Hello, since I updated to the 450w BIOS I get worse score in 3dMark, since my first test with a score of almost 19000 I am now at 16000 gpu score and I have higher clocks.
Any idea why this happens?

That doesn't suprise me. Your case is massive, and the 9900k is superior processor and also less people have it, so you have less competition. Unfortunately, I have a very popular CPU :P

What is the difference between the OC vbios and the OC 450W unlocked ? I don't think OC vbions non-450W exists.

Also, why would you not want 450W of extra power ?

I believe the original OC vbios has a different fan curve than the original normal vbios. But is still 380w.


 
Maybe he wants a non-beta vbios for stability reasons?
 
If i'm not mistaken we have
 
original normal vbios (comes with the card, switch set to normal) (380w) "silent fan profile"
original OC vbios (comes with the card, switch set to OC) (380w) "aggressive fan profile"
 
beta normal vbios (downloaded here, switch set to normal) (450w)
beta OC vbios (downloaded here, switch set to OC) (450w)
 
we have available for download the last 2, he is asking for the non-beta vbios (i guess for stability reasons?)

I think that the first post is misleading, is the "Normal" also have the 450w limit ? or only the "OC" version have the 450w limit ?
 
And so, to flash both switch position we must to it twice ?

The .88 the the OC and the .87 is the Normal for the XOC Beta Bioses, but I'm not sure if the .70 or .9C is the stock normal BIOS, which is the only one I want to flash back to. 
 
Since I can't find anywhere on this thread a direct download for the stock bioses, this appears to be the only place I can find them
 
I figured it would be easy to test by seeing if the fans are spinning when I updated.  It's the .70 bios for normal, .9C for  OC if anyone else wants to flash back to stock.

I just wanted to note in this thread that the 3080 FTW3 Ultra I bought my son overclocks less on the XOC Bios and can't maintain as high of an overclock as it did previously on this new Bios.

The Original OC BIOS that comes stock with the card pegged out at 420W if I remember correctly.  That's why the XOC BIOS even exists, people wanted the full 450W that the likes of the Strix card has.  I still want a 525W BIOS cuz that's how much power the card can draw from it's plugs plus the PCIe slots, but I doubt we'll ever get that :-P At least not as an official thing from eVGA anyway.

It was said to be 420W, was actually 400W and people were upset so they released the 450W.

However, can you install the FTW3 ULTRA OC Bios (downloadable on page 1 of this thread) on the FTW3 ? Is it recommended?

I have done so and the card does draw 450W 👌

Should I re-install the Normal BIOS? Or is there an OC Bios for non-ULTRA cards? (Does my question make sense?)

I have questions  :
 
1) Are both the FTW3 model and the FTW3 ULTRA model are exactly the same ? The only difference is factory overclock out of box ? If you do manual OC, then they are exactly the same cards. Is this statement true ?
 
2) My EVGA 3080 FTW3 being in a closed case and only air cooling, would it be smarter to not have the 450W power limit so that temps don't go too high ? Is 450W expected only for Water Cooling and massive cases with lots of fans ?
 
3) I have flashed only the OC BIOS for 3080 FTW3. Does that mean that if I slide the switch from OC to Normal on the card itself, the original Normal bios will kick in with original power limit ?
