lol someone wants to buy a FTW3?  i might have to take them up on that n sell em mine n upgrade... I bought a waterblock for it but I am just not feeling like tearing down a notoriously buggy 1350$ gpu. My luck has been not great lately

i always feel salty when theres better hardware out than the model I got thoo.. so u know id buy this... lol

wait 2 years for it to be worth 300$ and then I will bust out the LN2

2? tho    maybe after I pay off my 9900K+z390 dark, watercooling upgrade, and the last bit of my x299 build from the summer...

really theres not much reason to SLI these things tho. they crank over 60FPS @4k for every game I have played so far

The prices on EVGA's RTX 2080 Ti's got bumped $99. lol  So we should be seeing this Kingpin in the $2K range IMO. lol

Have never seen tech price inflation on the scale of GPU’s the past 3 years.

Yes, I’m sure this is a beautiful product. And I’m also sure you’re right about the $2k mark. That... is high.

I used to mine. Now I compute.

What should one think when Nvidia advertised for a $999 GPU to the masses and now it's $1099? lol  Wouldn't that fall into false advertisement?  Not to mention their stock has tanked.

I don’t believe it would be false advertising. Nvidia stated “starting at $999” not “guaranteed at $999” car dealerships advertised lower MSRP’s all the time, and then sell the same car for more than that.

“Suggested” is never a guarantee.

Not saying I agree with the prices, but calling it false advertising is reaching for something that doesn’t exist.

Locutus494Also surprised to see the EVbot support; I thought they discontinued that and dropped support for it long ago.

Agree.  Great seeing that also.  Wish it was on every card.

And motherboards; the Darks at the very least, since their target audience and purpose is overclocking.

Looks great, sounds great, but I think I'll pass for now. The price point would be at a stone throw away from the Titan RTX, not to mention, tech gets deprecated quickly.

I really love the fact that Steve constantly reminds people that the K|ngo|n and Dark are meant for extreme overclocking, and not intended for daily use... as in they cost so much for a reason. Sadly, people will not focus on the fact of what they are meant for, and will pay the extra price for maybe 2-3fps extra..

I had the 1080 Ti kingpin, ran it on air and GPU boost 3.0 most of the time. Saw a 10-15 fps increase from a Hybrid 1080 TI i replaced it with. Yeah I overclocked it and got great scores... but honestly a 200-300 premium for 10-15 fps isn't the worst deal out there.

I had first model and my opinion is that K|NGP|N worth investment.
They binned chips who OC better and who give better score than other chips on same clock.
Together that's huge advantage.
When I sold 780Ti K|NGP|N guy who bought was so happy and send me message later that he couldn't find better and faster model of GTX780Ti and that card is much better than he expected from GTX780Ti.
Because of that for guys who play 2-3 years definitely worth investment.
I believe they exclude chips with lower score in benchmark tests and fps who give lover score than average.

At what resolution and what games?

I honestly don’t believe you are meaning a high resolution, but I am super curious since not many other people are able to claim that.

It won't come with an unlocked vbios, but you should be able to get an unlocked vbios simply by asking Vince aka Kingpin.

Disappointed after seeing the lightning z reviews and looking at the clockspeeds they achieved. Im expecting this to be similar unfortunately. Its pointless over the ftw3 without an unlocked vbios. I understand that some have had success messaging vince in the past but there is a lot needing to happen. Im not sure how reliable that is what if he just ignores your msg. Then there is the issue of if you mess it up, dealing with the cooling solution (hybrid sucks, will there ever be a hydro?)

originally i was interested in buying 2 but now im more interested in a non reference Titan card if that is ever made available

Non reference Titan won’t be happening. Non of the titans have been non-reference and they have only put more restrictions on them since the Titan lineup started.

Hybrid/hydro are the two models coming.. so yes, there will be a hydro.

There isn’t much point in a KPE if you are staying above ambient. Same with the Lightning Z. They aren’t meant for that, but people love to show them off and they see the cost and extra vrm assume some sort of magic is going to happen.

The 1080ti KPE did have a little magic where lower clocks would get more points in a benchmark, but that doesn’t mean much since it was a couple of percent in points versus a pretty big price jump.

I loved the KPE’s when I had them, But I also ran them next to a window while water cooled and pulled them down as close to the ambient temps as possible, sometimes -5c or close. That’s been a “long time” ago now, and I sadly don’t have that kind of money anymore lol.

As long as they don't whine and backlash those products or games because although they pay a lot, they can't set everything to ultra/extreme at 4K and stay above 60fps I don't see the problem, it's good for everyone as for EVGA would be harder to justify those product if bought exclusively by extreme overclockers.
