What are the benefits of having a back plate, even if you do not have liquid cooling? Would i see any benefit from installing one other than protection of the PCB?

Kinda bummed that there is no hint of red to match the 570 color scheme, but I still put in my order for two anyway. Thanks for the heads up!

Can anyone give me a rough estimate on how much taller the card will be with this added on? The specifications pdf did not have dimensions on it.
Currently, my ram slots are right above the card, and without a backplate, sit about a quarter inch above the PCB. How much will the backplate raise the card?

There is an EU site and Asian site :)
http://asia.evga.com/ is only available for home page menu and it will be automatically switch to USA region evga.com/blablabla whenever I go to product page or any other page. It means that I cannot buy the GTX570 backplates in Asia. Help

I have installed mine (It was a 580 backplate just took some paint thinner on the 580 paint) and I see no change in load temperature. I combined it with a low flow bracket.
Idle:
Before:44C
After:42C
Furmark temps at steady state:
Before:85C
After:85C
I realized that the temperature could go much lower by enabling the fan control on precision. After doing so my load temps are now at 74C. Granted the computer is a bit louder when the temp is high...
