I recently purchased 2 GTX 1080 FTW cards. I’m having the following directx issue during Battlefield 1 and BFV open beta: DirectX function "FindClosestMatchingMode" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a drive upgrade for the video card has occured.") GPU: I’m running Win 10 pro, AMD 8 core Ryzen threadripper 1900X, MSI X399 Gaming ProCarbon Mobo, 16 GB G Skill Ripjaw V series, 2 - EVGA GTX 1080 FTW 8GB, 1TB ssd boot drive, EVGA SuperNova 1200 P2 ps. I’ve tried about everything. Last I removed some programs on start up and lowered the clock speeds and I got BF1 to work a few rounds. BFV open beta will crash in the title screen and during match loading. I tried debug mode and still nothing. Tried installing different drivers, moving cards around, removing a card, different slots, sli, no sli, benchmarked through afterburner, updated bios on Mobo, updated all other drivers, clean installs, clean boot, changed my fan curve to come on at lower temps. It’s not really heating up to much. 29c idle and 58c running before the crash. Any help would be great. I limited the FPS at 60 in game. Was running 4K at 59.xx hz.

I think, since you're reporting a common issue, that you need to wait for the game to mature and for them to iron out the bugs. For the time being setting 'Borderless Full Screen' mode seems to work.

bdary Run DDU (safe mode) option. Then install the latest graphics driver again. See if that clears things up DDU is located here >
Tried it to no avail.

BF1 mature? It is an EA game so it may never mature any further. I can’t even get passed the title screen to get to option to change to borderless.

This error usually means one of two things... #1 Card is unstable. #2 Monitoring programs such as msi afterburner, precision xoc, etc are conflicting with the game.

Ya I closed afterburner. I was able to get to game once. Not sure why it’s unstable. I’ve removed them. Used one at a time. Switched them around. Nothing.

I’ve tried that as well. I’ll try going lower. Thank you for the help!
