Are the backplates going to be available today (Friday)? Is this also the reason why my order is still processing.

Yes the backplates could be the reason for it.

Do all EK watercooling bridges work with EK GTX 980 Classifieds waterblocks?

For example:

Will this work with my Tri-SLI config?

http://www.ekwb.com/shop/blocks/vga-blocks/multiple-block-connectivity/fc-terminals/ek-fc-terminal-triple-serial-plexi.html

Yes this bridge will work. Any bridges of this type will work with your classy block : http://www.ekwb.com/shop/blocks/vga-blocks/multiple-block-connectivity/fc-terminals.html

To sum it up:
nobody posting in this thread has his order shipped before the weekend with...
1. the lowest posted order id of 1805 which was only a few minutes after release
2. regardless of the version (+/-acetal)
3. regardless of the order amount of blocks (1-4)
4. regardless of the back-plate being included in the order

In short they felt we were worth lying to once again.

Guess it's a pre-order after all and they probably sent out reseller orders before anyone else if any at all.

I wonder how well they'd do with an honest business practice to match their products... Not going to bring up the nickle plating incident any more than I just did. :)

It's seriously annoying being pushed around and lied to. EK the money is out of my bank, so hurry it up.

lol that's all I'm hoping for at this point.

Ok so now the water blocks are back in stock... They better have sent ours out and just have a delay in shipping info.

What a joke. Stock is replenished before ours are shipped?

All I can say (because my job position don't give me the kind of informations you would all like to know) will only put more anger and hate but...

1) We don't lie, WE (the forum reps) try to give you the best information WE (the forum reps) have. Things can happen in the factory since WE (the company) are all humans trying to serve you all.
2) The amount of classy blocks sold were wayyyyy more than we initially expected
3) It wasn't a pre-order thing to grab your money and party with it or whatever you could have in mind. We produced a certain quantity of blocks (i don't know the quantity) but it was insufficient compared to the frenzy of the sale.

Like I said all these things won't make anyone happy because it doesn't include any order updates or dates or timeframe for shipments.

Maybe the resellers were to receive their orders before so people who don't like to order from the EK website can buy their blocks too.

But since my job doesn't seems to help anyone here but only to receive all your bucket loads of rants than go ahead and fill my bucket....

It won't matter too much in the long run, but it sure sucks paying an extra $20-$30 with the impression that by buying from the source you'll get it as fast as possible.

Maybe mine will ship when you've posted some benches. :)

Re: EVGA GTX 980 Classified waterblocks 2015/02/20 18:20:28 (permalink)
This reseller first thing happened to me last year when I ordered a R9 290x block and backplate. I ordered the moment they went up for sale . To my surprise my local store here in Australia had them up for the next day with an ETA of 2 days. So I canceled my order with EK and got them from my local store for $80 less. I thought the same might happen again so instead of paying for the classy blocks I choose to go with the bank transfer option so I just secure my stock anyway. Guess what my local store had them up for pre-order the next day. So I cancelled at Ek and preordered with my local retailer. ETA is 4th March but they will prob get them earlier. Do hasn't started shipping non reseller orders anyway so Yeah.

I won't be ordering from EK directly anymore.

Yep bought 4 full cover and back plates..... I also bought the bridge to connect the block and hd tubing what is better solution to connect all? (I know for viewing is better hd tubing but i prefere some stable and hard...) what s guys think about it?????? thank you for reply this is my first gpus waterccoling setup.....

Currently the only Quad-bridge is this one : http://www.ekwb.com/shop/blocks/vga-blocks/multiple-block-connectivity/fc-terminals/ek-fc-terminal-quad-semi-parallel.html

I will try to know if we intend to create the plexi version of it.

Thank you for prompt reply!!!!!!

The plexi version of the quad is in the work currently but we don't know when it will become available.  That's a big piece of acrylic and it's not easy to work with.

Yes I stay with you Luc Ek I sent 4 - 5 mail in the past to ek asking information about block, cónnectivity and other enquiry and they reply me always politly and they always was very kind with me!!!!! (little bit nervous yesterday but I know they are full of stress and work!!!!) Inside a company there are always people working hard to guarantee the quality of the products that we will put inside our pc to make records and very high score in benchmarking or other staff!!!!!!!!!! I m sure that they send us our blocks as soon as possible!!!!!!

Luc gets my sympathy also. I´m 100% sure that they will do their best to get blocks manufactured and shipped as fast as possible. People have waited 970 and classified blocks for long time and maybe thats why they are so angry and doesn´t see the truth. This is good news, not bad :)

I´ve made my order of GTX 970 block and a backplate. Hope they will send them to me monday so I can install them next weekend. If they don´t, it´s not the end of the world. :) Backplates status is now "limited quantity" so maybe they have put already one aside for me.
