arcky And just for added salt in the wound, frame chasers is using a non-ultra FTW3, with flashed stock ultra bios which then allows the xoc installer to think it’s an ultra and unlock the 500w. Which is what the MSI users were doing as well. So EVGA just released a bios that helps users of their competitor’s cards, and helps users who didn’t pay for their top end SKU, and doesn’t work for users who paid top $ for the SKU the bios was designed for. Sick.
Lol i did the same thing I have the ftw3 gaming non ultra. Flashed the ultra bios then was able to install fake 500w bios. Is there any point to the ultra?
I need to figure out how to do this with my non-ultra

Guy´s there´s a two day old BETA bios that didn´t work for all like it should. And you write things like deceiving / need to sell my card / never ever EVGA / you just want to sell the kingpin cards etc.... If i were EVGA i couldn´t care less about such unfaithful customers ! And again, most of you knew the PowerTarget before you buyed the cards. Give them a chance to test, explain and solve !!

Fired up the new doom eternal DLC, 4k everything set to max, vsync off. Mem overclocked to 800 and the GPU overclocked to 150. Fans set to 100% and power set to 119%. Max GPU temp 63 C. Pulled a max 447 watts. Averaged around 430 watts. Max TDP 110.8%. Thanks for looking into this Jacob.

kring Some info to share: First, Port Royal and Timespy won't drive up the power draw... I can't get it to happen... I got 1 second peaks in 450, but it never actually drew the power consistently, spent most time between 420 & 440. I flashed the bios again just to be certain, then did full power down for 1 min, and reboot.. making sure it was a clean start. Doom Eternal, runs a constant 460+ draw and spend considerable time in the 470w range. Here's my 20 minute run in Doom Eternal, the average was 452 and that factored in some low draw to start and exit the game and grab a screenshot. the in-game play average was in the 460's. for this run too, I kept everything at default clocks, no OC'ing.
Update: did a second run with +100/+250 overclock... BTW on both it was set to 119%. this was ~10 min if running.
What program is this? Seems very useful but all I know about is gpuz and hwmonitor which doesn't show that much info.

So just to preface, my card isn't a golden card - my VRAM doesn't like super high clocks, and with older drivers setting +1000 was an instant reboot (this is on an EVGA 1600 watt titanium power supply). I've finally got some time to look into the 500w beta VBIOS a little more. Full specs in the mods rigs link under my forum name on the left. Yes, I know Port Royal is a 1440p benchmark and won't pull the same wattage as say Time Spy Extreme, which is 4K. On the stock OC VBIOS, I game at +75 +600, and for Port Royal points chasing I went up to +150 +800 on a certain 480 watt VBIOS and was mostly stable. So far on this 500w beta VBIOS, air cooled with fans at 100% (max GPU temp usually 59C), using MSI afterburner to monitor and observe non-top point chasing runs, on hotfix 456.98 drivers: Port Royal pulls ~418 watts max even when overclocking, and bounce around 390 to 400 depending on the scene. And when overclocking or not, the perfcap is always (yes, always) power with Port Royal. My drivers crash after a few seconds when I set +1000 to the VRAM, but at least the computer didn't reboot. This is at desktop with absolutely no load. I was able to push +200 (!!!!) on the core with no VRAM OC and not crash in several Port Royal runs. +220 and Port Royal failed out about a third of the way in. Adding VRAM OCs do appear lower the average GPU clock over the whole run - at a guess, power sharing limits of some sort. At +200 +850 Port Royal froze, and after about 15 seconds rebooted my computer without me touching it. Reminder - I'm using a 1600 watt titanium EVGA PSU with 3 individual power cables run to the card. So in conclusion, my GPU overclock is actually MUCH higher than a 480 watt VBIOS (let alone the stock 450), even if the average core speed is only a bit higher. 480 watt top score (spend hours getting it) vs 500 watt top score (spent 30 minutes): https://www.3dmark.com/co.are/pr/428602/pr/356777#I will test Time Spy extreme next to see what the card draws at 4K.

In Time Spy Extreme, I'm seeing around 410 watts on average, with one spike to 436. This is overclocked +200 and +800 and on the 500 watt beta VBIOS and using MSI Afterburner to report the power draw.

What were your settings when you managed the score on the 500 watt BIOS?

+200 GPU, +800 VRAM. If you look at the comparison under the GPU section, 2055 was reported on the 480 watt VBIOS as max, and 2145 on the 500 watt VBIOS.

Dang. What about voltage? I've used those settings before and only managed like a 13.9k something. Maybe I should unplug my second monitor, would that affect scores?

I don't touch voltage - why? It always lowers my scores if I have it set to anything other than 0. Dunno about the monitor - maybe, can't hurt to try.

Flashed FTW3 Non-Ultra with Bios Jacob just posted for the non-ultra. I can sometimes get it to spike close to 500w, but most of the time its sitting at 460w and performance limiter is Pwr in GPUz in everything I've thrown at it so far. TimeSpy Extreme/PortRoyal/Firestrike. Not sure why it won't hold 500w, power delivery is evenly spread though with PCI slot power never going above 80w

No. Never really has been either. For example, I gain 200 points from going +200 on GPU and +0 on VRAM to +200 and +800 on the VRAM, but just doing +200 on the core nets me a LOT more (close to 1300 points if not a bit more) compared to bone stock. Port Royal benchmark, that is.

You're conflating drivers for VBIOS.
