In the winning videos there are a couple that are between 30 and 31 secs, but the rules were clear. And a couple that were posted some years ago. I hope at least those were made by them. Just saying...

yeah that true but would just feel wrong for the evga team to say no to a good video cause its one sec more

Rules:
Any video longer than 30 seconds will be disqualified.
Video must have a run time of less than 30 seconds
 
I haven't added a nice clip because otherwise I risked to exceed 30 seconds (even if probably I wouldn't have won the same). That's not a reason. And however they already disqualified other videos with more than 30 secs.

well that "build" was made long time ago only thing they'v done was ad EVGA on the bottom. this PC was uploaded on youtube long long time ago more than a year.

Is that true?  Do you have a link (or the youtube video name/ID if you can't post the link)?
If the person just grabbed someone's Minecraft map and plastered on an EVGA logo, it would constitute plagiarism, wouldn't it?

He explicitly said under his video he took inspiration from JayzTwoCents ...

That doesn't answer the question.  If you copy someone's work and just change some details, it's still plagiarism even if you say "inspired by".
 
That's why I was asking B-ter for some evidence to support his claim.

Dude that case build in there was Jayztwocents' Project Skunkwork that was shown on his YouTube channel last month. That's the inspiration part. 
 
If you are so convinced it was plagiarized, why not show the original video?

I have never seen most of the winner usernames on the forums at all.

Seriously the first few videos were absoluite crap and pretty much not entertaining at all.  Actually none of them "really" are good and several don't even qualify, regardless of 1 second or not, rules are rules. "Any video longer than 30 seconds will be disqualified."
I'm just disappointed that a mine craft player gets the top prize for building a PC?? really?  That's effin pathetic.  There's so many better videos out there.  
I just lost complete faith in EVGA, yep, all because of this contest.  I've Been using EVGA products for years and years, but I'm not buying anymore ever in teh future.  I'll go support MSI or someone.
 

some videos where really good but minecraft where not my favorit but you are just mad cause you dident win :) handle it..

+1..... every year this type of dissent happens in some form or another over one contest or the other. I guess ot needs to be said again.... if you are a pre existing member at EVGA you most likely are not going to win anything in the anny contests. It's not for us....it's to attract new members it seems cause those are the only ones who win, for the most part. Once you let that info sink in and accept it, this won't hurt ya sooo bad. It's free stuff....you didn't lose anything by not winning, it was.t yours to start with. No big deal. To all those that did win, congrats and hopefully you stick around. To those who are long time members who won, if any, it makes me super happy to find out you've won cause like many here, I'd like to see the core community that keeps this place going be rewarded. \m/

i have been here a good time :) i won gtx 750ti i so im happy ;) and i will still stick around. :)

Congratulations to all the winners. I can't complain about not winning anything because of this brand new EVGA 1600 G2 that I won just recently. EVGA FTW

I'm with you ManBearPig, after recently winning a GTX 750 I wasn't expecting to win. But you always gotta give props to EVGA for even giving us a chance at free stuff. Awesomeness! Congrats to all the winners!

Holy smokes, can't believe I won a prize! Thanks a ton to EVGA for hosting the annual Scavenger hunt and CyberPower for offering up a sweet prize! Looking forward to checking out CyberPower's build quality as well as that Titan Black Hydro... going to be a huge upgrade over my EVGA GTX 480 Hydro.  It's definitely going to be folding for the EVGA team

EVGA replies to emails on weekdays only! Given the number of contests & winners that just ended it may take an extra day or two.

Stop saying rubbish thanks. There isn't anything wrong with the first video, I see only a tribute to EVGA not else. About the second one, I have watched other videos like that, even more beautiful. For example have you seen a current finalist video in the BF4 contest or the previous one that won in the BF3 contest? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMu84t_yqQY Reminds you of something? He probably is going to win something. I watched almost all the videos and I thought that video could win something even if I didn't think the second place. As well as there are winning videos that I never would have said they would have won. Basically those things are not so difficult to do, especially with a semi-static object like a heli here. And certain said it would have deserved the first one... They impress only the people that never saw things like those...
And to cap it all, he was doubly lucky since he posted the video the last day after the contest was reopened thanks to a my reporting.
The unique complaint I do is for the videos with more than 30 secs and those that were posted years ago.
 
Thank goodness there is someone doing big contests like these. I hope EVGA will continue to do them even after those rubbish comments.
