zophar Unboxing video by The Mod Zoo Munkys.
Thanks!! About the CD drive bay...while I understand that the industry has moved to software based products/media and we hardly ever use CD's/DVD's. I still like having a Optical Drive option. Sometimes there are problems with booting from a USB stick, I've had that myself and HAD to use a CD. Plus when it comes to say motherboard drivers and a new build and you CAN'T get online because you need a network driver first...that's just a PITA. Or say I need to rip a movie or a clip that no one else has, to upload it...I still use a tape player in my car! Obviously for MP3's cause CD players in cars just suck! lol They could have at least added a space for it...not all of us are gamers 24/7. Saying that the case is HUGE so maybe it will fit after all, just dump it inside! lol I'm just saying this in general, still love this case!

EVGA_JacobF Preorder now available! More details:
More coverage from Computex: Toms Hardware:
TweakTown: KitGuru: Toms Hardware Video (Italian): Fudzilla: Awesomesauce: Pauls Hardware:
When do you think the preorders will start to ship Jacob? I purchased mine way back on the first day the preorder was available!!! So I'm hoping mine will be one of the first ones shipped. I have a brand new Rampage V Edition 10 ready to go in this baby (sorry EVGA no EVGA motherboard this time but maybe a x99 Classified in my future). Thanks Bit
Shipping in August, apparently...apparently. Saw they extended the preorder, must be a popular case. And I was worried I order on the 2nd day of announcement! lol Hope there will be enough of these around come August/September.

was not much of a unboxing rather than a quick preview of the cases features ! not to mention they basically repeated what was already said in most CES videos of the case. However I felt they was not very informative or have much knowledge of the product prior to filming. Would have been a lot more educational if they researched the case then shot the video at the end the guy on camera not knowing the model number is scary and raises a bigger question as to why do they let people with small or hardly any knowledge do reviews for them? surely its got to be more than simple youtube hit counter that makes mod zoo accountable for viable reviews....
That's what I was thinking when I watched that video. They didn't talk about the things I wanted to know, and they didn't know about the things they were talking about. I knew more about the case than they did! ("hurr, reservoir goes where?" - You're holding it!) I could have put a build into it and made a video swankier than that, EVGA!

Ha Ha they had no clue about the reservoir bracket! Nothing I haven't seen before but still cool...its the prototype too.

Ok, your right not an "unboxing". The video was basically a first look reaction video. They will do a much more in depth look at it probably this week and get a good overview on the ins and outs of it.

don't think they said anywhere, but hopefully towards the beginning! I got my pre-order in on day 2, so with any luck there won't be too long of a wait.

Agreed. I just wish they would at least give us more details. August is one of the longest months of the year; when can we actually expect these at our doors. Between 1st-10th, 10th-20th, 20th-31st?! Or sometime in early September?

Hasn't been said yet, but I'm sure it connects to the board using one of the USB headers. Then you install the DG tuner software found here http://www.evga.com/software/. While the DG tuner software is running you simply push the K button to run your CPU and GPU in OC mode (sets CPU and GPU to max clocks and keeps them there). It also sets your fans to 100% when turned on and 50% when turned off by default.

From what ive heard, all it does is change windows power profiles. Personally im hoping I can somehow map that button for something else. :p I might even just hard wire that button as a power button for a hidden raspberry Pi.

uh what. it is for one-button jumping between a default "quiet" profile and an overclocked profile in EVGA Precision. (like a physical fan controller for your whole pc)

So it has absolutely no purpose unless you have EVGA for everything? Alright, ill sharpen the wire clippers before it gets here then.

I mean, the only thing you need is the EVGA Precision afaik. (as opposed to using MSI Afterburner) So your PC boots and runs normally without an OC to cut down on power usage, heat etc. And then when gaming time hits, you press the button and BAM she's throttled up 100% max OC and ready to fire. but yeah if you're not interested in that functionality turn it into w/e you like I suppose!

I'm going to assume this button only has a purpose if you have EVGA hardware in it? If so, for most of us that button is gonna be quite useless indeed. Unless EVGA software is somehow cross compatible with competitor brands, in that case its a different story. Not entirely sure why its necessary to toggle it though. Don't CPUs and GPUs already downclock on low loads on their own anyway?

Problem with Kboost is all the apps that stop it from working. Everytime I have to close a few apps to activate it. Annoyingly Battle.net client gets an overlay and prevents Kboost if open on screen.

You don't need any EVGA hardware. Precision X is just a program, it's called EVGA because they produce it and handle the releases. (just as how Afterburner is now produced by MSI, after they picked it up off that guy who originally made it or w/e) The software will work with anything.

Nice overview video the host as very knowledgable of the product . I do hope the little things he pointed out does get fixed in the final build ! This should be considered a premium case, after all I am paying a premium price so I expect at least a quaility case .

I think this case will become very popular in Origin PC and similar companies for high end configuration. Special for customer who ask to someone build them full custom water cooling RIG with more GPU. I always hate cables behind PC case, like some horse tail, bunch of them... this is great solution. This case could be great and modern successor of my Obsidian 650D. If you have lock on side panels once case without them are not option any more. With full tower case important thing is to fit great in living room, with Plasma TV, Hi-Fi, etc... And this case fit great, elegant with great option for cooling.

Can anyone tell me if a 280mm AIO CPU cooler will fit in the top of these cases? I know that is says you can fit a 360mm or 420mm, but does that automatically mean that I can fit a 280mm radiator at the top? Heres the cooler I was looking at?
Thanks

as above poster says, yes it will of course fit. when they say compatibility for 360mm and 420mm it just means there is space for and holes drilled for up to x3 of either 120mm fans or 140mm fans. So a 280mm with two 140mm fans will fit fine, you just use two of the three mounting spots for your rad and fans.
