Just thought I post and let you guys know that EK is selling adapter brackets for their waterblocks that will adapt their 115XX - 20XX blocks to work with the new LGA 1700 sockets. I've seen a lot of confusion because it's only listed as an adapter for their "Velocity" line of CPU blocks but it fits fine on a older Supremacy Evo block as you can see below from my pictures.  It only costs $0.01 USD however the website comically insists you have a minimum order of $2.50 before it allows you to check out. So I ordered some of their Ectotherm thermal grease to go along with it.

Here I tried to line them up so you guys can see how small of a difference there will be in the physical holes on the board. As you can see with the metal back plates, the hole positions are only ever so slightly further apart on the LGA 1700 bracket (lower bracket in the pic) and as you can also see the kit will come with a new rubber insulating gasket.

Here I mounted the EK Supremacy to the new adapter plate using the same stock threaded stand-offs and there is plenty of clearance on the Evo block holes for it to comfortably mount.

Here's an even closer look and to the side so you can see there is room for even a bit more should Intel keep sliding apart their mounting holes

Great info, Mr. C.  Good to know it will fit older blocks also.

So what you’re saying is, order 250 brackets, right?

Also, 2.50 would not be a bad price just so it already meets the minimum, but I like that it is .01 just so they can “sell” them.

from what I read the Asus 1700 boards have widened the mounting holes so a 1200 heatsink will fit without adapters.

This is correct the mounting holes are elongated to allow for the use of a lot of current LGA 115X and 12XX coolers, however on the back side of the LGA 1700 boards the metal plate of the socket is also larger so if your cooling retention uses a full cover back plate it may not work without a adapter regardless.

so while I wait for ddr5 to get back in stock I thought I would do some test fitting on the 1700 with a 1151 Corsair AIO, the thermal paste has pretty good coverage when applied with a small pea size drop in middle of cpu maybe use plastic spatula next time and spread over entire heat sink.

OP, thank you for the heads up.  It looks like it will fit the quantum magnitude too though it doesnt look like its called out.  For $0.01, I will risk it.

I ended up returning cpu and board instead of waiting for ddr5.

Yes it should fit that too as long as your CPU block has a little wiggle room in the mounting holes like mine does it should be just fine.
