This BIOS is ONLY for the EVGA 750i FTW Motherboard (part number 123-YW-E175- ) SZ1K Updates: - Improved system stability with 8GB of memory.
BIOS updating can be accomplished VIA the below methods: CD/DVD Installation - Recommended installation method- Download the following .iso file: E175_SZ1K.iso
- Use a CD Burning software to burn the .iso image onto a blank CD (Nero, Alochol 120%, MagicISO etc.)
- After it has burned, insert CD and restart the machine, go into the BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
- Now set the CD Drive as the primary boot device, or press escape while the system is booting to select CD as the bootable device.
- After flash remove the CD, and power off PC Completely.
- Turn on the PC and load defaults in BIOS
USB FLOPPY Installation - Recommended installation method- Download the following executable: E175_SZ1K.exe
- Insert blank floppy disk into drive and run executable
- After the floppy has written fully, restart the machine, go into the BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
- Now set the USB Floppy as the primary boot device, or press escape while the system is booting to select USB Floppy as the bootable device
- After flash remove the floppy, power off PC Completely
- Turn on the PC and load defaults in BIOS
USB Flash Drive Installation - Alternate installation method- Download: E175SZ1K.bin
- Visit this thread and follow the installation instructions. (thanks 30h6).
- Use the downloaded .bin file in the USB flash drive.
Warning: **Do not restart or interrupt your PC while the flash is ongoing **Do not Flash BIOS on overclocked settings **It is always recommended to power-down after flash and Clear CMOS

HOLY CRAP thank you SO MUCH. I thought my 750i FTW would never get the 8GB attention it needs. You guys rock!
Evil wizard! - An Alienware MJ-12 case from Alienware, with holes drilled in it because of: - EVGA GeForce 285 1GB (Not classified): - EVGA 750i SLI FTW Motherboard. It's cool. It is home to a: - Q6600 Core 2 Quad processor, overclocked, which doesn't get too hot, but the - 8GB DDR2 RAM at 1066 MHz gets hot enough to melt sapphires.

Hi EVGATech_JocoBF, could you be more specific about this update and what it actually does? Does this bios update give users more "advanced" memory options. Need more info plz.

I've been using 8gb on my 750i for 6 months and haven't noticed any problems... This is either an extremely rare bugfix or something so obvious I have to take an ego hit for not noticing it. :)

Thanks EVGA for updating a product that is not even available anymore, it shows how you care for your customers. I appreciate that. Would it be possible to have an history of the fixes that was included with the earlier Bios (SZ1H, SZ1I and maybe older)? This is the first BIOS update I'm doing so far and would like to know the fixes that came with the other updates. Thanks

Hi all. I recent bought an Asus Xonar hdav1.3 sound card for Pci express and it won't install or be detected by windows 7 because of a "PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge" fault which happens when the card is installed on the EVGA 750I FTW mainboard. The same problem accured on a simular mainboard namely the EVGA 680 mainboard but was fixed with a newer bios update. So maybe there could be a fix for this problem on the EVGA 750i FTW?

other than tweaks for using 8gb would this be worthwhile to do? any improvements, better overclocking, more stable? better with windows 7? my build is stable but have not been able to run my q6600 at 400x9, like most others, i was wondering if this bios would help dont really wanna kill an entire weekend flashing the bios then doing a full reoverclock session only to find that i have not gained anything.

I flashed to SZ1K, and my system will not run anywhere even close to my previous overclock on SZ1I. On SZ1I I was overclocked at 3.6ghz cpu OCZ DDR2 8500 @ 1100 5-5-5-12-2t. With the SZ1K I could not even get my system to run at 3.2 ghz, ram 1000 5-5-5-15 2t. Went back to SZ1I, sux too my memory was getting way better bench at stock with the new bios then it was overclocked on the old one :(. I decided to try this bios out. It works just as good as the sz17 bios did, no issues. Same performance as sz17 with "fast read" set to Auto. Can't enable "fast read" but I'm guessing thats because the overclock is so high. Solid as a rock though.

I had the same issues with a slightly older version of the Bios and a pcie serial/parallel card -- I had to roll back to a fairly old version of the bios to get it to work -- so it is a Bios issue hope they will fix it at some point -- search for my posts (there is not too many) I may have put the working bios version in there.

It's good to see that they're coming out with new bios revisions for this motherboard, but I wish they'd enable an AHCI mode for my SSD drive. The ASUS 750i bios has an option for it, why doesn't the EVGA bios? Ransom EDIT: Pretty please?

This bios makes my system completely unstable at all settings. I was running 8GB of ram with my CPU (Q9650) OC'd to 4GHz with complete stability when using the SZ1I bios. Then I saw this release and thought that maybe I could OC even more with similar voltages if I updated to it. However, it wasn't stable at any voltages I tried ... I was even unstable at lower clock settings with the same voltages! I really wanted the new bios to work, but after 2 weeks of tinkering with it every night, I ended up going back to the SZ1I bios. I just could not get this thing stable at or near 4GHz. Do yourself a favor and go back to the previous bios. I run 2 GTX285's in SLI on this board and have never had video corruption of any type. What you're getting now sounds similar to a system lockup due to instability. EVGA, please try again... the SZ1K bios = fail. I'm not the only one to say this. Once I started looking for people with similar problems on these forums, I found several threads where people mention stability issues due to this bios. Ransom

I had the SZ1K bios installed for about a day, before I went back to the SZ1I bios. With SZ1I I can OC my Q6600(G0) to 3.2Ghz and keep my system running stable. Any higher and it'll cr@p out. With SZ1K installed, I couldn't even OC my system to 3.0Ghz without it cr@pping out, and I spent a lot of time try to figure out how to get it going properly. BTW, I agree with one of the previous poster's when they said there should be a version history for the bioses so we can see what's been fixed or changed. WG

I had one instance of video corruption after the update to SZ1K (from SZ17). I didn't think anything of it though. Looking back on it now, I probably should have. After flashing the bios to sz1k, I applied my prior bios settings as they were and did not stability test the results. I tested bandwidth and performance only. I figured all was well as it was before. Apparently, that was not the case since my Vista drive is now corrupt. Its my own fault, for lack of testing I guess. So then, that said, is it a common thing to have to start from scratch on an overclock after a bios update?

I really like the 750ftw board ,I bought 2 lol . Both still running rock solid.

Drobomb bushwakka anyone else getting the video corruption issue with this new BIOS? haven't flashed it myself....but right now im experiencing an infrequent problem (but present nonetheless) sometimes when playing Warcraft 3......no lines down the screen but the whole screen goes into a giant mess of colours and stops and freezes.....doesn't happen with anything else.....no reported problems with HoN....so maybe its just that game alone? I had one instance of video corruption after the update to SZ1K (from SZ17). I didn't think anything of it though. Looking back on it now, I probably should have. After flashing the bios to sz1k, I applied my prior bios settings as they were and did not stability test the results. I tested bandwidth and performance only. I figured all was well as it was before. Apparently, that was not the case since my Vista drive is now corrupt. Its my own fault, for lack of testing I guess. So then, that said, is it a common thing to have to start from scratch on an overclock after a bios update? "So then, that said, is it a common thing to have to start from scratch on an overclock after a bios update? " After bios update you need to reset cmos ,so all bios value's start from default , then you need to reset each value ,but the board should run with old Oc settings once you have restored them.I might be mixing up my bios's but I think the 750 bios will let you save a oc profile . Never had a bios update corrupt a drive...... this sounds like another problem.
