What really is different with the second bios besides power target? Or are you able to put a custom bios on it (without voiding warrenty)

... "allows you to experiment with custom bioses without risk of breaking the card" ...

I don't see a thing about voiding the warranty by using a "custom" bios ...
... in fact, the wording "allows you to experiment", could easily be interpreted as just the opposite ...

Exactly.  But as we all know, traditionally, flashing to a custom bios (or flashing to ANY bios) is the quickest way to void your warranty.  So my question is can we now all flash our bios at will without voiding our warranty, or is that privilege reserved for those who waited 6 months to jump on the 700-series bandwagon?

Would think it would only pertain to the cards that actually have the "EVGA Double Bios" feature shown & stated ...
... as exampled in the above for the 780 Classified HC card.

... "priviledge, reserved, bandwagon" ...
Sure hope this thread / new feature isn't headed in the same direction as the "explain the pricing on the 780 Classified HC card" thread went ...

My favorite part about my 680 classifieds was that they had 3 bios'. So I could void my warranty 3 times over. Across 4 cards. I voided 12 evga warranties in less than 15 minutes.

If that is indeed the case, I will likely be so irritated I will think twice before buying EVGA again.

It's one thing to lock the voltage on all cards except the "top of the line" model, but it's quite another to offer two separate lines of cards -- one with a spare bios on which users are allowed to fool with the settings (re: unlock voltage), and another with just one set of factory settings that cannot be touched without voiding your warranty.  I spent good money on my gpu's, quite a lot of it actually; if I were given the option to go in and unlock the voltage in the bios without fear of voiding my warranty I would probably do so.  Why should only people who waited several months to buy an EVGA product get that privilege while those of us who had our money in-hand ready to spend it the moment they'd take it don't?

I'm not going to beat a dead horse, so I'll just say I hope they rethink this strategy/policy and leave it at that.

Looks like this is the new "Dual" version of your 770 SC ACX card : http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-2776-KR
EVGA is obviously coming out with a new feature for some of their 700 series cards ...
... I would think that this is a good thing ---- no, I know that it's a good thing ...

So, I guess you would have preferred for EVGA to wait until the 800 Series cards to introduce the Dual/Double Bios feature ...
... or, how long is EVGA expected to have to wait to release a new & better feature / version of a card (or price ), so that "some" people who bought the previous version don't get all bent out of shape over the said new improvement ?? ...

If it makes you feel any better (but, I kinda' doubt it will) ...
... the brand spankin' new 700 series "Dual" cards that people are buying yesterday, today, & tomorrow ...
... will most certainly & most definitely be dated & improved upon, with the release of the 800 series cards ...

I apparently have the dual bios update available at my products page. How should I go about this update having two cards in SLI? Do I have to flash them separately in the main pcie slot or is the software able to flash both of them as is?

Nevermind, it indeed updated both cards. Not I'm able to lower fan speed to 29% and set power tgt up to 115%. I wonder if there are any other changes..

Yes, *OR* I would have preferred that they release it at the beginning of the 700-series.

Can't say for sure, but I'm sure I would have felt better had I had my brand new $800+ worth of 770s for more than a month before the hardware was replaced by something better.  It's not like I waited until late in the cycle to upgrade, I bought them about a month after they hit shelves, and basically as soon as they weren't sold out all the time.

*OR* I would prefer that EVGA simply give me the same options on my card as new buyers spending the SAME AMOUNT that I spent have.  Allow me to edit/flash my bios without voiding my warranty.  If new buyers can do it, why can't existing owners?  They're going to have to revisit the legal wording of the warranty policy anyway.  It's impossible to return a card to EVGA in exactly the same physical condition they received it if they are expressly allowed to flash/edit/change the bios.

My 770 Classified still only goes up to +111 Power Target. Any intentions or raising this. Even to AT LEAST 115. I mean, it is part of the classified series after all.

Something's not right then. My 770 classys are both currently set at 115% in precision.

I never understood the low Power Target on these things. Why make such a beefy card that can handle 1.5v+ (albeit with temps kept in check) and then lock the Power Target at 115%? Thank God for software voltage control again, that was a huge step in the right direction. But why force us to flash to a modded BIOS just to enjoy that 1.35v with software? Anyone who buys this card most likely knows enough to be able to flash the BIOS, but still. Why allow the card 1.35v with software and 1.5v with EVbot and then have it throttle at anything over 1.3v? Seems kind of counter-productive.

Because they charge more for the model with the voltage unlocked ("Classified").  Same principle Intel uses with the "K" and "X" cpu's.

Of course, now allowing BIOS modification sort of flies in the face of this principle, so I really don't know what they're thinking now.

No the Classified is specifically what I'm talking about. With 115% Power Target, I throttle well below the allowable 1.35v. That's what I mean- allowing X amount of voltage but guaranteeing the card throttles well below that voltage level seems pretty counter-productive, ESPECIALLY on a beefed-up card like the Classified that's made to handle excessive levels of power/voltage.

Because they didn't adopt something new right away, they waited. For there waiting, this is what they were rewarded. I can't even get above 1110 MHz on my 3 Titans anyways so running a aftermarket bios won't help me, I've already tried with a few and no dice. Even though they didn't do this to Titan its whatever, more people buy 780 and below cards I think, that's were the money pool is.

I will either find a way, or make one.

I don't see how it can void your warranty if they are providing the bios from there website specific to your card .
Also if you notice you have to go to My product,View details then download bios. They probably did that
because they only want you to install bios specific to your card. Not for example installing like 780 bios on a 760 or a 770 card. You cant just go anywhere on the website to download them.  I guess there covering there ass.
Just a thought ! :)

Also! 770 class has a 3 bios switch
and the 770gtx + 780gtx has 2 bios switch.
I didn't know if you guys were aware of that.

Look on the back of the PCB you should see some sort of DIP switches . Also look on the left side of were the power connections are there might be one there like the 770.

So is it assumed that none of these duals will have the titan cooler?

very doubtful, as the the Titan Cooler 770's are limited production and came out before dual bios did.
