KevinSlamsPigs It's sooooo beautiful! Can't wait to grab mine (as soon as EVGA puts them back in stock :/)!!
Thanks yeah it's great! JustinXCIV Damn thats nice. Are the lights RGB as well? Also what are your temps like?
Yeah lights are RGB except the FTW logo I believe. Can't seem to find anywhere to change the color on that. But at the very bottom of the imgur is a short gif of the LEDs cycling through the colors. And I have been working a lot lately so haven't been able to game much. But I played overwatch and Shadow of Mordor for about 4 hours yesterday and temps maxed out at 53C where as my 980ti would normally hit 70 and during the afternoon would hit 73-74ish. Idle I sit at 30C and my 980ti would normally be around 35C. Overall this thing is a killer upgrade even from a 980ti.

No you cannot step up to it, it's not a reference PCB and it is a limited supply type item. Check HERE for more information.

I don't think anyone knows for certain. But yeah, I would assume 2 months. I think the SC Hyrbid kit for the 1080 Ti was just released, and the SC came out I think around 1-2 months ago. So yeah, I would say 1-2 more months for FTW3 conversion.

I'm wondering if newegg is going to charge more. I noticed just in the last couple days they raised the price of the SC2 hybrid from 809.99 to 819.99 not sure why.

The reason why: Crypto currency mining, GPU pricing- through the roof, most EVERYONE (Amazon, Newegg, Tigerdirect) is "padding" the pricing on them. Microcenter @ this point has not been, but most are out of stock (at least what I'm looking for) Same thing is happening to the higher wattage power supplies (1000w up) Prices are higher and availability is low for reasonable OEM pricing.

Yeah I thought it was only effecting midrange cards like the rx480/580 and gtx 1060 but I noticed even the 1070s are marked up to $600 for some models which is ridiculous cause I coulda sworn the 1080 dropped to $500 when the ti came out.

So my question is this besides the cosmetic differences are there any real benefits to getting this card over the SC2 hybrid cause it seems to have the same fan setup which was my biggest issue with SC2. The asynchronous thing is dumb cause you can't control the blower fan independent of the radiator fan and by default the fan profile is non aggressive and gets pretty hot. Your forced to use precision x to set a fan profile for good Temps even if you prefer msi afterburner because of icx. I know this has a custom pcb and 2 8pin connectors. But is there any benefit to extra power if voltage is capped anyway?

Don't know. I hope within the next 2 weeks, tho I suppose EVGA would have to get stock on their own website first :p

My 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid is much louder than my 1080 FTW Hybrid was due to the smaller blower fan. It looks like the blower fan is larger on the FTW3 Hybrid vs. SC2 Hybrid as well. So the FTW3 *should* run quieter and perhaps cool a *little* better. The SC2 and FTW3 will both hit the same Pascal wall regardless of 8+8 pin vs 8+6 pin connections. If the FTW3 ends up being quieter under load I plan on selling my SC2 for it just based on that factor.

Anyone who's received their 1080ti ftw3 hybrid run into driver problems? Got mine Tues and I've been getting "Encountered and improper argument" message from precision X and 3dmark is telling me it doesn't recognize my card. I have reinstalled latest and previous drivers several times with DD and through control panel by uninstalling. Changing pciex slots doesnt do it either. Put back my old 1080 SC and everything works normal. Anybody have any suggestions? reinstalling OS was my next option..

I don't even run my SC2's blower fans more than 30%. It's only function is to cool the VRM which doesn't get that hot when it has its own decided heatsink & fan. The water block takes care of the core & the memory. You shouldn't be able to hear the blower fan over your case fans even if they're low RPM. I agree the FTW3 does have a bigger fan so you should be able to run it even lower but shouldn't make a difference audible wise. You may even have to run the FTW3 fan the same or even higher due to the higher power draw & beefed up PCB that doesn't make a difference when they'll both hit the same Pascal wall as you mentioned. No reason to get the FTW3 if you already have the SC2. You get crappy RGB and harder requirements for your case and your resale value due to this card being physically larger and many cases cannot support the extra width. The GTX 1080 Ti came out 5 months ago. It took 4 months for the SC2 and 5 months for the FTW3 to come to the market. That's too long considering GPU's are being replaced every 12 months and seems to be getting more frequent as time goes on. I don't even know why people bother with Kingpins or Classifieds anymore when 1-2 months later the next gen GPU comes out.
