Hi i just bought a second 980 = my question is they have different bios - as seen in pics , i have them in sli i just want to make sure i wont hurt them if i overclock  1 has higher default values , or should i update the bios to the higher clock 1 , i did run them each by them selfs and overclocked each 1 with no problems = being an older 62 yr old gamer i count on you young guys to guide me, thanks much Sigma

Hi SIGMA4506!

I can assure you that running two different BIOS on each card will not affect the overclock potential of either GPU but keep in mind that overclocks do vary from card to card; one will inevitably overclock better than the other but it's all determined through trial and error.

Thanks JoseR  so running sli everything to be running good  temps ok, GPU clocks are the same ,boost is the same , only thing that doesnt match no matter what i do is memory 1st card is 1923 and second is 1790  otherwise runs smooth , thanks again

In SLI the slower card will be  the max performance. It may be an advantage to upgrade the older card to the newer bios if it performs well. Always keep a backup copy of the original bios if things go bad.

That is me in the picture, anyone else ever pet a live Lion?

MhzManiac thanks  ,So i guess ill put slower card in first slot and high clocked in the third and see how it runs / if i have any problems, i will update to the newer bios , By the way my Grandmother in 1971 took me on a trip to visit her brother in NEW ORLEANS and when we walked in the front door i almost myself = laying in the corner was a 6 month old LION / unfortunately  his neighbor poisoned the animal =unfortunately my grandmother had to bail her brother out jail for beating the out of the guy =TRUE STORY
