I am in the market to build a new PC since it has been 3 years since I've upgraded, and Battlefield 3 is just around the corner, so I want to be able to play that game smoothly on maximum settings.  I was hoping to find out a few things. First, is there a plan to have Virtu supported on the current Z68 boards? Surely there has to be some kind of plan to support for virtual gpu since you don't have any ports? Highly likely or not likely? Second, are there any new boards coming out in the near future before October 25th which  will have Z68 chipset, support Virtu, or have a gpu port?

I would like to stick with EVGA for motherboards since I have yet to have any problems with them; however, the fact that their Z68 boards do not have a GPU port or Virtu support concerns me. I personally watch "TV", if you will, on my computer since I don't subscribe to cable b/c every show or movie is uploaded to the internet, so the idea of having hybrid gpu's is a great feature for me. I am also big with games, and I am very excited for Battlefield 3. My options are sort of limited when it comes to motherboards. ASUS, I just dislike because of all the RMA orders I have had in the past. ASRock is a cheaper division of ASUS, so no way for that. Gigabyte didn't seem to have good reviews for Z68 chipset. Finally, Biostar is unknown to me.

So, what should I do? My budget is fairly high.. say around $1,250 to $1,500 and I already have a case, sound card, optical drive, PSU, and a 1TB hdd. I also plan to use 1 GPU.

Frankly, for your goals, I would suggest sticking it out till SB-E comes.  It is scheduled for 2011 Q4 and should blow the 1155 socket out of the water in so many ways.

We looked into it, but unfortunately it cannot be done on the current Z68 design.

Wow, that is very disappointing. Do you have any new boards coming out within 90 days that will support Virtu gpu, or have gpu ports to use the Z68 chip set? Was thinking about buying an EVGA board, and if you release a new board with in 90days... I'll just upgrade using the step up program, you know?

I was referring to socket 2011 that should be around Q4.
