Some very sexy cards. For users without the x4 mobo's quad SLI ispossible again, but the performance will be lower than 4 GTX 580's

Ok you reviewing nubs... It is high time to start including at least three of the hardest stressing games on Triple monitors so we can see the true power of these monsters. Good Lord.
Quit leaving us out!!!!!!!!!!!
HardOCPs review of the 590 was done in Surround vs. EyeFinity. Is Metro 2033 enough of a game for you? http://hardocp.com/article/2011/03/24/asus_geforce_gtx_590_video_card_review/5 The 590 = two GTX 570 in SLi. The 590 showed it's weaknesses just as it has using a single 30" monitor. The 590 is far from the fastest or greatest GPU EVAR!!! despite what the nvidia marketing department wants people to think. If giant boxes and T-shirts sell video cards, perhaps evga should try it with all their GPU releases.

EVGA is out (single air-cooled cards) but the Egg still has them. Just can't bring myself to pull the trigger. That's a boat load of cash!

I looked at some of the reviews and they were ok. This card does not blow away the 6990 like I hoped that it would. One reviewer said that the 590 that they were reviewing was a pain in the butt to overclock and that it blew up. A pair of 580's still kicks this card's butt. That's disappointing. I expected it to out run the 580. I really want to buy this card, but it doesn't blow my skirt up. Hey Jacob, let's see some stats on a quad sli set up. I also did notice that the reviewers did not use the 267.84 drivers that were written for this card. Maybe that has something to do with the frame rates. I hope that a pair of 590's is better performing than a pair of 295's.

That is why I chose to not buy another GPU until the Vram was enough for Surround. And that is the bottom line because Stone Cold Said So...

I wonder if nvidia didn't go a little light on the 590's stock performance on purpose. Look at the 295. That thing is a beast of a card. I've got one now and it still would just be replaced by a 580. Maybe they don't want to have another card that can last 2 generations worth of new cards.

Holy crap :P What I like most of all is the packaging and overall design. Excellent design. IMO, it'd be a waste not to purchase the Hydro Copper version. The air cooled version would get ridiculously hot and noisy. Not a bad savings over 580FTW's in SLI, but of course the performance just isn't the same. I wonder if overclocked to the same specs whether it would be identical or the power limiter would kick in well before that?

The worrisome part is that the card blew up, not the reviewer's skills. Today there are several reports and even a video of the 590 going up in smoke as reviewers (more than one) have seen this thing self-destruct while overclocking. The only way this GPU has a chance is to overclock it to match the clocks and shaders of the normal 580, like it should have been in the first place. If it is going to catch fire as you approach the 580 clocks, then it isn't worth the keen box and T-shirt, but then I guess there are some people that really think big boxes mean big products.

In another thread we have discussed a 580 3gig version, where Jacob said "stay tuned". Is this what you guys meant, the 590?
No, this is about a 580 3G
NICE! thats great to hear!!!! I will hold off on the 590 then and get 3 EVGA 580 3gigs when they drop.

How much is this card compared to 2 580's? Of course you're not going to get the same performance. You can't even buy two 480's for the price of this card new. It was clear from the beginning that the GPU's would have to be under-clocked to achieve specifications. How many people here actually have room for 4 580's SLI in their case anyway? This is a nice card, because a year down the road, you can grab another one at half price, which is what I'll probably be doing when BF3 hits the shelves. The HD 6990 is cool for people with DP monitors, but getting that card, then dealing with the BS adapters you need to get DVI monitors to work with Eyefinity is more than I wanted to play around with. Nvidia did it right, for the typical gamer.

Junglekorak Evga people... can this be true on your datasheet? EVGA GeForce GTX 590 Classified Quad SLI (2 Pack) ---> "Minimum of a 700 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 50 Amps.) Two 8-pin PCI Express power connectors or four available 6-pin PCI Express power connectors" http://eu.evga.com/produc...es%20Family&uc=EUR I didnt check every product, but that just catch my eye. i think 700w is not enough to juice these quad sli That is only for a single card. EVGA does not list the psu requirements for SLI configurations. Information on supported and certified power supplies for SLI configurations is listed, as always, at Nvidia's SLI Zone. When Nvidia begins certifying psu's for Quad-SLI GTX590's, that will be the place to go.

So for those who bought it, how much of an overclock on you going to put on the card ? I would be happy with 750mhz and 900mhz on the ram and 1300 on the shaders.

Well two GTX 580's beat the AMD 6990 dual GPU naturally for $300 more and will do the same to the GTX 590 dual. In fact it compared to GTX 570's SLI more evenly performance and pricing. You won't need four GTX 580's Quad SLI to beat two GTX 590's in SLI. Three GTX 580's slightly beat two AMD 6990 dual gpu's for the same price per performance, $1400 against $1500. So I'm going out on a limb in saying that will be the same results against the GTX 590 dual gpu's. I'm bummed no step up from my GTX 580 for another $200 to GTX 590 somewhat. So I guess I'm breaking out five more bills and SLI my GTX 580 and at least be comforted in the fact it's better in performance albeit at a higher cost. Ah well, *Mosher bites bullet* I'm going to wait a few months in hopes a small price break and take the SLI plunge.

How funny I know what you mean, I've got mine set aside in cash. Can't Newegg it, she'll see the delivery. Will have to go to Fry's Electronics to buy my second GTX580. *sigh* Having to sneek it in and install too boot.

Hi, If I use a package forwarding service to buy from evga directly, such as myus.com. Will I be covered by the warranty? I live in Hong Kong, and I already contacted my local evga distributor Hornington.com, but they told me that they would not carry any 590s from evga, so this is the only way I can get the water cooled 590s.
