Has anyone tried measuring the current going to the fans on the SC or FTW edition WHILE IDLING? That would be key to finding what resistor to use to drop 12V to 7V. Of course if someone is already using a resistor, how many ohms are you using?

I have one installed with 50Ohm and 5watts thats to much. I think a 30 up to 40Ohm restior with max 0,5 watts is the best solution. Greets

I used GPU-Z to make a backup of the BIOS on my GTX750Ti FTW and it is version 82.07.25.00.52. I have not experienced the problems described in this thread. If I post the BIOS here, it will probably be removed. Please send me a PM if you'd like a copy of this firmware.

I'll send you a copy later today. I suppose you should use NVFLASH. Please check the web for instructions on how to use it.

How can I Roll Back this special BIOS update, because it has made my Windows 7 sleep-mode disfunctional. Since I installed this update, my sleep-mode hangs and crashes when trying to wake the PC. I want to roll-back, and see if it helps! How can I Roll Back this special BIOS update?

JoeyC can you explain why praveenkrs card exhibits such weird behavoir where it would only run on one fan then two fans at higher temps?

I installed a 14ohm resistor, which I believe translates to 28ohm for each fan. It solved my noise issues anyhow.

I just sent in a support request on this topic. Usually a bigger better fan cooler means it being quieter not louder. I have a total of 9 fans in my HTPC currently. 7 of them are controlled by a fan controller and are all the way down at all times. The last two are hooked up directly to the CPU fan headers and are controlled via PWM on the silent profile. After adding the 750 Ti FTW w/ ACX the sound level increased quite drastically easily making it the loudest thing in the case especially at idle. I have seen multiple reviews mention this as well as forum posts but I really didnt think it would be this bad.
Another thing is that even when OCd the fans rarely go above the 42% minimum, if ever. From this I gather than the fans a likely voltage controlled since 42% of 12v is roughly 5v. This is generally the lowest a voltage controlled fan can go down to and 40-42% was the minimum for many older cards when PWM wasnt prevalent. Also this means that the fans RPM is significant overkill when paired with that heatsink for this GPU.
What would be great is if I could purchase some lower RPM fans that I could swap in or something. I mean the 650 Ti Boost 2GB that this replaced was quieter even though it was a blower card.

Is this issue resolved yet? My card is unbearably loud in my SFF case at idle. What is EVGA doing to resolve this issue? I guess I will have to rate the product 1 star on Amzaon, and never purchase another product from this company again who clearly has no concern for customers after they have made a terrible design choice.

Rating it one star is your choice, and no there isn't an actual fix, but posts like this verifies that people post for attention more than functionality. It is an entry level card, with a 2 pin fan. There isn't much else that can be done unfortunately. It was made to be cheap, not perfect.

easiest fix would be to have some lower RPM fans available. I would throw a couple bucks in EVGA's direction for them. I mean I already bought the backplate.

I just bought one of these cards over the weekend. GPU-Z says my BIOS version is 82.07.32.00.50 (P2010-0050) Do I need the fixed fan BIOS or am I all set? If I have an older BIOS version I want to fix it now while the card is still RMA eligible, just in case.

Good morning, If this was a recent purchase you should be all set. Pretty much anything purchased after April should have the updated firmware already applied. Yes you can RMA the video card if you would like, just make sure it's registered to your EVGA account and contact support.

The SC version isn't too quiet either - it's the noisiest thing in my system and it's pretty bad considering I'm using an Intel stock cooler and I've locked the fan @ its minimum, 40%! At 80% it simply can't be barely noticeable, even a reference-cooled GTX275 or 560Ti are quieter. Has anyone tried using a resistor?

Does anyone realize that Gigabyte is running their fan at 51% I think it is? % has NOTHING to do with the noise. Fan design is the issue. My card never gave me an issue though, so I have nothing to complain about. it is a strong little card.

% is a issue since the 750 Ti FTW w/ ACX it never leaves 40% with a max OC. That means that a fan with 40% of the speed of the ones included would be sufficient so cool that card. Lets just for safety's sake use fans that are 50% the speed to give some head room. That means that you can then get down to 40% of that which would be half of before and likely silent.

I just bought an used Cards some days ago and are stunned by the noise from the fans. So dissapointed to learn about these problems from an EVGA product. The small gamer where the Card was intended to sit in, was for our livingroom but there is no way this is going to happend. (The Card was bought new from an Fellow friend mid february 2014). Secondly the performance of the Card by doing 3Dmark Vantage tests is 20% behind testresults from different testsites. Combined of the to problems I have, I have made en RMA to EVGA but hope are low after seeing the arrogance they show in this tread. Card will be up for sale Again if they let me Down and EVGA will never be part of my computer equipment Again. Grrrr...
