Let's assume that EVGA will release the SR-2 mainboard this or next year:
What do you think about the case Corsair Obsidian 800D? Will the sr-2 fits in this case?

GPU = XfX 5970 BE
HDD = OCZ Vertex2 100GB
PSU =Enermax Rev85+ 1,2 kW

Rig, RAM, CPU & case = looking for

depending on the height of standoffs, get non-threaded plastic snap in standoffs for holes that your case doesnt have, and match the height

for example -

http://www.jkcomputersystems.com/catalog.php?c=Miscellaneous&i=MI-SCW-ATSNAP-50

are these the sticky-back plastic standoffs needed for the p80? if not where can i buy them from?(internet)
or provide a picture of what they look like

Personally I am thinking of going with the p80. Its a nice case, roomy, good place for rads and so on.

However I am waiting it out, as I have a sneaking feeling a few case will pop up at some point around release (possibly why we don't have a solid ETA on release as it is). I'd love to see something a bit more affordable, not that I'm really complaining about MM or Lain Li they make great cases but given how much the setup is going to cost as it is saving $100 or so on a case would be nice. That is nearly the second set of ram, or a water block.

I can't agree more about the long run.

Concerning Lian Li as I have myself (TYR PC-X2000), I think they are overvalued and highly praised. One thing I don't like is when a company Like Lian Li close there Lian Li Member Forum and hide from there customers. Personal I would boycott a company like that.

Do you have a case you could recommend? I don't want anything bigger than the Lian Li PC-P80.

 "Important note: a case with 9 or more expansion slots is required, 10 for 4-Way SLI. See this page for a list of compatible PC cases."

also the mobo trail  is 365mm wide and the sr2 is about 385mm

it will be behind the HDD cage but i believe there will be some rooms for the PSU otherwise that cage will be removed cos I do not need alot of HDDs though but I may mod it.

Actually it's 381mm to be exact - only minor difference is 16mm, this is bloody tiny problem!

Hi Echrei.

No not at the moment, I have bean looking around quit a lot, but I think it's to early to expect to much at the moment. But if I see one, of course I'm going to "blow the horn" for you. I'm looking at the Lian Li PC-P80 my self even doe there are things I don't like with it, for example the shining inside, I want i totaly black.

I did write a letter do Corsair and suggested them to develop a case for the EVGA Classified SR-2 motherboard, like an extended version of Corsair Obsidian 800D. I got an answer that it seems interesting so he is going to send it to Corsairs department for there case technicians.

If I see any computer case I let you know mate.

Until then, take good care of you my friend.

It will fit fine according to the other poster who photoshopped the pictures in actual size in this thread. Find it here! It will show you in every detail.

I just opened my case, and noticed that there is a good gap between the motherboard tray and the HDD cage, to make some room for the cables for PSU and the others.

I will wait for the mobo but am confident it will fit. Thanks!

I'd like to believe so. So, yes, it will fit as the gap is very roomy for the PSU connector. It will go under the HDD cage so it should be okey. I have seen them with my own eyes.

Will take some photos soon.

Has anyone found a case like the SilverStone Raven RV02 with the motherboard rotated 90 degrees?

I think this design is really good for airflow and air cooling if you decided to go that way. I think the maingear shift case does something similar, though it is not available at retail.

DD should get on this. I personally don't like the designs of most of their cases. I have two 5 drive hot swap bays that take up 3U each, meaning I need MINIMUM 8 5.25 drive bays (6 for hot swap bays, 2 for DVD and Blue Ray optical drives). Do their cases even do that? And look nice...

They need to create more space where the HDD Swap bays are otherwise the plastic would not fit if SR-2 is in. Height is not really a problem, only the openings/slot on the backplane. That HDD boards are crap so I use direct connect.

Finally got my DD Double Wide Tower 21 Black Series-Bruiser -UV Blue.

21inch length x 17inch wide x 21inch height.

Had two PSU's cut on one side rotated second unit opening.
Had two 120mm fan openings cut in top for Corsair H50's.
MBtray size 20 x 20 most of the holes line up. will need to drill and tap 2.
HDD rack attaches to top on PSU side.
Wrong I/O panel shipped 7 slot.  DD has already shipped me a 10 slot.
Hardware ON/OFF buttons 5.25 mounts.  $579.00 with shipping.

They also make a 24x16x24 for 3 rad setups. If you don't require any cutting its $411.94 shipped add $115.00 for any custom cutting.

Ouch that to me is a really high price tag for a non-metal case. Seeing as a MM Ascension is $399 with the SR2 tray, quad rad on back and 2 sets of 3x120 up front.

Other then for looks of a see through UV case (since they are both big square boxes at the end of the day) I can't personally see a reason to not go with MM. Still it will be cool to see that thing put together.

99,9% chances of NO. HAF-X is almost the same chassis (steel part) as the HAF 932 is, but without the top PSU hole, givin space to 2 additional PCI-E slots. But it is not deep enough. However, if you remove the hd and drive bay (giving no room to HDs, dvdrom, baybus and etc) the mobo will probably fit.

It share the same chassis base with the TT Xaser, so, if the xaser fit, that HEC will. But my guess is that they aren't deep enough.

Attached you can see at left "HEC 98" and right the "Xaser"
