SiNNiR Seriously the first few videos were absoluite crap and pretty much not entertaining at all. Actually none of them "really" are good and several don't even qualify, regardless of 1 second or not, rules are rules. "Any video longer than 30 seconds will be disqualified." I'm just disappointed that a mine craft player gets the top prize for building a PC?? really? That's effin pathetic. There's so many better videos out there. I just lost complete faith in EVGA, yep, all because of this contest. I've Been using EVGA products for years and years, but I'm not buying anymore ever in teh future. I'll go support MSI or someone.
None of the winning videos exceed 30 seconds, and they all included game play. I fail to see how they don't "qualify"
You are wrong, there are 2 videos that are between 30 and 31 secs, ie more than 30 secs. If they are 30,50 secs they are more than 30. Do you need I link you them? And to be precise they couldn't even be exactly 30 secs but less than 30 like the official rules say ("Video must have a run time of less than 30 seconds"). Not an opinion.

RushXTC Sweet!!! Glad to see another old timer (Even if it isn't the forums) win something! We just dislike people who joined "3 weeks ago" winning, lol. They usually never come back.
Saying this you could be disrespectful even to me. I registered 3 weeks ago but I use the EVGA site from years. Problems?

Are you really complaining about .197 of a second? The video that went over the longest was only .197 of a second over, clearely there is a tolerance allowed because several things could end up putting your video just a touch over. When I edit, my time format is in seconds and frames, my videos was 30 seconds and 0 frames, looking at this in just seconds you would see 30.030. In the case of the other video, it shows 30 seconds and 5 frames, giving it a time of 30.197. Had the video been 31 seconds or longer, I could completely understand your argument. Since that wasn't the case with any video, I still see no reason they shouldn't qualify.

wc7718 EVGA - Have a recommendation for the next event... perhaps a separate event along the lines of the Gaming Event, Social Media Event, etc.? Can you have a "Loyalty Event" where entries are limited to users who have an EVGA account AND has a 'registered' EVGA product in My EVGA>My Products? Would love to see this further focused on those loyal customers who love EVGA, PCs and gaming. Make sure the prizes go into systems/homes that actually will be used rather than to people who enter and end up reselling their prizes. Thanks!
"We buy your products so you should give us free stuff!" Did I get that right?
No... we're loyal customers who have bought your products and have a better chance at winning a loyalty-based contest. Rather than people who found out about the contest on some random website (and probably never game or even use PCs) for the sake of winning a prize who end up reselling their wins.

I think he was suggesting to make another contest that is based off of loyalty. Nothing wrong with that idea. I don't think he meant to say the scavenger hunt should only be for people who have bought eVGA products before.
Exactly!

I wouldn't mind if they made it for people whom have registered eVGA products. Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. But it depends if they are trying to generate new traffic to the site or not I guess.

The purpose of the event is not to cater to those who feel they're entitled to something because they own EVGA products, or have a high post count. It's supposed to draw attention to EVGA and the sponsors. EVGA would have to either skim prizes from the other events, or get more prizes just for the crybabies who think they deserve more, the simple fact is, YOU DON'T. Be happy you have a great community to work with, great products, and some of the best customer service around. In my opinion, that's more than enough, but EVGA occasionally goes beyond that and gives us several opportunities throughout the year to win things.

I guess if it's strictly exposure, the existing ones work. If they don't care about the soccer moms who troll sweepstakes contest sites and never cared about gaming on PCs... then that's capturing that demographic too.

Seriously... just a suggestion that I thought EVGA customers would appreciate. I'm not supporting the entitlement argument since that's just plain dumb. At least with this 1 variation of the contest it's limited to an audience who love the brand, use their products and will more likely use the win rather than reselling it.

This means they could be max 29:999 secs. I worried about these things when I had to insert my video. Just saying... If they'll let it go it means I overvalued this contest. They make even EVGA Precision but this time they haven't been so precise.

See, we can't agree on a time ourselves, I've checked them all multiple times and the longest was .197 over, clearly you need to allow some room for things like this, otherwise almost none of the videos would qualify because they're fractions of a second too long. I'd suggest focusing on content instead of making sure your video is 29.999 seconds or less.

2 video readers say it's 30.230. My video? I already focused also on the content, don't worry. But if you want to speak about the content, there isn't even the reason to focus on it if the chosen is like the 3th one. Tell me why it deserved that position.

The judges picked what they liked, just because you didn't like it, well it doesn't make any difference at all. It deserved that position because the people in charge chose it for that position. There's nothing more to it, you can say it sucked, it was bad, whatever you want, your opinion means nothing in this situation.

So also you can't tell me why. If also for you it doesn't mean anything then it means something. But if the content is subjective and in this case it was, why did you ask me to focus on the content? For then telling me that my opinion means nothing as well as yours after all? I think our conversation can just stop here.

I've entered EVGA's Anniversary Event every year and this time I was lucky (in the Social Media Event anyways). Woot, woot! I can't wait to try out their TORQ X10! I received their email today and replied post haste however I found it odd though that they never requested any info from me. Does anyone remember what info was required when entering the Social Media Event because I am curious as to how exactly they match up your info you entered in the Event against your EVGA account?

Was either last year or the year before last I forgot the contest ended in Aug and missed it completely! But yeah, the contest is always during the second half of July so it will be easy to remember for next year ;)

werty316 I've entered EVGA's Anniversary Event every year and this time I was lucky (in the Social Media Event anyways). Woot, woot! I can't wait to try out their TORQ X10! I received their email today and replied post haste however I found it odd though that they never requested any info from me. Does anyone remember what info was required when entering the Social Media Event because I am curious as to how exactly they match up your info you entered in the Event against your EVGA account?
Same with me but I am pretty sure that the moderator knows how to find my information on here. They might just search for your email address or name within the evga.com user database. If you aren't sure, just email the moderator and let him know what your user name on evga.com is. I'm sure he won't mind.

After 8 years, i finally won something! WooHoo!! I couldn't be more happier with the fact that i finally won! To top it off, i never would have expected it to be a ShadowPlay recording that would win it for me. In addition, it was a recording of my most beloved video game, most intense, hardcore, on its own genre of a game, Tribes Ascend. Although its not my favorite of the bunch, that would be Tribes 2, it was still a Tribes series game and i am totally losing my (Word deleted for foul language) here! Thank you EVGA! http://youtu.be/q4kuckUWHlw

Yes he will email you within 15 business days. He emailed me and confirmed everything but no tracking yet. Hasn't been 15 business days, I can wait. If they don't email you within a couple weeks you can always feel free to email the moderator and he'll get back to you.
