I like your GPU clock. Hope mine will do the same or close when I get it ;)

A clean install of windows? Or a clean install of pxoc? Try doing the following if you didn't do a clean install of windows...

#1 Uninstall precision xoc.
#2 Delete EVGA folders inside C:\Program Files & C:\Program Files(x86)
#3 Reboot PC.
#4 Install precision xoc v6.1.6.

Let us know if that fixes the problem.

Is it 6.1.6? Make sure to reboot the system when it prompts. It also should do a firmware update.

Something similar happened to one of my FTW3's, one card ran at max 92C during a benchmark, and the other maxed out at 74C. I checked PXOC and it only showed ICX temps for the cooler running card. The hotter card had no temp readings in PXOC. I pulled the two out and ran the benchmark on the hotter card and found that only 1 fans was spinning, and also found the thermal led and visual led options were not selectable.

Long story short, I cleaned out the display driver, and reinstalled PXOC, and put both cards back into my rig and can now see temp readings, and set the temp leds on both fans. Hotter card maxes out at 78C during benchmarks.

Benchmarks I was running was valley 4k/ultra and Rise of the Tomb Raider 4k/very high

If your brother has the same card and he's not having any issues with his, swap cards with him and see if you still have problems. If so, it's not the card but your machine at fault

Did you completely power off the machine? It is needed for an MCU reset.

For me, the status for my code redemptions shows something in the line of 'pending validation, may take 1 to 3 business days' for both my FTW3's.

Can any of you guys with a FTW3 confirm the max power target? The first and only review Jacob has posted thus far from bjorn3d has a screenshot showing a 117% limit which doesn't make sense, so I'm assuming something is up with either how it's reporting or how it's behaving.

Secondary BIOS has a higher power target, but 117% for the first BIOS is correct. Keep in mind that the % number doesn't really matter, because the 100% value can vary depending on the card/vendor.

I'm assuming those values are consistent across EVGA products? So 117% would be less than FE's with 120% limit? I guess I don't understand the thought behind that if it's the case.

No, it varies from card to card as well. The 100% value can always be different. The FTW3 is 280W and the FE is 250W

Remove NVIDIA Drivers Reboot
Using the Registry Editor I delete:
Win7
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Video

Win10
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video
Ignore the Error
Almost the same as removing the Cards from the computer.

Install your Graphics Driver and you are done

For a new XOC I remove XOC  Delete Folder and remove NVIDIA Divers Run DDU in Save Mode Install New Graphics Drivers then install XOC.

When I update only the NVIDIA Drivers I Run DDU in Save Mode & do the Registry Editor delete and do not Touch XOC and my Current OC Profiles work fine.

Re: EVGA GeForce 1080 TI FTW3 XOC 16 issues 2017/05/05 23:37:24 (permalink)
Just put my FTW3 in and am having the same issue. One fan is spinning, no temp readings, etc. I uninstalled XOC and used DDU to uninstall drivers before installing the card. I've since done this process multiple times along with other ideas I've read in threads.

I am really frustrated. No offense EVGA but it shouldn't be so finicky to install the card and have it just work. Out of the 18+ GFX cards I've purchased in my life this is the only one that I am having to reinstall and install software and drivers over and over in the hope I will magically get the card to function at its most basic level. If I don't get this working tonight I am returning it...

I followed Mikeamesh's steps but replaced his physical removal of the card with the regedit from bcavnaugh. Note: I had already done exactly what Mikeamesh suggested EXCLUDING removing the card so that step (or the regedit) appears to have been key.

Still disappointed in EVGA for how fussy this was. I am no newbie when it comes to hardware.. I've built over a dozen computers. I suggest considering the ease of installation on future cards when you are designing the firmware/driver/software solutions as it leaves a really bad taste in your customers mouth when they must spend several hours trying to get a $750 card to even function.

Remove NVIDIA Drivers Reboot
Using the Registry Editor I delete:
Win7
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Video

Win10
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video
Ignore the Error
Almost the same as removing the Cards from the computer.

Install you Graphics Driver and you are done

For a new XOC I remove XOC  Delete Folder and remove NVIDIA Divers Run DDU in Save Mode Install New Graphics Drivers then install XOC.

When I update only the NVIDIA Drivers I Run DDU in Save Mode & do the Registry Editor delete and do not Touch XOC and my Current OC Profiles work fine.

So you were able to solve the issue correct?

Don't give EVGA a pass or since you got it going just go away. Voicing your displeasure is a good thing when stuff like this happens. You should not have had to go through all of that to get it working properly. Ridiculous.
