you aren’t even staying on topic, I don’t care about your scores or your gpu-z readings, I care about mine. You literally just made another excuse for them to not respond “they screwed either way” is not a response. If you like their products and their customer service then keep buying it, this video clearly isn’t targeted towards you". This guy is a fool and does not deserve the bandwidth he is given.

About your card @Notchy44 doing all the magic you want it to, could you maybe please check the revision of your card, like in the pic below, where the arrow points and post back? Maybe there is an easier way to check the revision, than to take out your card, but this is the most trustworthy way I could think of :D
